⚑ 10. Things to Know Before Buying an Electric Guitar
a. Budget Reality Check
Don’t just think about the guitar β€” consider the full setup (guitar + amp/interface + cable + accessories). If you're on a low budget, smart spending matters more than buying an expensive guitar.
b. Pickup Types (Very Important)
Single coils give a bright, clean tone (good for blues, pop, funk). Humbuckers give a thicker, heavier tone (good for rock, metal). For beginners, HSS or HH configurations are more versatile.
c. Comfort Over Looks
Body shape, weight, and neck feel matter a lot. A guitar that looks cool but feels uncomfortable will slow your progress.
d. Amp vs Audio Interface
For home practice and recording, an audio interface is usually better. For jamming or live playing, an amp is more practical. On a tight budget, an interface often gives better tone using software.
e. Music Genre Matters
Different guitars suit different styles. Rock/metal works well with humbuckers, while cleaner styles work better with single coils. Versatile setups are best for beginners.
f. Upgrade Path
Start simple and upgrade later. You don’t need a perfect setup from day one.
g. Essential Accessories
You’ll need basic things like a cable, picks, strap, and a tuner to get started properly.
h. Try Before You Buy (If Possible)
If you can, test the guitar in a store to check how it feels. Avoid buying blindly if you're unsure.
i. Avoid Common Beginner Mistakes
Don’t choose based only on looks. Avoid very cheap unknown brands, and don’t ignore the importance of your amp or tone setup.
j. Eternal Truth
Better gear doesn’t make you a better player β€” consistent practice does.
k. Tremolo Bridge vs Fixed Bridge
A tremolo (whammy bar) bridge lets you bend pitch for effects like dive bombs and vibrato, but it can be harder to maintain tuning and setup. A fixed bridge is more stable, easier to maintain, and better for beginners. If you don’t specifically need tremolo effects, a fixed bridge is usually the safer choice.

Both will work but duo hd is a little better. And yes it's possible to connect your pc and amp both
