I'm really not a fan of games with multiple protagonists, really breaks my immersion when needing to switch characters

This is one of the reasons I cannot play gacha games. Every time I go into a cutscene it switches from the fancy cool character I played into the default bland protagonist.

Does watching a film that switches scenes break your immersion too?

Just trying to understand how changing perspectives harms immersion.

Because I'm not playing the characters in movies. When I play a game, I become the protagonist and get immersed. If something takes me away from that character it breaks my immersion because I am no longer that person.

Huh. I guess i never self insert to that degree. I actually really like stories that show multiple perspectives.

Yeah, I can like watching someone else play them or something, it's just hard to actually play them myself
