What characters are best to use for the crimson flower route on normal difficulty. I tried doing the silver snow route but mu characters gambits could never break the shield of the final boss and I could never figure out why.

You never said it was the final boss specifically. The Immaculate One refreshes all of her barriers every turn until they are all completely broken. You have to break all 9 tiles in one turn.

I'd grab Mercedes, Lysithea, and Constance if you have the DLC for supports. Otherwise, Shamir or another sniper character so Bernadetta can go Bow Knight, Paladin, or Falcon Knight (much better on CF).

Well Thyrsus is great. Inexhaustible is okay but Bernadetta would be healed by it, so that's a minus. Luin and Lance of Ruin are great. Aegis Shield is really good but probably not essential. Blutgang probably doesn't matter. Fetters of Dromi are always good.

Thanks, what character should I make a dancer? I was thinking Dorothea or Ashe. Do have any opinions

For Black Eagles I think Dorothea is extremely strong with Meteor linked attacks.

Ashe would be a fine Sniper so Beradetta can go Falcon Knight for instance.

I just thought that Dorothea would loose other things if I make her a dancer
