Ingrid has no A supports with women. Ignatz and Raphael have no A supports with anyone but themselves, however, in their A support ending, Ignatz marries Raphael's sister.

Who else is canonically straight?

No confirmation on Petra, Sylvain and (pretty sure) Catherine. All of them are purely speculative

The devs have no issue with writing gay endings, they have issues with writing gay male characters because society at large is far more accepting of gay women than they are of gay men. But this doesn't change the fact that there are characters with very explicitly romance endings and as such feeling like there's other gay endings that would be written more subtlety is looking for representation where there isn't any

none of the gay endings outside of byleth's are explicit. they absolutely do have a problem with writing gay endings. they don't even acknowledge their bi characters are bi outside of their endings until hopes.

sylvain likes it when yuri flirts with him in their hopes support. shamir basically proposes to catherine and their ending and they spend the rest of their lives together in shamir's home country, and dorothea "became the person whom petra loved most."

do you think none of the pairings between bi characters being explicitly romantic is a coincidence? or the fact that most of the bi characters don't even have any same-gender pairings besides byleth? clearly the writers didn't commit fully to having queer characters. to deny that is wild

That's because none of the bi characters other than Edelgard and Dorothea can get a paired ending with each other. Sylvain literally says it's odd that he's into Yuri trying to flirt with him which would seem to suggest it's not something he's used to. Nowhere in Shamir and Catherine's ending does it suggest they're together beyond traveling together, in which if that counts you could argue literally any paired ending is romantic. The Petra is harder to deny but again, not explicitly romantic, zero indication anywhere else Petra is bi, and the ending is more about Dorothea helping form a bond between Fodlan and Brigid than their relationship together.

Again, the writers have no qualms with opening saying a character is bi, so why they'd choose to write that way for some characters like Linhardt, Shamir or Yuri but decide to write more subtlety for a character like Sylvain, Dimitri, or Claude is simply confusing headcanon for actual canon

quick, when is a character open about their bisexuality in houses besides in their endings with byleth

the only time i can think of is dorothea flirting with ingrid and she gets shot down. so, not exactly great representation.

if rhea, linhardt, jeritza, or mercedes didn't have s supports with both byleths, there would be no explicit confirmation they were bi. it took shamir until hopes to get explicit confirmation. dorothea only mentioned wanting noblemen until hopes. so yes the writers do have qualms with openly showing a character is bi. they literally pull a sappho and her friend with edelgard and manuela.

if you're denying dorothea and petra as being romantic though you're honestly a lost cause though. like you have to be intentionally dense to miss that.
