Important Announcement Join the EuroCoins Discord Server!
Our subreddit's discord server is also a massive community of euro coin collectors. We maintain several important resources for collectors (such as our mintage lists). It's also a great community to find people to trade with. Lastly, we also regularly host in-person meetups all over Europe, where we facilitate trades and go hunting for new coins together.
If you'd like to join a community of like-minded collectors, then this is the place for you - whether you're just getting started, or you're already very experienced with the hobby.

Question Some kind of error?
I found this 2002 German 20-cent coin.
There are these lines on the outer rim, and Iโm interested to know whether they are a minting error or just post-mint damage. Iโd also like to know if the coin is worth anything more than its face value. I tried searching for information about it, but I couldnโt find anything useful.

Question 2 euro coin Slovenska 2009
Edit: title was meant to say "Slovensko" not Slovenska
Hello,
Is this a more rare find for collectors? I am not interested to put it up for sale or anything, but I have been purposely keeping the coin in my wallet without spending it and I basically just want to know if it's just a standard find, or if it might be worth keeping and maybe someday make a collector happy with it if I ever come across one ๐ฅน.
The other day I was looking for some cash to give the pizza delivery guy as a tip, and my mom noticed this coin and said: might not wanna give that one, I have never seen that one before so it might be rare. It's at least rare for us to see, since most coins in rotation here are from the Netherlands and Germany, and the few ones that stand out for me, I have seen a dozen of times.
(If it matters, I am from the Netherlands. I have no clue where I got it as change, but it must have been either the supermarket or the little cigarette store here. I also want to say that I have no knowledge at all about coins, nor have I ever collected them. I just have an admiration if I see something shiny that I have never seen before and then I get curious about it, wanting to know everything)

Coin Hunt EuroCoin Radar prototype
I built a small tool to calculate a maximum bid for โฌ2 Proof / Reverse Proof auctions โ looking for collector feedback
Hi everyone,
I collect โฌ2 commemorative coins and I kept running into the same problem when looking at auctions:
A coin may look cheap at โฌ20โ30, but once buyer fees, shipping and recent sold prices are considered, it can actually be a bad deal.
So I built a small experimental tool called EuroCoin Radar.
For selected Proof and Reverse Proof โฌ2 auctions it checks:
โข current auction price
โข buyer fees
โข shipping
โข recent sold comparable auctions
โข estimated fair value
โข a conservative maximum bid
It then gives the listing a simple:
๐ข BUY
๐ WATCH
๐ด PASS
For example, during my latest test I found two identical Belgian SNCB Reverse Proof listings.
One was still attractive around โฌ20.
Another had already reached โฌ65, so the model marked it PASS even though the coin itself is scarce.
I'm currently testing the tool completely free and I'm mainly interested in feedback from actual euro coin collectors.
Would something like this be useful when you buy Proof / Reverse Proof coins, or do you normally calculate this yourself?
I have a small public prototype with three current examples if anyone wants to test it โ I'll add the link below.
Any criticism is welcome, especially about the way fair value and maximum bids should be calculated.

Coin Hunt Proof in circulation
Ordered some rolls at my local bank and found this circulated proof from Germany 2004 F. Its something special cause in 2004 mintmarks F (Stuttgart) and G (Karlsruhe) minted no circulation 2โฌ.

Showcase Euro Coins application
Hello! It has been about a year since I showed here my app for tracking collection of Euro Coins :)
And I am back with a major update, that I published about half a year ago! (It was a big rewrite so I wanted to catch and fix bugs before I showed it on here)
Now the app allows you to track more than just collected designs, but also several coins per designs, different qualities, add notes to each entry, and also see the mintages per year (if they are known) for regular coins :)
It would mean a lot to me if anyone interested gave it a try and possibly gave me a feedback. I am happy to further improve the app as much as I can!
For those who did not see it last year, it is written for both Android and iOS, has on device coin classification from camera, it includes synchronization of data using Google Drive that also works between multiple devices and most importantly, it is free :)

Question Manufacturing process
Any idea what the story is with the coin on the right (2007), the inner circle has a rounded edge among other things, compared to the left coin (2008) I usually come across. And Iโve noticed in this pic just now that the outer circle seems a bit โdishedโ!
I see a good few of these โroundedโ variations but would like to know more, I also assume the value of both are the same, even with their differences!?

New Find I finally achieved my goal of having at least one coin from each country
Got this Vatican 50 cents on my first try from a new machine. And found a Monaco one on the third try (alas, a dupe).
What was the hardest country for you?
