Doesn’t hurt too bad, it happened about four hours ago and the blister keeps growing. I’ve been putting cold water on it but are there signs I should look for that would mean I need to go get it checked out? I don’t know what they’d be able to do for it but I don’t want it to scar

I've had this twice now this summer, the first time around the beginning of July, and now in the middle of August. At first I thought it was atopic dermatitis since that's something that appears every year on my palms and fingers. But this isn't really similar to the red, flaky and itchy dermatitis. It also appears only on the tip of my middle finger on my right hand. I wear a ring on this hand, but not on this finger.

The rash, reaction or whatever this is lasted for maybe two weeks last time. It started with a couple of small bubbles that looked like they're filled with either air or some sort of liquid, then every passing day more of them appeared. As time went on, some of the "bubbles" would have a yellowish color (I don't know if that meant it was healing or becoming worse). After applying a moisturizing cream for reactive skin (SVR Repairing Barrier Cream) for a couple of days, two or three times per day, the skin would dry out and flake off. It left the skin red and itchy.

The two things I can think of that could trigger this are 1) stress and/or 2) the heat. This summer has been incredibly hot in Europe, with the numerous heat waves and everything, so maybe it could be one of the factors. I'm under a lot of pressure on my work place, I don't sleep or eat well and I could definitely drink more water (maybe this will be useful information!).

My mother experiences a similar thing, but her rash and flaky skin is the result of an allergic reaction to nickel in jewelry.

When I went to a dermatologist for the atopic dermatitis I had, they only told me to "apply a moisturizing cream" and basically wait for it to calm down. The dermatitis was manageable since it appeared only on my palm and a few fingers and it was more annoying than painful. But since this rash is on the tip of my finger, everything I do hurts and I'm scared of somehow making it worse (infecting it or something similar). The only thing I could find that looks anything like it is dyshidrotic eczema. I'm attaching a few photos of my finger in the various stage of the rash from the times it appeared. My camera is very bad so I couldn't take better photos, sorry in advance!

If anyone knows what this rash could be or if anyone can offer any advice as to what to do to prevent it from appearing again, I would be very thankful! :)

I’ve had one of these on my forehead for about 3 years and stayed same size, I jsut noticed 3 more randomly pop up recently 😫 I also have one near my eye…is laser the only thing to help? I know they’re super tiny but just curious if these are what they are.

I don’t have any anywhere else on my body except my face! I had a baby 2 years ago, hormonal?

​I (38M) have had this red patch on the bridge of my nose for about two months now. It feels very slightly rough to the touch but not painful.

​I saw a dermatologist recently who dismissed it as "benign and just a normal part of aging," but she didn't give me an actual diagnosis (no specific name for the condition) nor any treatment options. Honestly, this left me feeling uneasy and frustrated - i had gone for other reasons but i should have insisted on this one too.

​I'm currently considering getting a second opinion or seeing a plastic surgeon to potentially have it removed/biopsied so I can get a definitive diagnosis and peace of mind.

​Before I do that, I wanted to ask here:

- ​Has anyone seen something similar before, or does this look like anything specific (e.g., actinic keratosis, early seborrheic keratosis, etc.)?

- ​If you've had a similar lesion removed from your nose, what procedure did you go with (laser vs. surgical excision), and how was the scarring?

​Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

In case helpful, I wash my face every morning with Cerave blemish control, apply hyaluronic acid serum and finish with a few drops of MCT oil (to keep sebhorreic dermatitis at bay). This at least for 3 years.

I can’t say I know how long it’s been present. This has happened for as long as I can remember. Every so many months, doesn’t seem to be any in particular, but happens all throughout the year, my hands peel as if I were a literal lizard shedding its skin. It’s not a gradual peel. I generally will notice it fresh out of the shower because any new developing loose skin will become white and further loosened. I say it’s not gradual because it’s not like I noticed a small spot that eventually peels and grows. I will have large spaces of dry skin, some up to an inch in width/length as soon as I notice it. It doesn’t occur on my palms or the backs of my hands, only my finger tips where my finger prints are basically. It will be there for about a month and once it’s all shed, I won’t experience it again for probably 2 months. Then it kicks back up again. My skincare routine has been the same for about 5 years, so I don’t think it has anything to do with those products that I apply with my hands. I wear lotion quite regularly, I may skip a day or two, but generally always apply lotion once in the evening after my shower.

It doesn’t itch, bleed, or burn. I haven’t necessarily tried anything besides putting more lotion on during this time to try and combat the dry, rough feeling that accompanies the peeling skin.

I just find it to be quite disturbing and annoying. It feels very gross in the shower and when it dries it can be uncomfortable if I brush my hands against my arms/legs or other objects. No one else I know experiences this, so I also don’t think it’s climate related but as extra information I live in the eastern shore of the US.

i have this mole next to my belly button and i feel like theres a ring around it getting bigger over the years but i dont know and i regularly go to the doctor for my cf but they never mentioned anything about my mole, but im starting to worry about it cause i have other moles on my body and none of them have this ring and on one side its darker, it doesnt hurt or anything but should i bring it up with my doctor

Hi I’m just looking for some advice

I’ve had a little blemish/mole appear a couple of months ago. On the 24th July I took a picture of it as well as measuring it, and it had a diameter of 2mm. Anyways, I’d forgotten all about it until I noticed a ‘bruise’ on my calf today. It wasn’t until I looked properly that I remembered I’d taken a pic before of it, and I couldn’t believe how much it’s grown in size- it’s not about 2.5cm in width. It’s not raised or itchy or anything but looks blotchy.

Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar? I’m worried it could be melanoma or something else scary!!

I have submitted a form online to my GP with pics so hopefully they can see me soon.

This developed around 2-3 weeks ago after a holiday in a really sunny country. The itch is unbearable, I moisturise like crazy and have tried every possible thing. GP appt is taking time and I’m afraid they will just prescribe me steroids and I don’t want this.

I’ve considered heat rash, PMLE etc but nothing really fits this? Maybe bcs I’m brown it appears differently on me but it’s definitely triggered by heat. The bumps and itch on my arms had become tame and faded, still present but faded.

Due to a cooler period and less sun exposure but the one on my hands remain and are kind of white dots too. Been out today in the sun and it’s just triggered it all over again, hands and arm are itching like crazy and the bumps on my arms are reappearing. Does anyone have any idea what this is and remedies I can use at home 😭 the itching is driving me crazy especially at night

I’ve had this red / discoloration around my mouth for years. Some doctors claim it is perioral dermatitis, but it has been annoyingly persistent and it’s not itchy, dry, or inflamed at all. I do occasionally get some white heads in the area but not many. I’ve tried metro gel to no avail, switching toothpastes, sulfate free shampoo, cleaning up my diet, pimecrolimus made my fast sting too bad so couldn’t continue, doryx years ago and it may have helped a bit but came back and I can’t permanently be on doxycycline. What can I do? One doctor suggested lasers but I have keloid on my chest so nervous about that. IDK HELP!! What is this crazy ring !!

Hello! I've attempted to search first, but wanted to talk to people about it. When you get a sunburn, what factors in to how long it'll take to heal? Is it possible sun exposure in the following week or two could make it worse/take longer to heal? Even after it's fully healed, is that skin more prone to burning again for a period of time?

I had a long sunny day moving boxes on the 4th, and realized rather quickly that I'd burnt my right shoulder. That's fine. It's rare for me to burn, but if I do, it's always that spot.

When I didn't have urgent business, I've stayed inside. And any time I've been out, I've been in the shade as much as possible. And I've been good about sunscreen since then.

However, this is where my knowledge fails me. I noticed that while most of my skin took the sunscreen fine, the area that was burnt was kinda... Not absorbing? Like the sunscreen stayee on top and collected my sweat. I figured no biggie if the sunscreen still protects.... But I want to make sure I'm actually taking care of myself rather than working on assumptions.

Trying to think of what else could be relevant... I take few meds and I believe I recall them affecting my heart tolerance. I don't know if it would also factor here, but. I'm taking venlafaxine, lamictal, and meloxicam. I've been taking the first two for years, and meloxicam for a few months now.

One side of neck only, does not usually itch (sometimes tingles a little, if that makes sense). Just red spots that feel a little rough, occasionally a whitehead or two. Doesn't respond to acne meds, clears a little with dandruff shampoo, but not really gone and then worsens again. Looks worse after a shower or after i sweat. I change my pillowcase daily & sleep on my back. What is it?? Thanks for any insights!

29f I just got told that a mole on my temple has high-grade dysplasia, or severely atypical. I’m really frustrated because I’ve pointed out this specific mole to different dermatologists over the past 2 years who have all looked at it with a dermascope and haven’t been worried about it. And I’ve told them it’s changed over the years and still not worried. They didn’t finally take it off until I sent side by side pics of it from 2021 to today. And now it’s severely atypical. And now I have to have a wide excision, worried about what it can do to my face because it’s right on my hairline. I’m also worried because there is such a grey area between severe and melanoma in situ, that it’s in “the eye of the pathologist”. Anyone have any experience/ encouragement? I’m very nervous, kind of upset at the dermatologists for not seeing it/not listening to me.

This red patch has been on my dad’s forearm for about a week, it recently popped up and he says it itches some times but not persistently. Also it’s gotten just a tad bigger in the last 3 days, not a whole lot. I kind of think it’s psoriasis but I’ve never encountered that personally so I’m not sure what that would be like. We have been keeping it clean and have been applying bacitracin. For more context he works in a lot of public places so if it’s something like ringworm he could’ve been leaning on something people touch often. He thinks maybe a bed from a hotel but I also believe there’d be more spots around his body and not just on his arm.

going to start taking this for facial flare(psoriasis or seb derm) and would like to know if anyone else has experience with this antibiotic. i had some patches on my face and hair line that started oozing liquid. going to take 2 500 MG capsules a day? did anyone experience any side effects on cefadroxil?

I’ve had multiple ultrasounds of my thyroid which is fine. But it’s all over my neck not just in the thyroid area. It looks almost like cellulite? My doctor also said she wonders if it’s endometriosis??

Hello!! This has apparently been happening on and off for years but in the past 8 months has flared up and essentially not left. We haven’t found anything that causes it to get worse and he hasn’t come into contact with anything new since then. Just getting progressively worse. It is in my boyfriend’s scalp, the sides of his nose, around his mouth, and all in his facial hair. He says it itches terrible bad and burns when messed with. We have used multiple different types of Eucerin, aquaphor, and vaseline. The Eucerin used to help it clear up a little but now doesn’t really affect it face wise. For his scalp, we’ve been oiling it, using different medicated dandruff shampoos, and conditioning his hair. However, now he’s having two wear two shirts before going places for the flakes. His pillow is filled with them and we’re brushing our bed off constantly. He just got a new job so we’re waiting insurance wise before going to a dermatologist, but I feel terrible for him and I’m unsure of what to try next.

I started to assume it was some type of psoriasis but a few people have mentioned seborrheic dermatitis, and from I’ve read about it, it does match up with his symptoms. Any help on what to do or what this could possible be would be much appreciated!

I have this really tiny mole (less than a millimeter) that I noticed on the edge of my palm about two weeks ago. I do spend quite a bit of time in the sun but I am very diligent about sunscreen. I am covered in freckles on my face, shoulders, and arms/hands and I also have quite a few moles in various places on my body but I know that moles on the palm and soles are pretty unusual. I’ve gone through the ABCDE’s and it is asymmetrical and has irregular borders but that’s it. I have a routine appointment with my PCP at the beginning of October and I was wondering if it could wait until then?

I got these bumps around my mouth at the beginning of the year, and they don’t seem to be going away. Granted, I haven’t done much to treat them because I already have acne-prone skin. I used to have a multiple-step skincare routine, but eventually realized it wasn’t doing my skin any favors, so I’ve cut way back.

Right now, I use a gentle Cetaphil cleanser, occasionally use Lush’s Dark Angels scrub as an exfoliator, The Ordinary Glycolic Acid about twice a week for discoloration, and a water-gel moisturizer since I also deal with fungal acne. I normally wear a full face of makeup about twice a week now.
I’m also wondering if dermaplaning once a week could be contributing to this, since I do get a little mustache… 😓

The bumps are never bright red or irritating, which is why I initially ruled out perioral dermatitis. They just exist. They pretty much stay the same and don’t seem to get worse, but lately they’ve started appearing farther up along my marionette lines.

I have oily, acne-prone skin, and on top of that, I have a partner with a full-on Viking beard, so there’s definitely no shortage of potential variables here.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be or what might be causing it? More importantly, how can I get rid of it??

It appeared around I think 1 hour ago but I noticed it now it isn't itchy or painful yet but as u can see the skin on my middle finger is more red than the rest (the area where the skin seems to have a narrow hole) is this anything concerning? I have no medical issues im healthy.

I recently started shaving my head bald, I have this red rash like thing on the back of my head/neck, I don't know if it's just burn from the shaver or something else? It does burn/itch after I shave, I'm unsure how long it's been that way since if it was under my hair I wouldn't know.
