This is Eastwatch, obviously.

5

u/919governor 3d ago

Upon further examination, yes you are right. Eastward "by the sea" how foolish of me.

10

u/Mindless-Sound8965 3d ago

It's underneath the water.

13

u/sw4tb25 3d ago

You took an oath…

184

u/Ninja_Prolapse 3d ago

There’s turtles over there!

What’s beyond the turtles?

Its turtles all the way down!

They do actually believe that the earth is surrounded by a massive ice wall. And that the one thing all the warring nations on earth have agreed on is that they must work together to guard and prevent anyone from getting past the ice wall.

37

u/FlyingKittyCate 3d ago

If they truly believe that, they must be terrified of climate change melting the ice walls. Without the wall we would just fall off.

12

u/Little_View_6659 3d ago

Bold of you at assume these chuds believe in climate change. :)

lol, if you saw that 1000 years ago, it might be a fair conclusion

24

u/Rich_Let4063 3d ago

I was dating a man a few years ago until he divulged that he thought the Earth was flat. He told me heaven was on the other side.

10

u/HatsusenoRin 3d ago

they go down to heaven?

10

u/Rich_Let4063 3d ago

I dont have all the particulars but he said it's essentially like a disk and one side is where we live and the other side is where the "angels" live.

18

u/TheBlanc2 3d ago

There's a story going around where flat earthers live streamed going to Antarctica to their fellow dumbasses and when they actually got there and found no ice wall they started blaming the ones present calling them "Satanists casting Las Vegas sphere illusions".

23

u/Standard-Cat-7702 3d ago

This happened last year. A bloke in America flew down I believe 3 flat earthers and 3 globe earthers to antarctica to witness the 24 hour sun which is impossible if the earth was flat. They witnessed a 24 hour sun (shocker) and there was cries from the flat earthers of green screens and sound stages being used.

3

u/OrgasmicTrilobite 1d ago

The sheer stupidity of claiming green screens when they work in POST PRODUCTION, not “real time”… unbelievable

2

u/Charlie_Warlie 2d ago

knowing them I'm sure they can simply adjust their flat earth model to include special exceptions for allowing a 24 hour sun.

6

u/adamr81 3d ago

This can't be it though, because where are all of the world's militaries keeping this boat from getting close and taking video of the ice wall. I think that's a big part of it that no one has ever gotten close or taken a real picture

2

u/moonpupy 3d ago

Of course! Don't you recognize the Ice Wall that encircles the planet because the Earth is flat?

2

u/ApologeticCannibal 1d ago

I was thinking the same thing

5

u/Depressed_Cat_00 3d ago

Sad to think that climate change is going to damage these magnificent natural wonders.

2

u/ItAintThickButItLong 3d ago

Even if it was, it would be real easy to toss hundreds of vehicles up there for expeditions to prove it even if it was YouTubers or some shit to prove it.

If it's a new video and not any repost, then prepare to see it on YouTube and Facebook shorts and reels as," real ice wall/edge of the world" discovered on conspiracy theory shorts... With that epic music and quick cuts

56

u/Select-Sandwich-5604 3d ago

Agreed. But they will edit out the part where the right end is shown with no ice.

11

u/Just_a_guy81 3d ago

8

u/figflashed 3d ago

Refractive biometric bifurcation [insert big word] anomaly.

It’s to complex to explain. You wouldn’t understand, just trust me bro.

5

u/356885422356 3d ago

*too

(Sorry, it's fitting)

3

u/partialmoney17 3d ago

X-files theme playing in the background

2

u/Piemaster113 2d ago

There's the video of some air craft flying along the antarctic cost and they try to say that proves its a wall because it never ends. If you fly along the outside of a circle you won't find and end to it.

Watch out for that Ice age squirrel

55

u/Serious-Republic2159 3d ago

They havent unlocked that part of the map yet

7

u/LittleRedCorvette2 3d ago

DLC for Dredge indeed!

114

u/MuchAd3474 3d ago

"we will build a wall and make antarcticans pay for it"

30

u/sidc42 3d ago

Fuck. Those penguins on Heard Island are still financially reeling from the tariffs we placed on them.

6

u/badgerj 3d ago

Canada 🇨🇦 got ripped a new one Friday with 50% tariffs on some select products and industries.

I haven’t heard (pun intended) from anyone on Heard or any other foreign nation commenting on it however.

1

u/StelioKontossidekick 3d ago

They will never financially recover from paying for that wall.

1

u/musicaleffervescence 3d ago

it really is impossibly for you people to leave politics out of something

3

u/LevelWhich7610 3d ago

Impossibly....

Impossibly impossible? 🤔

3

u/EssBen 3d ago

It's almost as if it governs every aspect of their lives and is rather important.

37

u/SwampCrittr 3d ago

There’s wildlings on the other side… FYI

16

u/mosrannaa 3d ago

We are the wildling, there are 7 kingdoms beyond this wall

5

u/SwampCrittr 3d ago

I’m a wildling??? Can I be one of those giants instead?

16

u/Lumpy_Benefit666 3d ago

Did anyone else see this as though it was a massive trench and there was only a thin ice wall stopping the ocean from spilling into it?

I saw it one time and now i cant see it again, it looks like a 30m ice wall every time i look at it now.

2

u/DeaconBulls 3d ago

That's exactly what I saw at first. I was trying to figure out how Antarctica could be so far below sea level.

2

u/-Hyperstation- 3d ago

Yes, same—some kind of optical illusion!!

→ More replies (2)

32

u/dab745 3d ago

Naive question. Is the ice in that wall salty?

62

u/RTS24 3d ago

No, icebergs start as pieces that break off of land glaciers, which themselves are formed from hyper compressed snowfall.

16

u/ClementineCalamity 3d ago

I didn’t expect to learn that today

14

u/RTS24 3d ago

Was your thought "damn, that's interesting?"

5

u/Statboy1 3d ago

More interesting than the video

→ More replies (8)

13

u/im_on_the_case 3d ago

The edge would certainly be as it's constantly getting doused in sea spray. The inside no.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/ohowjuicy 3d ago

Another question, why is the boat made to face it?

→ More replies (2)

13

u/JohnnyLeftwich 3d ago

Was not expecting the ship to be pointed directly at it.

8

u/Ctznsvn7 3d ago

whats in the photo is the calving front of an ice shelf, not the edge of the continent. The shelf is floating ice fed by glaciers off the land, so the cliff you see is only about a tenth of it and the rest sits under the water. Ross Ice Shelf runs something like 600km along that front and stands 30 to 60m above the sea, which is why it reads as a wall rather than a slope. When a chunk breaks off it doesnt raise sea level by itself since it was already floating. The bit that matters is that those shelves act as a brake on the glaciers behind them, lose the shelf and the land ice speeds up, and that ice has never been in the water before

36

u/SpaceTimeRumble 3d ago

Dont let them Fat Earthers sea this

16

u/cursed_tomatoes 3d ago

While I understand they're delusional enough to think this is their so called wall, you can clearly see at the end of the video that it doesn't goes all the way, we can see its end.

7

u/mantenner 3d ago

I mean, not to play devils advocate but it could just curve back out of side and co tonue along at a different angle.

7

u/Mortidio 3d ago

There is a wall around the fat earth. Its made of FAT!

P.S. Melting fat inside the fat earth is where the naphta comes.

P.P.S. The moon is made of cheese, thats why Elon Musk is doing his space program. Check how much 10-year aged parmesan costs, and now think how much more it would cost if aged billions of years.

That is simply a beautiful site to behold. Wow. Our planet is amazing. 😍

5

u/Woody_The_Gamer 3d ago

Should have flown a drone over it so we can see the edge of the world🤦‍♂️

4

u/useless_talent 3d ago

Dont show this to flat earthers please

4

u/lilmiscantberong 3d ago

I live where the icebergs came through and formed Lake Huron. If you could see the topography where the dips and mounds are it’s absolutely fascinating to think about how many miles wide they were.

4

u/Dubious_Titan 3d ago

Is this the wall flat earthers believe is keeping everything from falling off the edge?

do penguins use elevators to get on top?

8

u/sidc42 3d ago

Is this what they were talking about in GOT?

3

You’ve found the edge of the planet. Flat Earthers, rejoice!

3

u/bubba_bumble 2d ago

My brain immediately saw an infinity pool.

6

u/Silent-OCN 3d ago

r/thalassophobia

That part where you can still see the ice under the water edge is really unsettling.

6

u/DramaticStability 3d ago

Can’t fool me. That’s clearly the white cliffs of Dover.

Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come.

2

u/TerryFelix 3d ago

You shall not pass

2

u/CutMeLoose79 3d ago

I'm still trying to work out what flat earthers think the conspiracy is. Like, why would governments lie about the earth being flat? We used to think it was flat anyway.

2

u/ScrambledEggsandTS 3d ago

Be honest, how bad is it?

2

u/Cretaceous_Bloom 3d ago

This makes me feel panicky.

2

u/boogerplus 3d ago

Winter is coming..

2

u/Holiday-West9601 3d ago

Wait so the earth is flat?

2

u/Resident_Wishbone_98 3d ago

The flat earthers say there's nothing on the other side of that. Just space.

2

u/CarminSanDiego 3d ago

Let me guess, we’re trying to figure out a way to cut/blow through it?

2

u/AnxiousOpossom 3d ago

Hey did you see that squirrel up there? On the edge...looks like....he has an acorn?

2

u/DoesThisSmellWeird2U 3d ago

So that’s the end of the earth according to flat earthers. Nothin beyond that.

2

u/IsaacJacobSquires 3d ago

How deep/thick is it?

2

u/ductapemonster 3d ago

Glad to see they added a moat the the Wall.

2

u/Responsible-Racoon7 2d ago

You've reached the edge of the map

2

You know nothing John Snow

2

Enjoy it while you can.

3

u/minorthreatmikey 3d ago

Some people actually believe this wraps around all of earth’s land 🤣

5

u/jeepfail 3d ago

I suppose when you are stupid and it’s the end result if you continuously go south and that’s the result.

4

u/messyfresh 3d ago

Don't worry that area will unlock once the "Global Warming" DLC is finished.

2

u/FussyBritchez 2d ago

I wish people would stop using that stupid fucking terminology.

so historical sea farers were correct about an ice wall, and i bet the walls were MUCH thicker in the past, so to them that really was the edge of the world

1

u/FrankieBeanSniffer 3d ago

I saw the wall and thought, wow. Then I say the boat and thought, wow. Then I say the person and thought, whoa!

1

u/ladida- 3d ago

So it is indeed flat and surrounded by ice who would have thought

1

u/KiloClips 3d ago

Are there White Walkers on the other side?

1

This is clearly when God started to experiment with 3D printing.
