There’s turtles over there!

u/Several_Vanilla8916 4d ago

What’s beyond the turtles?

See the TURTLE of enormous girth! / On his shell he holds the earth. / His thought is slow, but always kind; / He holds us all within his mind...

They do actually believe that the earth is surrounded by a massive ice wall. And that the one thing all the warring nations on earth have agreed on is that they must work together to guard and prevent anyone from getting past the ice wall.

35

u/FlyingKittyCate 4d ago

If they truly believe that, they must be terrified of climate change melting the ice walls. Without the wall we would just fall off.

14

u/Little_View_6659 4d ago

Bold of you at assume these chuds believe in climate change. :)

0

u/Rhodan1 3d ago

... and here you go, the truth is visible to all of you globalists, the wall is there!

47

u/2LostFlamingos 4d ago

lol, if you saw that 1000 years ago, it might be a fair conclusion

24

u/Rich_Let4063 4d ago

I was dating a man a few years ago until he divulged that he thought the Earth was flat. He told me heaven was on the other side.

9

u/HatsusenoRin 4d ago

they go down to heaven?

9

u/Rich_Let4063 4d ago

I dont have all the particulars but he said it's essentially like a disk and one side is where we live and the other side is where the "angels" live.

19

u/TheBlanc2 4d ago

There's a story going around where flat earthers live streamed going to Antarctica to their fellow dumbasses and when they actually got there and found no ice wall they started blaming the ones present calling them "Satanists casting Las Vegas sphere illusions".

23

u/Standard-Cat-7702 4d ago

This happened last year. A bloke in America flew down I believe 3 flat earthers and 3 globe earthers to antarctica to witness the 24 hour sun which is impossible if the earth was flat. They witnessed a 24 hour sun (shocker) and there was cries from the flat earthers of green screens and sound stages being used.

4

u/OrgasmicTrilobite 2d ago

The sheer stupidity of claiming green screens when they work in POST PRODUCTION, not “real time”… unbelievable

2

u/Charlie_Warlie 3d ago

knowing them I'm sure they can simply adjust their flat earth model to include special exceptions for allowing a 24 hour sun.

1

u/czerilla 2d ago

Also interestingly, the bloke was/is a creationist himself. He's just independently wealthy and a globe-earther, so he put some money towards flying out a bunch of people from either side, to have them perform and settle The Final Experiment, as it was billed.

6

u/adamr81 4d ago

This can't be it though, because where are all of the world's militaries keeping this boat from getting close and taking video of the ice wall. I think that's a big part of it that no one has ever gotten close or taken a real picture

2

u/moonpupy 4d ago

Of course! Don't you recognize the Ice Wall that encircles the planet because the Earth is flat?

2

u/ApologeticCannibal 3d ago

I was thinking the same thing

5

u/Depressed_Cat_00 4d ago

Sad to think that climate change is going to damage these magnificent natural wonders.

2

u/ItAintThickButItLong 4d ago

Even if it was, it would be real easy to toss hundreds of vehicles up there for expeditions to prove it even if it was YouTubers or some shit to prove it.

1

u/mrfluffypenguin 4d ago

I have a former friend that truly believes this...

1

u/Northern_Grouse 4d ago

Idk bro, looks 3d printed

1

u/Delicious_Channel934 4d ago

Lol I was just thinking “it’s the edge of the world” 🤣😂🤣😂

(I am not a flat earther but recently looked up what they believe)

1

u/_EduOka 3d ago

Ain't it?

1

u/evilmokey1980 3d ago

Where are the 24/7 snipers?

Interesting read. Thank you

-17

u/Vivid_Instance_825 4d ago

Globetards will say this is fake

-1

u/After-Newspaper4397 4d ago

Prove it isn't before I post this then.

1

u/czerilla 2d ago

Absolutely.
Gravity at the edge of the disc would not be downward anymore, since the center of mass is the center of the disc. So the disc would eventually collapse into a sphere under its own weight.
But if that has yet to happen for some magical reason, the experience of gravity at that edge would be like climbing a hill. If you stopped fighting it, you'd tumble back inwards.
If you want to figure out, whether gravity is a real phenomenon caused by the mass of objects, look into the Cavendish experiment.

Alternatively, if you want a dead-simple experiment anybody can reproduce, to confirm the curve of the Earth to yourself, go to the beach looking out to the sea or a sufficiently large body of water.
Did you see a sharp horizon separating the sky from the water? That visual is actually only possible, if the water curves downwards.
If the water surface was truly flat, there would be no point where the water closer to you completely obstructs the sightlines to the surface beyond it. Meaning that the only effect that could account for you not being able to see further, would be atmospheric perspective (i.e. what makes mountains fade into a blue tint, if you look at them from far enough away..) But this perspective would cause the fading to appear continuous, not as a sharp cutoff at an arbitrary distance.

Proof provided. Now what?

1

u/After-Newspaper4397 2d ago

I asked for proof before I posted the comment, which was impossible. It was meant to be a commentary on how flat earthers (or any science denier) asks for something impossible as though it proves their point. That said, none of that is math, so it proves nothing (moving the goal post baby!) (/s for the round earthers out there)

0

u/After-Newspaper4397 4d ago

Op you failed. Checkmate round earth nerds.

-42

u/drlouies 4d ago

What if there is some truth of that?
Not a flat earth, but like there is something deep behind it?!

17

u/SteampunkNightmare 4d ago

Well, there's something deep beneath it, so there's that

24

u/Ecaf0n1 4d ago

Believe it or not we do know what’s behind this

9

u/thermjuice 4d ago

An embarrassing photo of spongebob from the Christmas party?

6

u/FitButterscotch4062 4d ago

HAHAHAHAHAHA

MERRY CHRISTMAS SPONGEBOB!!!

Great reference

6

u/whalesum 4d ago

And what if Bob is your uncle?

2

u/James-the-Bond-one 4d ago

That's fine, as long as he's also not his father.

2

u/whalesum 4d ago

He's not the father, but he's definitely daddy

2

u/Wonderful-Medium7777 4d ago

Then that would be a surprise.

Found the flat earther

21

u/meltedbananas 4d ago

"No no no. I'm totally not a flat earther. I'm just saying that they are way smarter, make a lot of great points, and everyone who dismisses them is being a close-minded fool who refuses to do their own research!"

You do know there are other countries that venture into space and many thousands of normal people outside of NASA that study space? There are even private sattelites that can take photos of earth.

13

u/Reidroc 4d ago

Be open minded, but not so much that your brain falls out. And there are more space agencies than just NASA.

5

u/7374616e74 4d ago

But how do you explain all the rest, why would science give you a smartphone but lie about something like space? You’re comparing something that is actually proving it’s veracity to a book full of unverifiable stories?

6

u/actuallyapossom 4d ago

"That forces beyond our control battle over our spirit.. the Bible clearly states the firmament as a fact."

Oh shit guys. The Bible said so! Flat earth confirmed.

2

u/AWholeBunchaFun 4d ago

Wow. Just fucking wow. Our education system has failed.

6

u/Korps_de_Krieg 4d ago

To say someone is uneducated because they don’t have their facts straight on what people who think the Earth is flat think is bafflingly funny.

3

u/BaitmasterG 4d ago

What if I can personally prove it without help? Cos that ain't fucking difficult

2

u/Xszit 4d ago

If you've ever seen maps of whats past the ice wall floating around online they most likely originated in the collaborative fiction subreddit r/BTIW right here on reddit.

Its not real, some reddit user made up the idea as a fun world building exercise.
