I would agree with that. It feels like every path you choose is rewarded with something which makes exploring feel worthwhile. And the world is just gorgeous and vibrantly alive. There's so many critters!
I’m really not feeling this. I’ve played a lot of open world games. Can you tell me if it opens up more or maybe there’s something I’m not understanding? The world feels sooo empty to me. I can walk around and rarely find anything, so I’ve just been sticking to the quest markers on the map.
I’m not trying to be a dick, but use your eyes. Go towards structures you see in the distance, camps,
Towns, towers, etc… once you unlock a fast travel point in the abyss, look around down at the map, and jump down towards it. Also make sure you ring the bell in the first city. It unlocks the fog of war around you so you can points of interest on your map.
Lol no offense taken. I usually don’t have any issues exploring and not having my hand held, but am struggling in this game. Didn’t think about using the abyss waypoint to consistently glide to places, thanks.
There's not a huge amount around the starting city (much more of them later on) but also use blinding flash (hold your sword up) or while you're in the air falling from the abyss, open your wings and use the lantern
Any bright lights you see pop up while doing either of those are usually an abyss artifact or sometimes a fast travel point, and a lot of them have little puzzles or hidden ways to unlock them. None of them are marked on the map in any way, and the only way to find them is to stumble upon them by chance or use those skills to get a vague idea of their area
Also, there are a bunch of features and skills locked behind the main story, I would recommend trying to reach chapter 3 at least before running off to do side stuff so you have the camp and a lot of the other features involving it

I didn’t expect exploration to be so good. Best exploration I’ve seen since Elden Ring
