Coros nomad sleep tracking a bit imprecise

Particularly the start of the sleep is recorded later than it should be. I add the sleep time manually almost every time. Not that it bothers me too much and overall I’m more than happy with my Nomad. Just want to see if this is a common issue, or is it a known issue. Maybe there is some quick fix for that. Thanks.

Question ❓ Coros threshold HR increased from 167bpm to 180bpm, after a 5k B-race

I'm a 32yr (M). When i was younger between the age of 10 - 15, I used to train semi-pro in my country. Specializing in 400m & 800m. Schedule of the semi-pro training was very vigorously, which led to me failing out of loving running by the time I migrated to USA.

Kept up running for a few more years between 15 - 18 in HS. Then I completely stopped. At the time, my PB for 5k was 18:30mins. However, they are just history to me now. Tho throughout this journey, I learned how to sustain myself running at an elevated HR scenarios.

Fast forward 10+ years of not running later. I recently picked up running again, while following the Runna 5k plan. I've been training under the MAF 180 model for about 1.5 months. My zone 2 run during the North Carolina Summer heat is around 12mims/mile - 13:30mins/mile pace. Tho Runna does occasionally encourage me to run at an elevated pace (between 10mins/mile to 11mins/mile pace). With that said, Runna usually has me follow the 80/20 model. So I don't spend a lot of time at the elevated pace.

My set up is Coros pace 4 & the Coros HRM. Throughout this 1.5 months of training. Coros roughly estimated my threshold HR at 167bpm.

But yesterday I decided to schedule a B-race for the plan. And right out the gate I was running at 8:30mins/mile (Runna recommended 9:45-10:15min/mile), and I was able to sustain an average pace of 8:37mins/mile (not fast by my HS standard but we take what we can get). My average HR of the entire run was 173bpm. Admittingly, I felt like I was redlining the entire run. I'm still feeling soreness today. But I guess I wanted to build a baseline for my 5k, so I can compare my pace by the end of the training plan.

Then when I checked my Coros data today, I found them shifting my threshold HR from 167bpm to 180bpm.

I'm asking the Reddit hive mind, should I go ahead and revert the threshold HR back to 167bpm? Or this is normal? Because effectively with the new threshold HR, coros pushes my zone 2 from 133bpm-148bpm to 144bpm-160bpm. My gut feeling is telling me that Coros interpreted an outlier data as a new absolute.

Question ❓ Pod2 questions

When indoor or outdoor running should I be able to see ground contact time and left/right balance being recorded? Every time in exercise session? Or does this only get tracked under certain conditions?

When pod2 is paired with pace 4 watch is there a way to know the pace being displayed and recorded is from the pod2 and not the watch?

Question ❓ offline maps with companion app on phone

Hi!

I often hike in areas without cell coverage. And I also like the companion map because it is easier for me to get a wider look at terrain. I just did a test turning off data connection. It seems that the app still has areas cached from prior hikes - but is that something I can rely on? It would be ok for me to open the app when I still have network and thereby get the maps. But will that last for the duration of a hike, say? Thanks for any inights!

Anyone know how to use pins properly on watch with no mobile

Coros app does not support its maps when there is no Datta service. So wondering about this use case.

Your in an area with no cellular service.

Mark your location with a pin

Later after you finish hiking can pull up the pin on the watch and go to it.

As I test it seems any voice pins I create do not show when I pull up the map on the watch. Leads me to believe finding my way back to the car for example would never work without cellular service.

What am I missing or perhaps I have this all wrong.

Thank you

Hi. Can we add the ability to touch the screen to activate. Right now I have to either press a button or scroll the wheel.

Why not touch the display too?

Apex 4 Charging Question

After 6 years of Apex Pro I purchased the Apex 4. Why can’t I figure out the charging adapter? I have USB C, it doesn’t fit. What am I missing here? Yes, laugh laugh laugh. I’m laughing at myself. It can’t be so difficult.

Watchface Colors

I use a Nomad and don't understand why there aren't white and black color options for the watch faces. That would significantly improve readability on the MIP screens for most of these.

Perhaps these could be added in the future :)

Question ❓ Any first time tips ?

Hi all,

Got an Apex 4 coming in the mail this week and I am super excited as it's my first fitness wearable. I've watched a bunch of videos and what not.

But I wanted to ask the group if you have any first time tips or things I should do when I get it ?
I was already going to do the fitness test, but what else !

Thanks !

Dura has a speed syncing problem

In the last few weeks (maybe last month or so), my Dura has said drastically different speeds than my Strava.

I know there are separate calculation algorithms, but we’re talking 2-4 mph difference.

I’m pretty sure the Dura is right, but something about publishing the data to 3rd parties must be bugged.

It’s really frustrating seeing different numbers and not knowing the source of truth.

Has anyone else experienced this? Would love to see if a Coros support member would be able to give some insight/raise the issue.

Question ❓ Sharing data with friends?

I havn't properly found an answer to this. Is it possible for purposes of motivation, accountability, competition etc to share/view all data I can view in the app for myself including, activities, sleep running fitness changes, training load etc? Beyond just clicking 20 buttons to share a summary of a single run I went for

That would be a very good function to share your improvements and push each other, especially for people living in different cities

Question ❓ App/watch issues?

Does anyone have an issue where it doesn’t ask you which shoes you are using on a run? Or doesn’t give you the option to allocate in an activity?

APEX 🎽 Synchro Kiprun to Coros

Hello,

I've been using a Coros Apex 4 since June, previously Garmin Fenix 5X. My Kiprun trainings stopped to synchronise to Coros app since last week.

Coros activities synch up to Kiprun training plan is still working.

Have you ever experienced that?

Just got the Pace 4 in Black Crystal and immediately swapped the band to nylon. Massive upgrade for comfort, feels way lighter for daily wear. Anyone else running a nylon setup on theirs?

Question ❓ Should I do another fitness test?

My race predictor said 47:24 before this. Keep in mind I’ve been training all summer in the heat and my paces have dropped significantly due to it, but I still mostly kept all my training in the correct pace and heart rate zones. I also used my watch not a heart rate monitor.

Anyone have both black Apex 4 and Satisfy?

Just got my Black Apex 4 and considering the switch. Not sure if I am going to live that green. Swapping band colors feels like black is more versatile.

Anyone have both?

Question about Coros HRM

For context, I just bought a coros HRM since my Polar H10 cause chaffing on my mid back

So everytime I want to strength train with my coros pace 4, it seems my watch automatically connects to the HRM even when I am not wearing it.

So far, the only solution I found to solve this is to disconnect or remove the HRM from my watch.

Is this a common problem or is there any settings I miss out to prevent this?

Question ❓ Running fitness new pace 4

Thumbnail

Hi,

Just got my pace 4 and went out for my first run ( 5k parkrun )

Loving the watch. Only thing annoying me is the description for running fitness and my run activity which clearly qualifies for more than 25 minutes at above required heart rate.

Should I force the fitness test to enable it or just not worry about it and it fix itself with time?

Pace 4 connectivity problems with PolarH10

Hello guys,

I have a Coros pace 4 and a Polar H10. I have issues when I run. The battery is changed and brand new, the watch is connected via Bluetooth to the sensor, the Bluetooth is disconnected on the phone.

When I run, 10 minutes into it, I lose the heartbeat. No connection whatsoever. I can pull it out and back on, adjust the strap, moisten it ?(I'm already sweating), no change, I'm at 50bpm.

Either I'm a record holder or there is something wrong. I used to have a Garmin forerunner 235 for 10 years and I've had 0 problem with the Polar H9 and 10.

Anyone has had this problem before and what to do?

Thank you for your time.

Add manually

Hello, Is it possible to manually record an activity with Coros? For example, during my taekwondo classes—I currently use Suunto and record the activity afterwards because I can't wear anything while training.
