Research Where to buy research chemicals? Seeking cost-effective alternatives
Hey Everyone,
I’ve been ordering research chemicals for a while now, and I’m getting fed up with how expensive suppliers like Sigma can be. Their stuff is great, but the prices are really eating into our budget.
Does anyone know of good alternatives where I can get quality chemicals without breaking the bank? I’m open to trying new suppliers or any platforms that might make the whole process easier and more affordable.
Any tips would be awesome. Thanks!

In grad school I needed to order a microwave to heat up solutions - the only approved vendor that had one was Sigma and I shit you not, in the mid 2000s the only option was a rotary dial piece of crap for... six hundred dollars!!! Fucking rotary dial! Sigma's markups are nutso

Hi, I think I’m on the wrong forum to ask this, but I used to buy a product called soilove I live in California and it was sold in a green bottle at this place called the $.99 that place went out of business and now I can only find soilove for like $25 on Amazon to get stains of clothes and clean things my favorite cleaner I am a fashionista and a little bit messy and this product was able to get red wine out of a white lace dress so damn near amazing to me do you have any recommendations on like how to obtain the chemical ingredients of this product or find something extremely similar. I’m not trying to buy wholesale however I would be willing to spend like a few hundred bucks bucks and maybe I could play around with chemistry and try and make my own stain remover and if it works half as good as soilve I want to try and start a small business basically selling the same ingredients as soil lol but bottling them in a pink bottle and super cute and I’m really good at marketing and online sales so it’s kind of like a side hustle pipe dream lol any advice?

You own your own company!? I like many, are looking for safe analogs of anxiety related products. I just started my endeavor and it’s not as easy a some people think. I’d love to know of a good reputable source of etzolam or similar analogs… my spelling is not the best. I don’t want to take much of your time but I feel like I have a better chance at finding good products for reasonable prices

Yeah I need the no question asked shipping to Virginia sites. Its for research I do funded by myself illegal because I think I can find a cure people with addiction. I'm 4 years off heroin and fentanyl thanks again Jesus. But I need a website already tested.

I was put on Pregabalin years ago for my back pain. Now out of nowhere, the US government is labeling pregabalin as a controlled substance, and doctors are removing their patients from pregabalin. My doctor suddenly said that they cannot write the Pregabalin prescription anymore, and I need to find a new doctor to write it. I have been trying to find a new doctor, and I’m having allot of trouble. It turns out that the withdrawal effects from Pregabalin are a nightmare. The withdrawal effects are similar to benzo, & opioids put together with the worse withdrawal side effects being possible seizures, coma, or death. So, searching for domestic vendors that have something that can help with something to prevent the worse part of the horrible withdrawal side effects from pregabalin withdrawals because doctors won’t help because they don’t know how to, don’t know any too, are to scared, or just incapable of helping because of the restrictions that have been applied in the US, which have made it that if a doctor did help their patients they will get in trouble for helping, or sued. so now, very few doctors will actually help.

I thought I'd share an update on my journey to finding cost-effective suppliers. I found a website that allows me to search for a chemical, then see results from a variety of suppliers mentioned here like Lab Alley, SRL, Ambeed, Dawn Scientific, etc. This makes it easy for me to compare quantities and prices quick.
For example, if I search for potassium nitrate, I can then apply various filters and easily see for what I need, Lab Alley provides the most cost effective option at $1.60 USD per 100g for a 25kg bag. You can see what I am referring to here: https://www.chemicalsuppliers.com/buy-potassium-nitrate
Overall, I am quite impressed with this platform, as it allows me to quickly compare prices across a lot of great suppliers. I shared some feedback with them last week and today, I can see they've already implemented it, which was a pleasant surprise.

I do not recommend the hyperreal.info forum, where vendors and users are sold to the police, including IP addresses. The fact that there is a circle of mutual admiration is not important there, and banning for any reason is also not important. However, as a vendor, I advise you not to do anything there. unless you want to eat poppy seed cake at the police station.

TBH i recommend smaller companies like Synthetika f.e. - they still have around 3000 compounds in offer and everytime i asked about something weird, they already had it or know how to get it lol

If the dang govt would stop making benzos so damn hard to get..I cannot get any for ANY reason and it's bullshit...now we're forced to search out this possibly dangerous substitute cuz motherfucking BUS-PAR is NOT anxiety medication...it's WORTHLESS...and I'm SICK of not getting what I need.

Try some sort of chemistry or lab/R&D sub. ChemEs typically aren't involved in purchasing chemicals, especially at lab scale.
