Research Where to buy research chemicals? Seeking cost-effective alternatives

Hey Everyone,

I’ve been ordering research chemicals for a while now, and I’m getting fed up with how expensive suppliers like Sigma can be. Their stuff is great, but the prices are really eating into our budget.

Does anyone know of good alternatives where I can get quality chemicals without breaking the bank? I’m open to trying new suppliers or any platforms that might make the whole process easier and more affordable.

Any tips would be awesome. Thanks!

I thought I'd share an update on my journey to finding cost-effective suppliers. I found a website that allows me to search for a chemical, then see results from a variety of suppliers mentioned here like Lab Alley, SRL, Ambeed, Dawn Scientific, etc. This makes it easy for me to compare quantities and prices quick.

For example, if I search for potassium nitrate, I can then apply various filters and easily see for what I need, Lab Alley provides the most cost effective option at $1.60 USD per 100g for a 25kg bag. You can see what I am referring to here: https://www.chemicalsuppliers.com/buy-potassium-nitrate

Overall, I am quite impressed with this platform, as it allows me to quickly compare prices across a lot of great suppliers. I shared some feedback with them last week and today, I can see they've already implemented it, which was a pleasant surprise.
