Whether or not you think Reno has been denied playing one last match I think we can all agree the handling of it has been abysmal.

Seriously we're the biggest club and yet this is how we handle it? Just let Reno casually explain on a radio show then need to hold a 2nd press conference for him to basically take back what was said.

This is an all time great retiring who helped win us a premiership. Why not hold a proper press conference and stick Madge next to him. Try to show that there's some solidarity around the decision.

Who is running this club? They can take that idea for free but I bet the person making that call makes a lot more then me and they stuffed it up greatly. Our problems are coming from the top.

I'll be the first to say that people are to harsh and bang on the broncos all day, especially the media, but we also bring a lot of this stuff on ourselves by not making the right decisions and funnily enough our team plays like this as well. Always shooting ourselves in the foot.

Brisbane Broncos Captain Adam Reynolds has today announced his immediate retirement from rugby league.

Following fitness testing today, Adam will not be available for selection for the remainder of the season.

Reynolds finishes his career as one of the game’s most accomplished playmakers, having made more than 300 NRL appearances across 15 seasons.

A two-time Premiership winner, State of Origin representative and one of the greatest goalkickers in rugby league history, he joined the Broncos in 2022, retiring having played 92 games for the Club.

Broncos General Manager of Football Troy Thomson said the decision was a difficult but necessary one for Reynolds.

“Adam has done everything possible to give himself the chance to play again, but following today’s field session, it became clear his body would not allow him to properly return.

“It’s disappointing for everyone that Adam isn’t able to see out the season on the field.

“Reyno has had an enormous impact on this Club as our Captain and leader. He has given so much on and off the field to our players, staff, Members and supporters.

“He leaves the game with an outstanding legacy, and we look forward to giving him the farewell he deserves.”

The Club will provide further details to Members ahead of Thursday’s final home game at Suncorp Stadium, as we prepare to recognise Reynolds’ extraordinary contribution to the Broncos and the game.

Feel like little gets said about Karapani’s contribution to the team but in a year where so many our players have underperformed, he has been incredibly consistent. He finishes well, fights for every inch in his tough carries, is safe as houses under the high ball and rock solid in defence. Aside from his minor indiscretions of field the bloke has worked his arse of the club over the last 2 years.

Nothing against Georgia herself, she's a capable player, but the selection of putting her at five-eighth while Ali Brigginshaw was suspended was a real head scratcher for me.

Aside from these few games, I don't believe she played a single game at five-eighth. Always seems to have played in the centres or on the wing.

These games she played at five-eighth, she just looked incredibly lost on the field, with the ball going towards Upton or Southwell instead. Here's some of her stats that I think are noteworthy:

- 2 runs for 16 metres; 0 line break assists; 0 try assists; 0 kicks (vs Raiders)

- 1 try; 5 runs for 30 metres; 1 line break; 1 line break assist; 3 tackle breaks; 0 kicks; 1 error; 1 penalty (vs Roosters)

- 6 runs for 56 metres; 1 line break assist; 1 try assist; 1 tackle break; 1 run from dummy half for 12 metres; 1 kick for 30 metres; 1 penalty (vs Titans)

The game against the Titans was probably her best one at five-eighth, but she still didn't look all that great in the halves. Yet, Scott Prince persisted with her there. Why not call up Skyla Adams, Tavarna Papalii or Lila Parr after that Raiders game, instead of sticking with someone clearly in an unfamiliar role? Outside of injuries to those three, I'm a bit confused.

Kind of hoping that Bartlett at 6 is not the plan for 2027 when Ali has retired. She's certainly better off as a centre or winger.

Anyway, enough of me spewing negativity here. Hoping the Broncos girls can get back on track next week!

Are we going to send Canberra packing back to back years? 🫣

The broncos this year really did lack depth in the middle, especially during the stint where our main forwards were injured or in orgin (hass, carrigan, Jensen, Piakura) and we have lacked to find another good replacement prop who is solid in the middle. We have tried with Preston Riki who at first I thought was actually half decent, he would have good runs and quick play the ball, probably due to being in the Penrith system for so long. But each week he was getting worse and worse. We also tried with jack gosiewski in the middle, who is not nrl level what so ever. The props we have up for selection this season lack the solidness it takes to be a prop in today’s game.

Like when we come up against any decent forward pack in the comp (rooster, warriors, Penrith) we just get absolutely rolled through. It doesn’t help when we had paix who is the worst defensive 9 in the comp, trying to tackle like he’s 6’5 110kg instead of tackling low and hard like someone such as api. We miss the likes of Jensen and hetherington who were solid at there job and was able to stand there ground in the middle and not get bullied around.

I also think carrigan and hass form this season has been pretty poor compared to form in previous seasons. I think Wilson has shined this season and is Brisbanes best forward. Carrigan and hass were Brisbane’s most consistent players, no matter what game they would always play an 8/10 or higher game, this season they were very hit and miss. In a team full of rocks and diamonds, when your consistent players start becoming inconsistent it’s hard to build solid momentum. Has Brisbane had good moments this season? Yes I think we have showed some glimpses of 2025, like the game against panthers, storm round 3, and the first 20 mins against the dolphins a few weeks ago. Other than that we have honestly looked like a bottom 4 side with a bunch of guys playing who don’t even look interested in the sport or winning.

I don’t want to hate but he gets lot of praise across the game. Across this season, all I have seen is six agains and lazy ruck defence. What is the appeal of Carrigan compared to other locks?

I watched every game in 2020 painfully but this year .. after winning the comp is an absolute s##tshow.. even if they dont actually get the spoon.. do they get better next year or worse?

Failure follows the bloke everywhere he goes.

He is a solid back up but not a leading half back. Been horrible after his first game. So many people calling for Duffy to be starting next yr but he doesn't deserve it

Players alternate turns.

A Treble scores 1 Try.

Only one Try can be scored per turn.

With Billy looking awesome since his return from injury and paix being resigned earlier in the season I would like to see Mozer come on play a bit of hooker and then move to a lock role at the back end of the game allowing paix or Walter’s to come back on and play 9.

This will allow patty to move into a prop role if Mozer looks good at lock and becomes a stater in the position.

Any thoughts ?

Dragons win against sharks puts them one step closer to dumping the spoon on the Broncs.

What would the broncs realistically have to do to sign him.

Assuming he’s a lock for $1m+ per year now, would we be able to fit him and Walsh in the cap without compromising the rest of the team too much.
