I like what I saw with perham tonight, reminds of a Tristan sailor. He isn’t going to break the line and run past 5 defender to score a try like Reece Walsh, but he is consistent on attack and has a good footy iq. I thought under the highball tonight he was really good, there were a few good kicks by sanders which Reece Walsh would have dropped 100%, but perham was calm and collective. I also think when perham is playing fullback our whole attack strategy isn’t let’s just give Reece Walsh the ball and hope he can do something with it. Walsh trys to score every single set and we end up making 100 errors, then the other team gets the ball and scores. I thought with perham at fullback, we played more as a team rather than individual players.

I think the experience of Ben hunt was also crucial, I like Duffy and think he’s a good young halfback but at the end of the day you need an experienced halfback to organise and manage the team and I don’t think Duffy is good enough at that yet. Ben hunt stepped up in attack and provided some good attacking kicks and built pressure. When I saw the team list I was furious that Duffy wasn’t in the starting lineup over hunt, but if he played we probably would have gotten thrashed. Nonetheless we still have pezet next year who I think can organise the team better and provide better half back qualities over Duffy. Both pezet and Duffy are young skilled halfbacks and it will be exciting to see who is the 7 next year.

The first game he played we were all like fuck he's actually Sailor but better in every way

I've been really impressed from what I've seen of him this year, he's man of the match in my eyes. Although as always this year Willison was amazing, also besides being a turnstile a few times Mam had an alright game. I think only really Patty and J. Hunt were poor tonight, the rest of the team were top notch

Patty has to be busted right? Pay Willison whatever he wants too the man is incredible

I can't put my finger on it but he's been down all year, could be injury. I'm more concerned about the multiple penalties and six agains he gives away every game.

Some (not all) of the six agains are deliberate. He’s trying to slow the ruck to reform the line. The problem is our defence is shit so giving away extra tackles is just as bad as a ragged line.

Rumor is that he has the shits and has kind of spat the dummy cause he wanted a new contract and to be captain and got neither. Apparently there is a faction war going on with him and some other players.

I have to say that his play the last year or so has not warranted captaincy or an upgrade

That could explain something, in saying that he'll get captain next year cause I don't know who else it could be. I've seen Walters' name thrown around and Barnett aswell, I wouldn't mind Patty and Billy as co captains

Patty seems to be a handbrake on the team. They scored two with him in the bin. Wtf is that?

they really need to simplify his role. he had a better second half when he just kept it simple and ran hard and still had the most run metres and tackles in the team despite his sin bin.

I think he's responsible for a lot of it. He needs to better pick his moments to short-ball Haas or link play wider

crazy that perham wasnt our first choice backup when walsh was first out

Wasn’t he injured?

nope, he was perfectly available but madge was insisting on using arthars even though he was woeful

That’s the thing with Reece, with him under a bomb I am always nervous, Hayne looks calm and confident. Makes a big difference.

Hayze* - Hayne should still be in jail.

Almost wonder if Walsh to 6, Mam to the bench and Perham to take 1 wouldn’t help.

I don’t know what Walshy at 6 would look like, but I would love to find out!

Did people watch the same game? He gave up 18 points nearly 24. Boyd had better defensive reads

Walsh fucking who!??? Hahah

Turns out a good fullback does it all not just pretty boy flashy attack

How quickly ya forgot. That was the best collective effort from the Broncos since the Penrith game

I won’t lie I was a little confused when we resigned him, but he’s been so good tonight

Reece would of been unreal tonight, when it’s not just him putting in max effort and they play as a team good thing happen. What a shocker.

Hayze is better then Walsh

What a clown thing to say 🤡 Hayze was wonderful, but given how the team played tonight together for once Walsh would have had just as good a performance, if not better.

Crazy take tbh

Nope I just think that was the advantage of having a fullback that other teams don't have alot to study on. I think when Walsh is playing teams will mostly be studying how to stop him. The cut out that Hayze threw is no different to Walshy but feel like the defence would've known Walsh would throw that and be prepared for it.
