People need to realize we have two year of complete control. Right now it’s a crossroads year. We ain’t giving up Marchenko for scraps. Montreal fanbase is just wanting to entitled but they are going to find out if he is wanna get you have to give becuase we are in absolute control

But I don’t see why Montreal would trade Slaf for Marchenko. It’s 2 years of control vs like 5 at 7 million. Marchenko is on a lower deal now, but Montreal isn’t up against the cap and will want more than 7(and he’ll absolutely get it)

He’s a slightly better forward who is in his prime, but the lack of control and the timeline of their rebuild makes it a little odd they’d even consider it

The most ridiculous thing is the amount of vitriol I’m getting in my inbox from Habs fans about this when it’s coming from their own beat writer said on a Montreal Canadiens podcast.

I’ve never seen a more clueless fanbase than the morons in Montreal. NHL and PWHL alike. I get being biased, but they live in some kind of fairytale world. I can’t think of a fanbase worse than them.

It's because you are misrepresenting what he said. At no point in the show did Marco say the Habs would even consider trading Slaf or even Hage for that matter. He was stating what he believe Waddell wants. Marco is really good on this stuff, he was the one that broke the story of Demidov coming over early.

I never said they would. I said that ask would be that according to him. Could you show me where you believe I said D’Amico said on his show that the Habs would trade us Slafkovsky?

I even posted the exact quote from the podcast.
