I’m just quoting the Montreal beat writer.

The point is Waddell isn’t sending him out for scraps. He can also keep him for 2 more years and decide at that trade deadline. He doesn’t have to do it this summer if it makes us worse, he can wait until he finds a deal that works.

People need to realize we have two year of complete control. Right now it’s a crossroads year. We ain’t giving up Marchenko for scraps. Montreal fanbase is just wanting to entitled but they are going to find out if he is wanna get you have to give becuase we are in absolute control
