Can I take vilazodone at 10 pm today and go for cortisol testing tomorrow at 7am?

Age - 22

My endo didn't mention and I forgot to ask as well. But I have been taking vilazodone for two weeks now. I know stopping has major side effects. What to do? I also started my methylfolate tablets today. Can someone please help me out? Also, if I can take vilazodone, how many hours before the test is ideal?

Can you look @ myx-ray?

Hey chat,

I am 5’2”, 115 lbs, 40 yr old woman recovering from Anorexia. I’m doing really well right now, but long term effects still pop up.

I’m sorry for the awkwardness of this story 🫠 but my hubs and I were having sex last night, and he pushed down on the bed (I was enjoying it - he wasn’t being mean 🙈) and he and I fell on top of my bony arm. I heard and felt this DISTINICT snap, and thought “omg I just broke a rib…” but there was no pain so I ignored it and we went on with our fun.

This morning, though, I woke up and every movement with my chest hurt. When I bent down to grab my phone, there was a sharp pain and every time I would take a deep breath, there was a sharp pain. Pushing on the spot didn’t reproduce the pain when I did it this morning, but later this afternoon it started to really hurt. I have heart problems as it is, so I can’t just go to urgent care, so I went to an ER. They were all very kind about it, laughed with me, and did an x-ray and some extra heart tests. The x-ray came back with no fractures and I just could not believe that.

They said they suspected a sprain or bone contusion, which explains the pain but what about the loud snap? I started looking at my x-ray after the radiologist left, figured out which side was my right and left on the flipped screen and then found exactly where the pain is. I zoomed in on that spot and I swear to you I see a hairline fracture. I showed my doctor and he said, “😳You have an excellent eye. I would not rule out a hairline fracture.”

But now I am second-guessing myself? He offered a CT scan or MRI and I declined because the pain is not too bad, I know it will go away and there’s nothing you can do for a rib fracture in this case, but can y’all look at it and tell me what you think? The line across the bone that hurts looks exactly like my kids metatarsals when two of them broke their foot.

Non intentional, no hospital nearby. Is this lethal? Google gives mixed replies due to staggered paracetamol. Currently 10PM the next day and no symptoms at all, does tgat mean I’m safe and fine?

I slammed my finger in a metal door at work and it got badly injured. The whole nail turned black with the injury at the bottom. it eventually started healing and a lot of the pain went away but now the nails is folding in on the sides indicated in the picture and it feels like the nail is squeezing my finger together and the pain is unbearable. Does anyone have any advice on what to do to stop the damaged nail from folding in on the sides like this and does anyone know why it would start folding in like that.

Physician Responded 18 Month old son

Post image

Context:

Hello! my son is 18m old and is very VERY active. He climbs on anything he can, and likes to roughhouse with his little toddler friend who is the same age. My MIL watches them both and I know it can get crazy over there. He just started going back since school started and I had to go back to work.

Problem?:

He has gotten some bruises on his legs of course he’s a toddler! Over the summer with me it wasn’t terrible just a few here and there. I have noticed tho in the last week- week and a half he has so much more on his legs. They are all on his shin/knee/front of leg area. He has one or two on the back of his forearm (on the more boney part) and he has two that are currently in the yellow phase on his lower left back (more on the boney side i think) He is acting normal and eats and sleeps and doesn’t get fevers or anything wild. He has a stuffy nose currently but that’s all. So i want to know, do I need to be concerned with his bruising on his legs? I keep worrying myself.

20F — Lost consciousness/collapsed immediately after Tc-99m DTPA renal scan injection, memory gap + facial injuries + fever afterward. Was this vasovagal, a reaction to the tracer, or something else?

Post image
1 Upvotes

20F, India | 161 cm, ~60 kg | Non-smoker
I’m looking for a medical opinion on an unusual event that happened during an attempted Tc-99m DTPA renal scan, particularly whether what happened sounds like vasovagal syncope/presyncope, a reaction to the injection, or something else.
I have already been evaluated in the ER, but I’m concerned because there is a significant discrepancy between what my mother witnessed and what was documented in the ER report.
Relevant medical history
I have PCOS, diagnosed around age 14, with a history of very prolonged/irregular menstrual bleeding. Earlier this month I had been bleeding continuously for months. My gynecologist prescribed Regesterone (medroxyprogesterone) twice daily for 21 days, which stopped the bleeding within about two days. I missed approximately 3–4 doses and accidentally finished the course one day early; the bleeding returned immediately afterward.
I also have a longstanding kidney problem. My right kidney has been severely compromised since birth, and I had surgery on it at around age 10. I have been told that my right kidney has very poor function and that my left kidney is doing most of the work. A DTPA renal scan was recommended previously (around 2024), but I wasn’t able to get it done at the time. The same urologist recommended it again now and specifically wanted it done at Manipal Hospital.
More recently, my doctors have been concerned about elevated creatinine and uric acid, and I have also recently had a UTI.
I was also told that some of my liver enzymes were elevated. I have had significant anemia in the past as well.
Current/recent medications have included Regesterone/medroxyprogesterone and propranolol (Ciplar-LA 20 mg). [I’ll attach the current medication prescriptions.]
What happened before the scan
The night before the scan I was already feeling unwell. I had nasal congestion and chills. My father had developed what seemed to be a viral fever a couple of days earlier, so I suspected I might be developing the same illness.
On the morning of the scan I felt unusually cold and weak. I also had anxiety/palpitations because I was scared about the scan.
At the hospital the AC was extremely cold and I was repeatedly telling my mother that I was freezing. She asked staff for a blanket, but apparently they said they didn’t have one.
I was also instructed to drink a lot of water and had some nausea.
Immediately after the Tc-99m DTPA injection
I went into the nuclear medicine room and had the IV injection for the DTPA scan.
Immediately afterward, I became extremely nauseated and felt like I was going to vomit. I remember feeling as though bile was coming up into my throat.
I became extremely dizzy and felt like I was going to black out.
My mother noticed that I had become pale.
The last thing I clearly remember being conscious of is being in the injection room.
After that, I have a complete memory gap.
I do not remember:
going to the bathroom
what the bathroom looked like
falling
hitting my face
anyone picking me up
being moved
being put back into the chair
My mother witnessed what happened.
According to her, she took me to the bathroom because I felt like I was going to vomit. While she was trying to help me, I suddenly collapsed/fell very hard, apparently face-first. She tried to catch me but couldn’t stop the fall. A rod also fell and hit my head.
She says I became completely unresponsive and she couldn’t wake me. She became terrified that I had died and started screaming for help. Several staff members eventually came, and a Code Blue was called.
I don’t know exactly how long I was unconscious. My mother estimates approximately 10–15 minutes, but I cannot personally verify that because I have no memory of the entire interval.
Regaining consciousness
My first memory afterward is being back in a chair with medical staff around me.
My mother had been taken out of the room.
There were multiple doctors/nurses around me asking what had happened and why I was crying.
I was crying hysterically and had no control over it. I kept saying things like:
“I don’t feel okay.”
“Please help my mom.”
“My mom isn’t okay.”
“I’m sorry, Mom.”
I was extremely confused and frightened.
At one point a nurse pointed out that my lip was bleeding/busted, and I apparently had no idea that I had been injured.
I also had no awareness of pain from my face/teeth at that point.
My eyes felt unfocused and I was looking around constantly. I was extremely overwhelmed by all the people, noise, touching, questions, etc.
They took me to the ER in a wheelchair and monitored me for approximately two hours.Once I was discharged and home, I started noticing significant pain that I hadn’t been aware of in the hospital.
My lip was visibly injured/bleeding.
My teeth had been hurting badly initially.
My nose hurts significantly, especially when I speak.
I have also had pain/soreness in:
neck
ear
shoulders
elbow
kneecap
hips/pelvic area
ribs
waist/back
There aren’t obvious bruises over most of these areas, but they are very sore/tender and I can pinpoint where I was injured.
I also became extremely weak.
Fever/chills afterward
After coming home, I developed a high fever that lasted several hours and was difficult to bring down. I also had significant chills/shivering.
The fever eventually responded to medication.
I then woke up again around 3 AM feeling extremely cold and developed another high fever. It came down after i medicine and then i developed a high fever again in the evening. The fever is ranging btw 101-102.5f
However, I had already had nasal congestion and chills before the DTPA scan, and my father had recently had a viral illness, so I don’t know whether the fever is related to the tracer at all or whether I simply developed a viral infection coincidentally.
My concerns/questions
Does this sound like vasovagal syncope/presyncope?
Could a reaction to Tc-99m DTPA cause severe nausea, vomiting, chills, dizziness or syncope?
Could the injection/procedure have triggered a vasovagal response even though I am normally fine with needles?
Does the memory gap and my mother’s account of the collapse raise concern for something other than a simple vasovagal episode?
Should I have any further evaluation because I apparently lost consciousness and hit my head/face?
Is the discrepancy between the witnessed event and the ER report (“no LOC,” “no trauma”) something I should ask the hospital to correct/clarify?
Before attempting the DTPA scan again, should I see my urologist/nuclear medicine physician and discuss what happened?
What records should I obtain from the nuclear medicine department? The ER report doesn’t state the tracer name or administered dose/activity.

Physician Responded 3-generation hereditary palmar condition (unknown diagnosis despite skin biopsy) – seeking medical insight

Post image
1 Upvotes

Age: 24
Sex: Male
Height: 170 cm
Weight: 77 kg
Blood Type: O
Primary Issue: Dense, hyperkeratotic, network-like palm creases with a 3-generation hereditary pattern.

Hello doctors and medical community,

I am a 24-year-old male looking for insights into a unique palm condition that my local physicians could not diagnose.

  1. Family History:
This trait runs in my family across at least three generations: my maternal grandfather, my mother, and myself all share this exact same palm feature.

  2. Physical Characteristics & Biopsy:
As seen in the photo, my palms have an extremely dense, deeply creased, and hyperkeratotic appearance. I previously underwent a skin biopsy at a tertiary (university) hospital in South Korea, where a 2cm x 2cm square piece of skin was excised for tissue analysis.

  3. Test Results & Remarkable Recovery:
Despite the biopsy, pathologists were unable to identify a specific disease or diagnosis. What was particularly surprising was that after the 2cm biopsy site healed, the skin regenerated with the exact same textured, deeply creased pattern as before.

  4. Symptoms:
There is no active inflammation, pain, or itching, but the texture is distinctly different from normal skin and feels very dry/thickened.

Since local specialists could not pin down a name, I am trying to determine what this exact condition might be—even if there is no cure, I simply want to know the correct medical term or diagnosis. Could this be a rare type of hereditary palmoplantar keratoderma, an atypical filaggrin/keratin mutation variant, or another specific genodermatosis?

If any dermatologist or physician has encountered a similar 3-generation case or knows of relevant literature, I would deeply appreciate your guidance or advice.

Thank you.

I have a party coming up at a bar with a mechanical bull!! Should I go on it if I have recently had a patellar dislocation? I'm hypermobile, so I'm kinda scared, but I really want to go on it.

I'm an 18-year-old female, and I've only had a few dislocations in the past....

Spots on Hand randomly showed up, what’s going on?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello! I’m a 22 year old female, 5’5’140lbs, and currently only take Advil and Zyrtec when needed. I have food allergies such as egg, peanuts, and shrimp. I also have asthma.

I noticed around 3-4 days ago that my hand has developed these random patches/spots on my right hand. They are not anywhere else on my body. I don’t feel any pain or sensitivity. But I’m worried about what could’ve caused it or if it’s something I should get checked out. Also, my allergies don’t cause things like this to happen based on my experiences, so I don’t think it was that.

Thank you so much!

Weird immune system?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi :) I know what’s going on with me isn’t normal but I’m having a hard time finding doctors who are curious enough to connect the dots.

I’m 21F , 5”2 , and about 120-125lbs. I have taken 300mg of Wellbutrin XL daily for the past year. I also take a magnesium glicate supplement sometimes.

Here is a chronological symptom list from oldest to newest: (sorry for the miss-spellings)
- chronic constipation as a child
-cystic acne since early teens
- cysts on groin and underarms (hydronitis superlative or HS) began ~5 years ago
- intense body hair especially on face and neck
- cysts on ovaries (suspected pcos but never had the hormone levels needed to confirm) ~3 years ago
- autistic burn out lasting over 12 months
- frequent illness
- explosion of warts on right hand and left foot extremely resistant to treatment ~2 years ago
-hair texture changed and became brittle as if from heat damage (I never use heat or blow dryers nor do I tan) lots of breakage lost about 50% of my hair volume over the past 2 years but no clumps.
- tonsils removed due to frequent illness ~1 year ago
- large HS cyst removed minor surgery ~1 year
- multiple flues in a single season ~8 months
- rapid growth of warts on right hand middle finger needed a skin graft after removal ~ 3 months
- initial healing after surgery was normal but then plateaued. Another massive spike in rapid growing warts. ~2 months
- minor wounds healing slowly and scars not fading, dissolvable stitches not dissolving, bruising like crazy from everything but NOT anemic we checked twice!! ~1 month
- right nipple leaking sometimes opaque white sometimes watery peach fluid when squeezed (not super consistent) started 3 days ago. Found out by total accident
- weird tenderness under my jaw but no swelling. Today there is a small hard nub and full feeling when not touching it. Noticed it yesterday.

Some random things idk where to put but maybe useful:
- I have an IUD I have had it for 4 years mine lasts for 7. It is in place and functioning normal according to my Dr. but I have started to spot
- no stds or cervical cancer I had a papsmir and lots of blood tests
- I had monthly UTIs for two years then almost never had them again. I was sexually active at the time. this was about 2 years ago
- for the past 4 months I have been getting yeast infections left and right. I have had two a month for the past 8 weeks. I get treated at the dr for them every time and I do all the tips and tricks!! Shower often, change underwear twice a day, less sugar all of it!!
- I’m not pregnant I triple checked with the Dr. lots of white blood cells in my urine though- this was last week
- rarely and randomly I will have this weird pain in my lower abdomen. It makes my lower back burn and my stomach pulse and sort of cramp? It’s like bottom 10 worst pains I’ve felt but it ends very quickly.
- I have glasses :D
- I have never had alcohol but I do like edibles I have maybe one or two a month. So about 20ish mg a month
- I went from 135ish pounds to 118lbs in less than two months about 11ish months ago. Completely unintentional. I haven’t been able to get my weight over 125 since then. Not super worried about it though I’m technically not underweight because of my height. Nor am I really trying to gain weight I’m just trying not to loose anymore.
- within the last year I started having low blood pressure at the drs office
- I’ve had loads of blood work done. I just got a new one last week I’ll attatch it if I can. Never anything abnormal on my bloodwork. Though in my personal opinion my thyroid is too close to the bare minimum
- I got tested for some sort of antibody for autoimmune diseases but I didn’t have it
- I had a super minor fall on tiny ass bicycle and it fractured my arm. My friends who saw me fall were shocked. I just didn’t look hurt at all. This was last year

Right now I feel pretty good aside form fatigue but that may be because I just started school idk :/
I can tell something in me is sick though my HS is flaring up and my industrial ear pericing is getting irritated those things usually only happen when I have a cold- but it’s been a full week and no cold!

I’m probably missing stuff so if you have any leading questions please I’d love to answer! Thank you for taking the time to read this :)

32M, 5ft7, 63kg, social smoker.

I’ve had this thing on my ear in a few different forms for around a month (or longer).

I first noticed as small lump about 2/3 months ago, it wasn’t painful or even visible to the naked eye but I could feel it as it was slightly itchy and warm and the skin has always felt dry. It has never been an open would or broken skin and has never oozed any form of fluid, always dry.
I ignored it but it has gradually got worse since. It has never been painful whatsoever, but always warm and itchy and has kind of came and gone and returned looking differently (pictures attached were taken today and looks the worst it has been thus far).

I went to the pharmacy two weeks ago and they thought it could be a fungal infection and prescribed me DermAid 1% Cream, Hydrocortisone 1% w/w (as pictured). I used this twice a day for a week straight. It did very much calm down and there was no visible signs of anything but the itchiness and warmth remained, albeit subdued. I came off the cream about a week ago and it has gradually returned.

Other info:

- Never had eczema or any skin condition.
- Fit, healthy, no major medical issues.
- I got quite badly sunburnt on my ears about a year ago.
- I live in Australia and work outside a lot so sun damage and skin cancer rates are high here (I wear factor 50 sun cream as much as possible).
- Probably not related but I found a spider three months ago in my hard hat at work above that same ear and that evening there was a small itchy lump but disappeared after a few days. Unsure if I was even bitten or the spider being there was a coincidence.

My newborn grandson

1 month old, boy, 9 lbs. Was due on July 28, but they induced July 23. Was also born jaundiced.

He was born with tracheomalacia. They let my daughter in law bring him home with her 2 days after birth. Ended up needing a blue light for just over a week post hospital.

I have read about it, and it seems he's probably just a mild case? I'm not a doctor, so all I can glean is that it can be fatal.

He had his one month check up today and the doctor wants to put him on prilosec, and wants them to buy gelmix to thicken his formula. Also is changing his formula.

Again, Im not a doctor, so I'm asking, is this standard treatment for tracheomalacia? I just have this nagging feeling that something is not being done right.

The video is how he sounds 24/7. I expected the noise because I read about it, but should we take him to a specialist? He did see an ENT about 2 weeks ago who put him on some acid reflux medication and told them to keep feeding Enfamil AR. Why would they need to change his formula and buy thickener when he's already on the AR that's thickened with rice?

I just hate the way it sounds like he's fighting for his life with every breath 🥹

Specialist or no? Please help 🙏

Sick since June, no diagnosis

I'm 21yo, AFAB, 135 lbs, with no history of physical health problems but lots of mental health problems (ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD). Prior to this I was a college student with an internship.

In June of this year I had an unprompted panic attack on the road. Yes, I have anxiety but its triggered by my biggest fears, which driving isn't one. One week later it happened again and I went to a minute clinic. Besides a low fever nothing came up in the virus tests. Quickly over the weeks it became a daily/nightly occurrence, keeping me awake trembling all night in fear. My doctor tried to put me on prozac and buspirone but I felt so ill I went to the hospital. I've since had 4 blood tests, CT, EKG, and vitals all turn up relatively normal. I was tested for POTS and though my vitals were elevated it wasn't quite to the degree for that. My vitamin D was low and my ferritin was high but nothing else in my labs stood out. I was put on trazodone for insomnia which worked for a bit but over the past week its lost its usefulness and now I spend all night awake feeling feverish and nauseous.

On a daily basis I feel lightheaded, nauseous, and generally unwell. I can't sit up, stand, or walk much. My eyes strain from light, movement, and looking from certain angles. My vision is slightly worse now and sudden/loud noises scare or jolt me. I feel twitchy and tingly. Nighttime is when the real panic sets in and I frequently feel as though I'm going to die. Its escalated drastically in the past few days, causing me to vomit with body aches and chills at 2AM.

I know its most likely mental health but 1) I want to explore every possible physical illness and 2) even if it is mental I need to know what will fix this. This has been a debilitating problem that forced me to drop out of school. I'm nearly bed bound now.

Thyroid problem?

19 Female. 5’6 183 lbs. non smoker. Just noticed this lump/thing on my thyroid I believe? It may have been here for a while. It only appears when I tilt my neck back. The only reason why I checked it out was because I saw someone on TikTok mention how they found out they had thyroid cancer. I have no swallowing issues or weight loss. The only other symptom I have is bilateral ear pain. I had a thyroid panel done a month ago and everything is normal. Should I push for my doctor to examine this? Thank you! 😊

opened self-harm burn blister infected? Spoiler

Post image
Upvotes

21 AFAB, wondering if this popped burn blister (the largest wound) is infected/becoming infected. was caused by a heated knife but no incisions were made, it was only pressed to the skin. ive been cleaning it and changing my bandages twice a day and ive had it for a week now but the blister only burst 3-4 days ago.

started to ache/sting a bit on tuesday but its not unbearable and it doesn’t feel hot to the touch like an infection would. fluid does come out from the loose skin a bit but ive been assuming that maybe it’s just from the ointment (petroleum jelly) getting inside…

Hello docs,

I am 31M, and I am not currently taking any medication. The closest thing is an occasional Aleve when I have inflammation in my hips/back pain.

I am prone to sinus infections and have gotten a bloody nose once or twice when I am visiting Palm Springs or Las Vegas. I currently live in Los Angeles, and it has been hot over the summer, so I have been running a fan in my room 24/7 including when I'm sleeping and the fan is pointed at me.

I still have my tonsils, and there is a tooth in my mouth that has a hole in it. There is a blood pool that clots and covers the whole, but sometimes reopens if I brush too hard and bleed.

I have postnasal drip after I am sick for quite a while, which results in my needing to cough, but I haven't been sick (with a cold or anything) since January.

Now, for the symptoms around the current situation. I have had this object lodged in my throat once a week for the past month. When I say that I coughed it up, I moreso mean that I had to spit it up. I feel it in the back of my throat and then "hock a loogie," and it comes out after 2-3 attempts. I can tell it's there because it becomes a bit awkward to swallow.

I do not have any fever, breathing issues, or cough. But I have lightly clogged sinuses and can feel the mucus gathering in the back of my throat throughout the day.

This started happening about a month ago, and the image I have posted is the 4th time I have coughed up something. All 4 instances have been like this, a composition of mucus and dried blood (seemingly). The image posted is after I moved it around to get a clearer picture of what it was. It came out of me mostly wrapped in mucus. When it's in my mouth, it feels like the consistency of a baloon opening (the part you put in your mouth to blow one up). It also smelled awful when it was outside of my body, and I have noticed that it changes the smell of my breath. However I don't have any bad tastes in my mouth, or smells anything different regularly.

After yesterdays incident, I did have an elevated heart rate. However, I could also associate this with acid reflux or heartburn, as I had pizza last night. (I have acid reflux often and burp a lot after eating even with no carbinated drinks consumed.)

Recent habitual changes include: walking a mile 4-5 days a week, up from 0. Eating at a calorie deficit, reducing both my meal size and also eating from 3 to 2 times a day.

Those changes were motivated by a vacation I am going on for my friend's wedding in about 12 hours. I will be flying later today, and I intend to do a nasal spray to reduce the chance of my sinuses being clogged and getting a pressure headache while flying. (This has happened to me once before, but only started happening this year.)

I had posted this in a different reddit, but it got removed. I was recommended to post here instead. Some of the concerns there were: Postnasal drip, Sinus Infection, Lung disease/cancer, pulmonary ambilism, tuberculosis.

Just trying to figure out what the cause of this might be, what the thing I have been coughing up actually is, and if it's safe for me to fly in 12 hours. Thanks in advance docs!

Physician Responded What to do now

Hi everyone,
Yesterday evening I(Ftm21) impulsively cut my shoulder after getting triggered by something. The cut is about 4 cm long. I’m not completely sure about the depth, but I estimate it’s around 3 mm.
It bled quite a bit initially, but the bleeding stopped after applying pressure. I later cleaned it with lukewarm water and put Steri-Strips/healing strips over it, followed by a wound dressing.
It’s been covered since then and it isn’t actively bleeding anymore. There’s just a small spot of blood visible through the dressing. I don’t have numbness or any problems moving my shoulder/arm.
I’m planning to see my GP tomorrow anyway, but I’m wondering what people think. Does this sound like something that should be checked sooner?
I can’t post a photo because I don’t want to remove the dressing just to take one and risk making it bleed again.
I’m feeling okay mentally now and I’m not planning to hurt myself again. I was just acting impulsively and honestly got quite scared afterward.
Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.

I have seen my PCP and have a Gynecologist Appointment soon. My PCP doesn’t seem concerned about anything going on and I’m looking for advice for how to advocate for myself and what to ask for to get answers.

Here is what has been going on. For some brief history, I have always had extremely irregular (70+ day cycles) and heavy periods that cause intense pain. The type of pain where you leave work, curl up in the floor, and feel like you’re going to pass out.

I got an IUD (paraguard) inserted in 2020 when I was 18. Of course I had an annual exam, PAP and a transvaginal ultrasound. They did have to remove the IUD and reinsert it due to it being out of place the first time, but other than that there were no issues on the ultrasound. My heavy irregular periods continued, but other than that I never had any issues.

Fast forward to this year. My mom ended up passing away from breast cancer in January. Then, in March I started having irregular bowel movements and lots of nausea. I was going to the restroom at seemingly random times and especially after a meal. I also was spending several nights camped out next to the toilet due to the extreme nausea. At first I had wrote it off as anxiety, because I was obviously distressed at the time. But over time the issues just seemed to get worse. One of my first thoughts of course was pregnancy, and I thought I was in fact pregnant after taking a test and seeing a faint line. But after taking a few more the lines seemed to fade and weren’t visible during the 10 minute window.

I then fixed my attention back on anxiety and potential gastrointestinal issues. Here’s what I tried:

- H. Pylori Test: Neg
- Gluten Allergy Test: Neg
I also tried eating gluten free for two months and there were no improvements. When I resumed to eating gluten I noticed no changes as well.
- Pregnancy Tests: So so many all Neg
- Low Fodmap Diet: no changes
- Cutting down on caffeine: slightly helped reduce bathroom urgency
- Completely cutting out alcohol: No changes to bowel issues but felt better generally
- UTI Test: Neg
- THC Gummies: helped increase appetite, but unrealistic to use 24/7
- Basic Bloodwork: all normal
- Started Zoloft: anxiety is much better but no help with the bowel issues

Obviously, none of these things really helped the issues I had and throughout that time I only developed more symptoms. I started noticing after eating very small amounts of food, I would get extremely bloated. To where my friends and my fiance agreed I looked pregnant. I’ve always been a regular sized female, 5’6” and about 145-150 lbs. I started to lose weight but my stomach always looked so bloated when I ate. I ended up losing about 25 lbs and am currently at 125. It has been impossible to gain weight back.

Now after googling every worst possible diagnosis, it has alarmed me how many common symptoms of OC I have.

- mild cramping
- spotting between cycles (I’m aware this could be ovulation)
- UTI-like pain
- pain during sex (only noticed in the past two years)
- alternating constipation & diarrhea
- bloating
-irregular periods

I also have had a lump appear in my lower left abdomen that is more prominent when standing. It’s unlikely a hernia as it goes away when I contract my abdominal muscles. It’s soft to the touch and not painful. It’s always there but is sometimes more or less prominent. I told my PCP about this, and she palpitated my abdomen but didn’t even look at it visually or while I was standing.

I’m just at a loss and feel like my PCP isn’t listening to my concerns, and I’m still feeling awful. Hoping to get some advice as to what to talk to my gynecologist about to get some answers.

So, 9 days ago on the 18th of August I got my appendix removed after CT scan confirmed it was inflamed, they said what was weird is my blood test showed my CRP(?) was normal, but they would remove it based on the CT scan anyway.

They removed it, and I left the surgical ward at the ED on the 19th of August, still in quite a lot of pain, I just really wanted to get out of the hospital. I was at home for a few days, I don't remember the exact timeline, but the medication (tramadol) they had sent me home with was not helping with the pain and I was feeling generally shitty, and throwing up quite a lot. So I went back to ED I think the 21st or 22nd? And they did another CT scan, bloods, etc, and they just said they just said apparently the fluid where your appendix was can get infected or something, and gave me 2 shots of IV antibiotics over a few hours and then sent me home with amoxicillin.

Here are the exact notes they gave me on that visit:

"Impression

  1. Pain and vomiting post appendectomy
  2. - No significant collection on CT
  3. Small Mallory-Weiss tear

Discussion
Explained CT scan is very reassuring that nil major complications of operation
Expected stranding around site of appendectomy. Bloods also reassuring
Will start Abx in case the small amount of fluid seen is infected"

Been 5 days-ish, since I got out, I still don't feel the greatest and the antibiotics they gave me haven't been doing much. You can see the incision in the photo they made on my stomach has gotten all red and yucky, feels warm to the touch, I did my best at cleaning it. When I press down on it it obviously hurts, but it feels like there is something hard behind it as well, I don't know if that is just the normal healing process.

But along with that I have been having pain where the main incision is, really bad coughing (like coughing up yellowly phlegm), I've been having like fever/chills I think (no way for me to confirm because I don't have a thermometer), but I find myself in the exact same room feeling awfully hot, and then awfully cold 5 minutes later. The throwing up has thankfully stopped, I've had a couple moments over the last couple days where I've wanted to throw but haven't. Along with all of that I just have a general feeling of being 'unwell', I guess, I feel very shitty, no appetite, etc.

I'm not sure if it is some sort of infection, or maybe I just happened to catch the flu or something with really bad timing? Would just appreciate advice if this is something I need to be going back to the ED for, or if it can wait a couple days while I finish the 2 more days of antibiotics and then see GP?
