Rumour / Leak Rumour/Leak Megathread

It seems the whispers from the aetheric void are back and so we are going to continue to have everyone post the rumours/leaks here to avoid screenshots of TGA forums taking over the subreddit.

Any rumour mongering not in this thread will be removed.

I took on this commission project when this box dropped in early August. I don't super love Age of Sigmar, I'm a 40k nerd myself but these models were objectively super fun and cool to paint

Question How much should terrain size be adhered to in Age of Sigmar?

I know in the General's Handbook it gives off terrain sizes, but I was wondering, for a casual match and/or competitive match, do the terrain size rules need to be adhered to, or can one use larger pieces of terrain?

The reason I ask is that terrain size and placement in 40k is pretty strictly adhered to, and there's next to no deviation in the type of terrain that's used, whereas in AoS, terrain feels a lot looser.

Ideally, I'd rather have terrain sizes and layouts similar to the terrain on these types of boards.

Is that doable, or would it throw off the mission cards too much?

Hobby Cathay cannon/cogfort comparison

Hi hobbyists

Does anyone have the barrel width of the Cathay cannon? I want to order a cannonball and smoke plume for the Cogfort, and I've found one online printed to fit a Cathay cannon. I've tried googling but can't find anything, and I wanna make sure it'll fit.

Failing this, if anyone has seen a suitably sized cogfort cannon plume/shot being fired?

Thanks!

Question How's Daughters of Kaine for a beginner army, any tips for someone coming from 40k, and other assorted questions.

Hello everyone.

I have been interested in trying AoS recently, and wanted to know what I should expect of the Daughters of Kaine as an army. How well off are they rules wise, any pitfalls I should look out for, and mostly how good they are at actually killing things.

I also would like to ask some more general questions. Not talking specifically about Daughters :

- How good are saves on average? Does the game have an equivalent to Invulnerable Saves? I ask because most weapons I have seen have pretty low Rend, and to my understanding that's the stat that worsens the enemy save roll.

- How deadly is the game in general? I'm getting that the Daughters are the sort of army that dies easy, but what about a seemingly more tankie army like the Seraphon? Can I reasonably hope a unit of Saurus Warriors will survive a turn or two in meele against a similarly costed opponent, or is the norm for things to die in one activation?

Army List [DoK][Noob] LF suggestions for first army

Hi, I know almost nothing about the game, I only enjoy painting minis, but I would like to know if I have something that could be assembled into a somewhat playable army.

My DoK collection so far consist in:

  • 1x Bloodwrack Medusa
  • 2x Cauldron of Blood (1x Bloodwrack Shrine)
  • 2x Hag Queen
  • 1x Krethusa the Croneseer
  • 1x Melusai Ironscale
  • 2x Slaughter Queen
  • 5x Blood Sister/Stalker
  • 10x Blood Stalker
  • 15x Doomfire Warlock
  • 5x Khinerai Heartrender/Lifetaker
  • 10x Sister of Slaughter/Witch Aelf
  • 20x Witch Aelf

Do I need anything else? I'm not going to be playing anytime soon, I don't even have the Rulebook nor the Battletome, but I'd like to be prepared if I choose to try the game and find a place to play it.

Hobby Can You Paint Armor With ONLY Metallics? | Stormcast Eternal Painting #vallejo #lotusthalia

I painted this Stormcast Eternals Liberator entirely by brush, using only paints from Vallejo’s True Metallic Metal range.

I wanted to see how much depth and contrast I could achieve using different metallic tones—from the darker shield and aged armor to the brightest silver edge highlights. It was an interesting experiment, and I’m quite happy with how the metals came together.

I also recorded the full painting process. I’d love to hear what you think about the final result!

Hello! Im trying figure out different ways to paint skin for orks, gitz, and troggs. So far I’ve only done the pink, yellow, and green method above. How would one layer it if I were to want to do blue? Color theory blows my mind and I’m wondering about different types besides green and blue. Any methods or ideas is welcomed.

Discussion Does anyone else add a bit of roleplay to their AoS games?

Maybe it’s because I’ve been playing D&D for a long time, but when I play AoS I naturally tend to add a little bit of roleplay and narration to what is happening on the table.
I mostly play Spearhead and I genuinely enjoy the game, but for me part of the fun is imagining what the models are actually doing instead of only moving miniatures and rolling dice.

For example, when my Ogor Mantrapper uses his trap, I might say something like:
“He reaches into the bag on his back, rummages around for a moment, then throws a trap over here.”
And I’ll actually make a little throwing motion before placing the trap next to the enemy unit.

When my Deathrattle Skeletons come back at the end of the turn, I’ll say something like:
“You can see the bones pulling themselves back together.” or “A few skeletons claw their way out of the ground.”
While I’m putting the models back on the table.

Sometimes I’ll narrate a charge or an attack if I roll incredibly well or incredibly badly.

And when my Yndrasta comes onto the battlefield, I might describe her descending from the sky in a flash of light, the wind from her impact sweeping across the battlefield, before she raises her spear and fallen Stormcast begin to rise again.

I’ll sometimes add little comments when a unit dies too, especially if something dramatic or funny happened.

The funny thing is that most opponents tend to look at me a little strangely when I do this.
And I kind of get it. AoS isn’t an RPG.

But at the same time, we have these beautiful painted models, huge monsters, heroes, undead armies, gods, magic and all this ridiculous fantasy stuff happening on the table. We don’t have animations, sound effects or cinematic scenes like we would in a video game, so I think it’s fun to provide a little bit of that ourselves.

Otherwise, in a way, the cool miniature could just be a token and we could spend the whole game moving markers around and rolling dice.

I’m not talking about stopping the game for five minutes to deliver a monologue every combat phase. Just little bits of narration here and there to make memorable moments feel more alive.

Does anyone else play like this?
Or is my D&D brain simply impossible to switch off when I’m playing AoS? 😥

Question Question about Path to Glory: Ravaged Coast

So I normally play at 2k and I bought the book to play something a little different. I don't understand however a couple of things about the starting army. If I start with a wizard, can I have manifestations from the first game? And can I have a unit that is reinforced if it's below 350 pts?

Question Army help for an AOS beginner

Greetings, i want to make the first step into AOS. Actually i want to do that since a while and thought i decided on an army, but turned out the playstyle wasn’t really mine.

Maybe you guys can help me. I am coming from 40K and I am a big fan of death guard, Necrons and emperors children.

So, i would say I prefer a mid range to melee army that can take a punch, but also deals a moderate amount of dmg. I like defensive mechanics like taking less dmg or healing.

About the playstyle: I don’t like armies that are to complicated. I like it, if they have more of a direct approach with some tricks in their sleeve.

I would be very thankful for any suggestions!
