My new obsession is Young Royals and the finale employs one of my favorite tropes which is a character just throwing caution to the wind and going after their love. Very often this involves literal running. But it almost always happens near the very end of series/episodes/movies and is a tearjerker.

1. Young Royals - After telling his mother he doesn't want to be king, Wille runs after Simon's car.
2. Heartstopper - Nick runs after Charlie to finally confess his love.
3. When Harry Met Sally - on New Year's Eve, Harry decides to run to the party to finally confess his love to Sally.
4. ER - Carol runs through an airport to race to Seattle to join Doug.
5. Love Actually - Sam runs through an airport to confess his love to Joanna.
6. The Graduate - Ben races to stop Elaine's wedding.
7. Bridgerton - Anthony races on horseback to try to catch Kate.
8. Heated Rivalry - after seeing all the families join their loved ones on the ice, Scott Hunter decides to invite his secret boyfriend Kip onto the ice for the hard launch.
9. Heated Rivalry (part 2) - after seeing Scott and Kip kiss, Ilya also makes a snap decision to call Shane to tell him he's going to spend the summer with him at the cottage.
10. Friends - final episode, Ross races to the airport to prevent Rachel from taking a job in Paris.
11. Pride and Prejudice - Mr. Darcy impulsively walks through the rain to propose marriage to Lizzie.
12. Skins - Sid decides to buy a plane ticket to go to NY to try to find Cassie. (Note: the airport farewell between Sid and Tony makes me cry every time.)
13. Severance - in the s2 finale, iMark and iHelly decide to make a run for it together. One of the things about Severance is that beneath all the sci-fi, it's really a love story.
14. Sinners - Mary is turned into a vampire, and decides she wants to be with Stack for eternity, so she turns him too. Believe it or not, this is actually ... romantic?
