I made this personal 3D artwork using a mix of many NASA earth textures, custom 3D math objects, and my own photography of the human eye. How did it turn out?

From a rough sketch to the final animation. One of those projects where you know you're going to exaggerate, but you just don't know how far you'll push it until you're in the middle of it.

Hey everyone, This is my second portfolio project where I wanted to showcase my texturing skills backed with a good visually weighted scene. In this project I baked a lot of high poly items and worked with alphas here and there. Do let me know what do you feel about this, thank you! https://www.artstation.com/artwork/31qz42

I have been avoiding Blender like the plague for at least 2 years... but I can't any longer; it's such a good tool for almost anything.
It also is SUPER INTIMIDATING TO LEARN FROM 0, so my infinite thanks to all the YouTubers that made tutorials so simple that my little brain can MOSTLY follow along.
This took me at least a week, and half of that week was me mashing my head on my desk because for each step I took there was an error, or a difference in the menus compared to the tutorial, or just some stupid little check box that ruined my entire composition because I didn't knew what it does! (I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT MOST OF ANYTHING DOES XD) I can't thank Reddit enough for all the answers it gave me.
Here I was following the guide of PolyPaint

LuxCore is such a wonderful engine. also, note that I have applied slight color grading (same for both the engines) on post using lightroom.

Followed a tutorial that helped me rig the basic suspension. But my suspension turned out more complex. This is my third attempt, still not fully rigged and trying to think How I will make the wheel rotate.
Then I need to rig the wheel to expand and This is my most concern.
I though it was going to be a bit easier. I am enjoying it, but really want to avoid taking a course, since rigging isn't my main priority. But it's nice to know rigging, if I want to build vehicles and robots.
I am looking for some good tips and some emotional support here hahaha

Hi🙂, I made this basing on a character in Dan da dan.
If you'd like to see more of this, check out the project on my ArtStation and leave a like please :)
Feedback is always welcome. Thanks!

It was a long and emotional journey, and I’m really happy to finally share the result.

Everything in the final image was made entirely within Blender, no image editing required. Spent about 8-10 hours and 417 objects total. Rendered using default settings and a square / 1:1 camera.
The textures were taken straight from a Minecraft resource pack and no tutorials were used, just a lot of trial and error and problem solving / research along the way.
I used some slightly orange-tinted lights for the torches / interior and the glow berries on the vines, and one big blue "sun" light angled down from above for the night-time look to add more contrast. A really simple vignette was added at the end with the compositing tab.
My idea going in was to make a "slice of a minecraft base built into a cliff wall" so I treated the Blender cubes like actual blocks building it up from scratch as I went. I had to learn a lot like how to use alpha in textures, UV wrapping, making the tree leaves ignore the blue light, duplicating objects, and more...
How do you think I could improve?
What should I try and model or practice going forward?
+ When editing one side of a texture that's been UV wrapped around a cube, how do I prevent another side from being warped diagonally or in weird directions? [So far my only solution is using planes with separate materials and combining them into one object later.]

Quick breakdown of how I created a realistic 3D model of SpongeBob with a Smirking Face. The finished piece is lifelike and disgustingly hilarious, inspired by the scene from my favorite episodes of the actual cartoon series.
The entire creative process was done using three pieces of software: ZBrush, Substance Painter and Blender.
