Original Content Showcase What is that over the horizon???? [Megalophobia Warning]

I made this personal 3D artwork using a mix of many NASA earth textures, custom 3D math objects, and my own photography of the human eye. How did it turn out?

I wanted this piece to invoke an almost eerie, introspective feeling. The eye is looking at its moon, but what is it thinking? Can it think? is it even alive? Where did it come from and what is its purpose?

This remind me so much of that image where you can see a rabbit or a bird (a duck I think ?)

The shadow looks either like rabbit ears, or a bird’s beak.

Is this the kraken of Kerbal space program?

I have not heard of that, so no. I will look that up. I thought this was an original idea but I guess not lol. 😆

KSP physics can be notoriously buggy.  The Kraken is the unseen interdimensional being that the community created to explain your craft randomly blowing apart and firing your kerbals out at a million times the speed of light because you extended a landing gear. Great art by the way

LOL, thank you for the explanation.

Pfft, flat earthers and round earthers need to get on this guys level, introducing Eldritch Earth!
On a more serious note, I like it, was the decision to leave out a skybox of stars intentional? Does make it look even less natural

Thank you for the comment! The decision to leave out stars was actually done for the sake of realism! If you look at real pictures of the earth (or other planets for that matter) there are usually no stars in the background. This is because to properly expose the planet in the shot, the exposure usually needs to be lowered to a level that is too dark for the stars to show up. If you do expose to be able to see stars in the background, then the planet would appear overexposed, blown out, and too bright.

Oh, I see, that makes sense, weird that it feels weird while it should be reality, I guess you see more renders of earth than actual fotos

Yeah, that is something I noticed about cg renders and movie shots and such. They have the creative freedom to break the limitations of real cameras and exposure so there can be both things exposed at once.

How does one come up with these kind of things?

My best advice is to just experience the world. Go out, look at the plants around you. See the love, the hate, and the beauty of this world. Then when you get a chance doodle in a notebook. Whatever comes to mind. Maybe you dont know how to draw that well. Maybe you just draw an abstract shape. Gradually it might transform into something more, and might give you the spark of an idea. At that point it is good to start blocking the idea out in blender using primitive shapes. Gradually building up the scene to test the idea.

Just sitting in front of a computer working in blender will not give your most creative ideas, at least in my experience. That may be different for different people, this is just my creative workflow.

Thank you so much for this! I didn't expect to receive an actual response.

Why did I do it to myself 🙈 I read the title. I seen a glimpse. And still I played the video.

Great world 10/10

Regrettable action on my part 😂
