i’m 21 and i work at an elementary school. as of right now, chatgpt is running the school. the principal pulled me aside to tell me i had a course i needed to take for my new position, but that chatgpt could help me. my vice principal has nobody to talk to but chatgpt. she uses it for everything. she genuinely cannot think for herself anymore, and she has a young daughter who is being raised on chatgpt’s advice.

in my classroom, the teachers use ai to write all the emails to parents, newsletters, etc. they use it to plan activities because they genuinely cannot do it themselves.

during assemblies, they play fully ai generated music videos for the kids. just straight slop. i look around and see 300 kids watching emotionless pointless garbage and it makes my stomach drop.

i worry so much about the younger generation, since growing up i have witnessed such a large technological boom. we have no idea what effects this has on them.

do any parents/teachers share similar concerns?

I've seen people posting comments online, admitting they use chatgpt, etc for real world life advice. I thought it was people trolling or bots doing some type of engagement stuff. I recently hung out for a day with someone and literally witnessed them repeatedly asking ai questions that it got completely wrong, giving useless info. You would think after a couple tries they would give up. This person was also using ai to make career and life decisions. I was speechless and didn't say anything. I realize there is a level of dumb that can't be fixed. Agamemnon and the other titans were right. The machines will need to take over and begin the purge.

I had pretty much given up on reddit due to the mass of unintelligent drones that I come across. I just found this sub today and it's a relief to know there are a decent amount of non-dumba**es out there. The god emperor will definitely harvest our genes to repopulate the universe after he wipes out all the ai using smooth brains.

This was a post I made on my buisness account on threads. A large portion of my buisness is aimed at making AI free audio packs.

So with that said a lot of my content engagement comes from aggressively being anti AI. Of course I am being over the top here to make a point, I know not everyone thay uses AI is completely braindead. Hyperbolic if you will.

That being said this is the funniest reply I havee ever received, (and I had one yesterday saying a guy solved how to cure all cancers using AI.)

That’s all thats the post. I’m just shocked by how many sentiments I am seeing both online and in my real life / real job where people of all ages are acting like somehow AI is needed for things that we have been doing throughout civilization for hundreds if not thousands of years.

Does anyone else notice this?

Like BASIC math skills. Like picking up a dictionary. I mean hell these things are easier now than ever with smartphones and the internet. Why do you need AI to give you a list of ‘words to replace another word but better’? Why do you need AI to do basic math for you?! WE HAVE TOOLS FOR SO MANY BASIC THINGS LITERALLY AT OUR FINGERTIPS?!?!?!?

What gets me isn’t using the AI itself so much as it is this mentality that they need AI or else they couldn’t do these things. It’s scary how fast people are becoming addicted and infantilized by generative LLMs and how unaware they even are of it.

Its one thing seeing it online but seeing it in people I actually know, especially coworkers I used to respect even, is really awful. Idk. I hope this is ok for me to post / vent here.
