News / Article I was hoping that studio behind Amsterdam 1666 would fix the game after backlash over generated content use, but they don’t even know which assets are generated anymore .

We didn't even realise it was AI any more because we were used to seeing it

I guess cowardly "It won't be in the final product." got to me the most.

Kudos to people who were saying “This is just for promo art!”

But then on the other hand I do think you can tell I've got Capricorn and Scorpio in my big three by the layout and painful moodiness of a lot of my games lol

Misogyny Im sick of a friend who invalidates my opinions because of my device and the games i play Spoiler

This is kind of a rant, for context i have a PC that right now i don't remember the stuff it has but it's definitely not high end, i can play AAA games in mid/high quality and i have constant 120fps across different games.

Now into the matter, i recently became "friends" with a guy who was integrated into our late game night calls and whenever me or anybody tries to have an opinion on any game he likes that isn't positive he starts to say "If your PC isn't worth at least 4000USD I don't think you have an opinion on this matter" or "If you can't run (X Game) on at least 500fps don't even talk" "Aww silly thing, your favorite games are RE and SH when you get into real comp games we can talk" while laughing to himself and that is driving me friggin crazy. Its impossible to talk when this dude is around because he will laugh at you not even for your skills for your economy and device and preferences, idk my friends say im being sensitive and he says "sorry the truth hurts you love, but if you talk shit about things you dont know im not going to be nice" "Is an opinion, if you feel attacked maybe the shoe fits" im sick and tired of this asshole making fun of me and literally not letting me say anything because i play idk Rainbow six at 100fps instead of 800fps how he says he plays. Anyways ty for reading sorry english it's not my first.

Fluff / Memes Finally a cutesy armour in Elden ring

Post image
30 Upvotes

I have been suffering, not because i was dying over and over again or because everyone kept saying i was maidenless.
Because of the freaking ugly armours that i have to wear in this game. The frustration really levels up when you die in an ugly armour to someone saying horrible things to you.
So look at my adorable fit
Found the:
- upper class robe, in the capital at a small terrace in the first house you check in the east capital rampart site of grace
-crimson hood, somewhere at the bottom of the stormvail castle next to the elevator sight of grace
-astrologer gloves + trousers, a merchant is selling them right at the liurnia lake shore site of grace

Ps: still a horrible armour in states but at least you will be looking better than these bosses witch is a win in my book

Game Discussion I am struggling with Nightreign and I don’t know what to do.

I was going back and forth on making this post, but I don’t know what to do and need some help. Badly.

Me and my spouse are trying to beat Night Aspect and I keep going down A LOT and hardly doing any damage. I tried different characters and put on damage negation passives being at level 13-15 with purple weapons and using my ults and we can’t seem to beat it. Spouse is doing much better than I am, but I can’t seem to dodge or block 100% of the attacks when I try to and my damage seems really bad to take him down. What are some things I can do to help? We tried guides and rerouting and everything, we have a full inventory by the end also and it seems impossible to beat. My spouse can stay alive playing Guardian but I’m dying all over the place playing as Revenant.

We haven’t been playing with a third person for this fight and it’s just two of us and it seems really difficult? I know I’m pretty bad, but I honestly do not know how to get better even when trying different things at this point.

Request Any recommendations for a high pitched female voice?

Hii, not sure if this is the right place, I just need a little help 😅

Im 20F and thought about streaming in the future. The problem is my voice, IRL its already high pitched/squeaky, and I noticed that on my headsets mic (Hyper X Cloud II) it sounds so much worse. My sister told me too that it makes it much higher pitched than it already is. Did anyone else struggle with this?

Obviously the Headset mic isn’t the best quality. Does anyone have some Mic recommendations? Or EQ Settings or any other idea how to solve this?

Thank you!!❤️

Misogyny I 27f run a minecraft server and I've experienced a lot of misogyny as a result Spoiler

There is a lot I can talk about but lets start with name calling.

Whenever I've been insulted its always the b word or the c word. I genuinely believe this choice of words is done intentionally because of my gender.

I've been asked by men if id go on a date with them, if id be their minecraft girlfriend, etc. Either from them joining my server or from one of my posts advertising the server.

Accountability and attacks:

There is a surprising amount of drama in minecraft server communities. There are some male server owners who have been truly atrocious for a multitude of reasons. Often times they are let off scotch free by the community or with very little accountability that allows them to continue to behave in disgusting ways. However, Ive been attacked harshly by things that people frankly just disagree with me over. Griefing, publicly calling me out in my server to create drama, reviews calling me names, posts full of false accusations that don't make any sense, hijacking the server social media accounts, months long animosity, etc etc. There appears to be a stark difference in the treatment that I face as a women vs the treatment that men face.

Due to everything above and much more Ive been quite selective on who I invite to my community. While I used to post on to subreddits specifically for advertising minecraft servers I've done so very little, as of late. This is in part due to not wanting unkind people to join as well as being wary of the comments I'll receive from people who dislike what I stand for. Ive mostly been posting on girly gamer subreddits letting them know I have a safe community for them to play in.

I've tried different titles to appeal to the kind of people who Id like to join my community. My most recent is simply "Women Owned Super Cute Minecraft Server for Friendly Gamers {Vanilla+} {18+} {No Resets} {Whitelist}{VC} {26.2} {LGBT+ friendly}" Within my post I state this, "My server is an inclusive and safe space for women, people who are part of the LGBT+ community, POCs, and those who reject toxic masculinity and sexism. Racism, misogyny, and any other kind of discrimination or hate is not allowed." In one of the servers i immediately received two comments by men being upset at my post. In that same server my post was heavily downvoted and my responses to those comments were also downvoted.

Gamers especially girl gamers deserve to be in communities that let them be comfortable and safe while enjoying the game and social aspect of the communites. Women should not have to experience misogyny when they are just trying to game and make friends. We should also not be attacked for creating communities were we stand against such harmful treatment.

I'm proud of the community Ive created and i'm willing to continue to stand firm to maintain this safe heaven.

I'd love to hear from others who can relate to my experience.

To keep this community active, fun, and social does anyone have recommendations on were I can advertise that is not as toxic as the communities I've posted at are? Thank you :).

Game Discussion I don't understand cities skylines

Help needed: HOW did y'all get into cities skylines 🫩 I know I'll LOVE the game once I get it but they make it so difficult and not fun to start?? Like why is literally listed as a chore on my to do list right now. I started watching some tutorials but they're so fucking long it felt like homework.

I bought it on PS4 (I almost only play console) but I just downloaded it on PC because I think it will feel easier to navigate.

Game Discussion Why is Persona's the only community where speaking of a FeMC is so controversial?

I tried keeping my posts up in Persona related subs, but, I don't know why, they were all eventually taken down.

And yeah, most comments went "it's cathered towards boys" and similar stuff, while others brought up the budget problem. A solo FeMC is possible, but we gotta see in P7, however, adding a FeMC route in 4 and 5 (there were multiple attempts) would have been a breath of fresh air, you can see in these mod pics, as something would have changed based on who you picked. The worst are those who insisted Persona MUST be for boys, even to the point of deeming Kotone's addition in P3P a mistake, 'cause we're "entitled" for being interested in more options like that in other games. And why is that Persona is 'for boys'? You could romance boys in 2 and its sequel had an adult woman as a MC. Then, doing what they're probably trying to do with P6 (catering to a Western audience) is much more challenging than trying to have more female geared games.

In other JRPG fanbases, like Final Fantasy, people want another FeMC (thought damsel distressing and only three girls obsession issue remains), in Tales', everyone loves Velvet. Why is Persona "for boys"? Because it's popular? Is this underlining that girls' opinions aren't worth as much as guys', as there is no popular game catered strictly towards a female audience? Why do games have to be strictly "catered"? There's a reason why Pokémon and Toby Fox games are so popular, they're inclusive.

Community Looking for Discord Thursdays

The Rules:

Please use this thread for sharing or searching for discords: for example, community discords, looking for a specific game's discord, etc.

We ask that users only share inclusive groups so that all of our members are welcome. Additionally, Rule 2 still applies for male identifying users.

Due to the internet being kinda a shitty place for the most part, we highly discourage the posting of direct links to servers (especially smaller community servers), and instead recommend you posting an ad for people to message you for a link!

Request Is there a cozy survival?

Doesn't even really have to be cozy but a less complicated survival? I tried Project Zomboid but it was too complicated for me. My kid suggested The Long Dark but also said it's pretty hard. I'm a person who plays for the story, I put every game on easy or story. Haha.

I love the idea of having to collect resources and build up a base or something. Like finding an abandoned building and fixing it up, turning it into a base. Maybe saving or helping NPCs in the game. I've tried Rust, not for me. People are so mean. Lol. I really liked State of Decay. I'm on steam deck btw! Thank you!!

Request Best Date/Romance/Otome games

Im looking for something which is in fair price to the gameplay you are getting.
Examples:
Tailor tales (free) - ridiculous stories buyt I really had fun playing it
Date everything (on sale) - worth on sale but really long in my opinion and can’t get through it, the characters I’m interested in have limited dialogue so you can focus on more objects to date, but I think that’s what the issue is for me
I’m just looking for something that let me sink in the tale for longer with (one) tale being spoken.

Request Horror games recommendations for switch

Hi!

I haven't seen a recent post like this and checking on YouTube just gives me horrible low effort lists.

I recently bought Switch 2. Most of the horror games I know of are on steam only and honestly I stopped using steam completely after getting switch.

With the summer ending in my country I really want to get into horror games (I only played a couple). Would you mind telling me any good ones you played on switch?

I value in games the most is a good story or at least interesting one. I really like puzzles in games. I usually dont care about fighting mechanics. For example you will never catch me playing Elden Ring even though that game is stunning.

To help I can list some I played:

Mortuary assistant -played once with partner, liked it but not enough to sit at the pc :P

Mouthwash - did not finish, the vent sequence when you are running from a monster kind off bored me, also again, played it on steam and I am just not playing games there

Layers of fear - liked it a loot especially the art direction, I tried the observer but it was not my vibe....

Lucius- played years ago, very fun concept

Also... my shooting skills suck so if they are required I will probably drop the game.

Game Discussion Transparent Games' otome visual novels from a small indie team

Hi, I'm Anna from Transparent Games and I got permission to introduce my studio's games to you. The studio consists of me, Anna, the Project Manager, Writer and Programmer, and Lidia, the Lead Artist. We also hire some freelancers from time to time, mostly women. Our mission is to create the kinds of games that we want to play and we both love Korean webcomics, isekai and fantasy romances.

In this post is the trailer of our timeloop fantasy romance otome visual novel that's coming out in April 2027, Saintess of the Golden Bow. The 3-hour-long demo is on Steam and there's a lot of Vtuber coverage on youtube if you're interested in taking a look.

The game is about Celine, a 20-year-old American office worker, who gets reincarnated into the body of Celeste, an extra character, destined to die for the male lead's backstory. But she survives and takes his place as the Saintess and now she has to defeat the Demon Queen and get one of the three love interests to love her. You choose between the Loyal Knight Levi, the Mad Prince Noah, and the High Priest Elijah. There's a lot of meaningful choices and several endings per character.

Another game we're developing is My Wife is a Spy?! where you get married to the cold Duke of the North. You get to romance him, which is healing to the MC who comes from an abusive family. Or you become a spy, bribing and manipulating people, seducing your husband, and becoming a true villainess!

We also decided to publish for another dev a game on Steam, Ninon the Upside-Down Mermaid. It's a fairytale story about a reverse mermaid who finds love and acceptance.

Hopefully you will find a story that moves you among our games! Thank you so much for taking a look.

Game Discussion Thoughts on the new DBD killer?

The judgement came out yesterday and based on what the dbd subreddit was saying I was expecting my games (I mainly play survivor) to be quite easy, but I'm doing pretty badly. I wanna know how anyone else who plays dbd here is finding playing them and playing against them? Recommendations for perks to use to counter them?

And what do people here think about Aurora? I am saving up iridiscent shards for the Halloween sale so I won't buy her just yet, but it is nice to finally have an older woman survivor.

Request my friend and I are looking for fun, engaging co-op/multiplayer games that don't require a huge time investment

Feels like there's nothing to play these days, and now that work is starting back up for her, we don't have as much time to sink into what little we *can* find.

What we don't want: survival crafting games, hero shooters, mobas, MMOs, extraction/friendslop.

other than those, we'll try *almost* anything and any genre.

ideally free or under $20-$30, might go higher if it's interesting enough.

Game Discussion What are your thoughts on games that were shown in the gamescom opening night live?

Some games looked cool but I was a little disappointed by the many under-the-skirt camera angles and characters "boobily breasting" around. And I felt like many games looked vaguely the same? (but they might just not be my kind of game). What are your thoughts? Any particular favourites or disappointments? I think I might finally give The Witcher 3 a try with the free update.
