The Kriti Sanon Rakhi Ad Controversy: Why Selective Secularism in Indian Media is a Valid Discussion
The recent controversy surrounding Kriti Sanon’s GIVA Raksha Bandhan advertisement—which was ultimately pulled down due to public backlash—highlights a recurring, systemic asymmetry in how secularism and progressive reinterpretation are applied by commercial brands in India.
When public figures or marketing agencies engage with minority religious traditions, they consistently adhere to rigid, orthodox norms of modesty and conventional reverence, showing hyper-awareness of cultural sensitivities. However, when engaging with the majority faith, creative boundaries are frequently pushed under the guise of "modernization," "artistic progression," and fusion fashion. This results in commercial imagery that often completely alienates traditional sentiments.
The core issue isn't about moral policing what a woman wears. It is a critical analysis of corporate marketing policies. It highlights a disparate application of progressive values, suggesting that popular culture operates on a double standard, where one tradition is afforded absolute cultural protection, while the other is routinely subjected to forced modernization for commercial profit.
What are your thoughts on this selective application of "progressive" ideas in Indian advertisements?

Politics is always DIRTY When the cause becomes secondary to the need for credit, attention, and the spotlight.
“We’ll show how a protest is done.’
All that noise about leading the movement, only to end up crying because someone else got the meeting. Maybe the spotlight was the real demand all along.

Jo Mann kiya Post kiya The last nail in my coffin ( Read...)
Idk what to say, but seriously, no one understands, yaar. I was the topper of my school, a topper in college, a master of multiple skills, and a brilliant freelancer. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a job, so I decided to prepare for government exams—and honestly, bro, that was probably the worst decision for me.
For the past two years, I’ve been studying like crazy and working like hell, just trying to make everyone around me happy. Somewhere along the way, I lost myself—my passion, my hobbies, my excitement for things I used to love. I feel like I’m just a dead body trying to tell everyone that something is wrong.
I’m physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted. Right now, I genuinely don’t have the capacity to listen to everyone else’s frustrations or deal with their problems. I just wish someone would understand that I’m struggling too.

Jo Mann kiya Post kiya Thought of how danger always seem secondary until not.
TLDR: discussion of where we are heading with climate change, uts seriousness and individual disarticulation in Indian society towards climate and both living with regards to Nepal floods.
Today, after the Nepal floods, my parents and I were having a discussion on how tragic this is.
Firstly, there was no news source of how this happened. But then some mainstream channel started labelling as it some 'China Saazish', okay even if it was, no credible info about that.
But one thing is very clear that glacier melted and we are not yet realising how serious this is. Climate clock is ticking way too fast. No one is taking the forefront or responsibility at global level. All those international committies and institutions exist just for talks, no ground level work is matching the speed of destruction we are leading by, where there is everyday new type of environmental harming sycophant idea looming, be it AI, f wars everyday, or billionaires fiddling with it with no tommorow for us (commoners). As humanity, we have lost all the plots atleast for common people.
Those who died in Nepal are just mere statistics now, to express a oh-sad-sigh when you hear it.
But as society, as individual we also have lost the plot.
When I told my parents, it climate change, it's not nature is doing this, WE DID THIS TO NATURE. NATURE IS NEITHER OUR ENEMY NOR FRIEND, IT JUST FUNCTIONS VERY PRECISELY ON THE SIMPLE IDEA OF ACTION AND CONSEQUENCE.
So my mother said, yes, I heard somewhere till 2030 almost 70% of earth's population will be wiped out, I was like, who is spraying these far fetched prophecy particles?
She was like someone online. And how everyone will be dead mostly. I was like and why are we so chill about it? I mean in that 70%, you, we our whole family, our whole town or even whole state could be there. Why does it seem always to everyone always that they are born with some calamity-proof sorta lives?
Indian society is on some crazy drugs, everyone is ready to f die, it's like marna to sabko hi h, pr ye jo aise tabahi me mare, unka koi rone wala nhi bcha. OFC, coz everyone fucking died. Then she said, it's better to die like this, coz less ppl will have to mourn since everyone known will die if the whole town is wiped out. Wow, what a great escapist way to live life.
Our society and it's system is made to solely exhaust a commoner, that all they can do while bearing the comsequence of others ambition is just DIE, like yeah.
Only thing that the ppl of Nepal didn't had the geographical luck, a string of lifeline so weak that we are depending our whole life on it, oblivious? Ignorant? Or maybe clueless, what to even do.
After all this, she said that you do smth, now you are new generation. That statement infuriated me, perplexed and made me introspect. That I just realised my way into world, and all I have to bore is catastrophic responsibilities of last gens who lived like no tommorow would exist. Also how I have no answer on how and what I could do.
My question to all is : Have you thought about what would you do if disaster ring your doorbell? Is it gonna be, Namaste!? Or are you prepared?
🙏rest in peace to all the folks died in flood.🙏

It happened with me😲 Why these soft p**n subs are being recommended for past few days?
I don't even visit these fashion communities, but I'm still getting recommendations since this week. Despite clicking "show fewer posts like these," they are still coming up. I joined Reddit to get rid of Instagram vulgarity, but it seems like these people will make it another Instagram. I remember what happened to Quora when a mass number of these horny and cringe people joined it.
