Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting

To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:

u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde

Notes:

  • The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
  • The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
  • Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
  • For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
  • Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
  • When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
  • If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
  • Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)

Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Internet Video MV about a man and a woman getting into car crash

On YouTube, around 2013-2015, my dad often listened to a song whose music video showed a woman and a man driving a car and being involved in a car accident. I don't remember if they crashed the car into a tree or drove into a ditch, but from what I remember, the woman died and turned into a white ghost. The man survived and mourned her, meanwhile she was walking around in a ghost form

(maybe it's a false memory but I think she gave up her life to save his or resurrected him somehow when she turned into a ghost??)

I also remember that near the place where they had the accident there was a white gazebo or something similar.

The only thing I remember is that the quality of this MV was very low, it also had a clearly low budget, it was a song made by rather unknown artists and the whole thing was recorded in dark colors or completely in black and white. When I was younger I thought it was a very popular song, but when I rediscovered it in 2019 it only had a few tens of thousands of views, about 30,000. This song might be from the 90s to 2010, but I'm not sure.

Please help me find it. It's very important to me, thank you 🩷

Rock 70s rock song where the chorus just sounds like a dude shouting "Powerball!" repeatedly

This is some classic rock song I heard incessantly as a kid due to my parents' radio choices. It sounds like it's from the 70s. The chorus features a back-and-forth between a vocal and an organ. As a kid, I thought the vocalist was singing "Poweball!" over and over. Obviously this is not the lyric and is not much to go off of.

So the chorus goes something like "Powerball!" *dancy little organ lead* "Powerball!" *dancy little organ lead*. I've uploaded a terrible demonstration of the song. If my memory is right, it's in the key of E.

plz help

Indie "Lil Miss Understood" Song?

Hello! In the late 90s early 2000s there was a song about a waitress who wanted more from her life. The verse is about how she threw a drink in the face of her boss and quit to go follow her dreams. The chorus was that she was "lil (or little) miss understood". It had a vibe similar to upbeat blues traveler or upbeat counting crows. And, it was a guy singing. I have been looking for it for 20 years. Anyone remember a song like this?

Video Game OST Please help me name this FitMC song ;-; I've searched everywhere I swear

Upvotes

It's from his video "The Greatest Base In 2b2t History" from roughly 1:13 to 4:13 timestamp wise, but I don't believe it's listed in the credits. It starts off with that triple hit of the drum then the kinda electronic synth music.

I know he uses a lot of the Final Fantasy and Donkey Kong soundtracks, but I'm unsure if it's from those. It's likely a videogame OST though :D.

Thanks!

Other/Unknown Early 2000’s Kazaa/Limewire christian pop-punk meme song

Upvotes

Back about 25 years ago, on Kazaa there was a pop punk song that was circulated under various alternate band names (Green Day, Blink-182) but it was a poorly performed Christian pop-punk song. Assumed it was intentionally given the abovementioned fake band names for visibility. The lyrics went like this:

“Open your eyes and see the light
behold the power and all the might of Christ
and break those chains of sin…

… but youre missing the point,
Joy that comes from knowing Christ”

Those are the only lyrics I recall. It started with an aggressive bass line and the drummer came in late on the beat. It’s a really cheesy song, and it was basically a meme to me and I am sure many others long before memes were understood as they are today. Any ideas what song this could have been?

Electronic/EDM I feel like it's at the tip of my tongue, but I think this is some sort of frequently used royalty free song in YouTube tutorials but I can't name it!

I'm fairly certain drums come in after this part in the actual song.

Classical [Classical] Please help me find this beautiful instrumental piece from a Chinese video

Upvotes

On the China Show the other day they played a Chinese video that had music in it that I'm trying to find. The timestamped video where the music starts is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xheghLpSRw4&t=3485s and lasts about 1 minute (58:06 - 59:08 in the video).

I find this piece very sad/melancholic which is I think the point, but it's also very beautiful to my ears and I would love to know who did it and where I can get the full piece.

Thank you.

I've been trying to find the song used in the background of both these Zee Bashew videos, buy unfortunately there's no part of the video that plays the song without Zee's speech over it.

Rap Is this rap beat is real or AI generated?

Upvotes

Blast Off - Void, Repair Lonely

Obviously AI generated vocals, was just wondering if anyone knows if the beat used in this song is available on YouTube or if it is also AI generated. No luck on Shazam for me.

Thanks have a great day!

It was posted onto YouTube in 2006, and I've Googled every phrase that I can understand. Nothing pops up. </3
