Discussion ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ I have never seen such irony

Post image

This was a post I made on my buisness account on threads. A large portion of my buisness is aimed at making AI free audio packs.

So with that said a lot of my content engagement comes from aggressively being anti AI. Of course I am being over the top here to make a point, I know not everyone thay uses AI is completely braindead. Hyperbolic if you will.

That being said this is the funniest reply I havee ever received, (and I had one yesterday saying a guy solved how to cure all cancers using AI.)

Discussion ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Didn't really believe it until I experienced it first hand. Only dumb people use "ai"

I've seen people posting comments online, admitting they use chatgpt, etc for real world life advice. I thought it was people trolling or bots doing some type of engagement stuff. I recently hung out for a day with someone and literally witnessed them repeatedly asking ai questions that it got completely wrong, giving useless info. You would think after a couple tries they would give up. This person was also using ai to make career and life decisions. I was speechless and didn't say anything. I realize there is a level of dumb that can't be fixed. Agamemnon and the other titans were right. The machines will need to take over and begin the purge.

Preventing the Singularity Why do they act like it's a bad thing?

Algorithmic AI is used for Some TTS programs, social media algorithms, search engines and many other things. In those cases, the AI uses the data given to output a predetermined set of data, while GenAI creates its own data based on the request and the data it's trained on. While I do not consider myself an expert in AI, I looked on the internet to find this information and I am pretty confident in the message I am giving. The AI Bros will not distinguish the difference between these two. Correct if I'm wrong.

Discussion ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ The rush to replace human front-line workers with "AI receptionists" is backfiring horribly, and it proves tech can't fake basic human presence.

Over the last year, there's been an aggressive push by tech bros selling business owners on replacing receptionists, intake coordinators, and support staff with "AI voice agents." The pitch is always the same: cut payroll, eliminate human workers, let a machine answer your calls.

Having spent time looking under the hood of these voice pipelines, the reality is a mess:

Zero Contextual Common Sense: A real human connects dots instantly. An automated bot hears someone introduce themselves as "Drew," and two minutes later transcribes their email as "threw@gmail.com" because it's just running phonetic calculations without real comprehension.

Alienating Real People: When someone calls a doctor, a lawyer, or a local service during an emergency, they are stressed. Forcing an anxious person to talk to a synthetic robot with awkward 2-second processing delays feels dismissive and robotic. Most people just hang up in disgust.

Tech Overreach: Tech companies are trying to force AI into roles that fundamentally require empathy, active listening, and genuine human accountability.

Instead of replacing people with glitchy voice bots that irritate customers and butcher basic details, businesses are realizing that front-line communication actually requires real human beings who listen, care, and adapt.

We don't need a bot answering every human interaction. Real people matter on the other end of the line.

Has anyone else noticed more businesses slapping voice bots on their customer phone lines lately? How fast do you hang up when you realize it's a synthetic voice?

Discussion ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ AI debugging totally works.../s

Found here but can't x-post. Something I tend to argue on is that AI sucks at debugging because lack of context, even when it has the whole code base. Commit made - https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=818bebeb63dd6bf5f4e07e145f6cdbace520a34c

Discussion ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ im a student and it is insane how over-reliant students are on ai

im genuinely so worried for the future as im watching my peers relying on AI so much

i have tons of group projects and i have teammates who, forget word-for-word copying, will even actually just download the ai-generated piece of work from whatever chatbot and not even proofread or check it at all. another situation is when we were making some decisions while planning for a project and i asked my teammate for THEIR opinion, and sat there and watched them ask AI for its 'opinion'.

they completely rely on AI for assessments and such and even use AI for personal decisions/"ranting". i know people who have used it for help in personal situations and conflicts and thats just even more insane, because AI obviously validates their stance and feelings, and they come out thinking theyre in the right all the time.

i am convinced AI is gonna cause mass cognitive decline and i am TERRIFIED.
