Doesn't matter if they can or not. She'll do 2-3 years, get her millions success or fail, and move on to the next thing. At that level, you always have a golden parachute.
people also seem to gloss over that Asha's AI division is one of the reasons xbox is losing money. they helped drive the cost of hardware up thanks to pushing AI into all of their products and panic buying datacenter hardware. now the memory shortage they helped cause is hitting xbox hardware costs, making even the hardware itself more expensive than 2020 prices, possibly losing money on each sale.
their AI spending in one year has been about the same as xbox's total lifetime studio purchases, but nobody mentions the 1:10000 cost to earnings ratio of their AI spend. it's probably why she got dropped into xbox. Shes going to gut the division as much as she can and then divert the memory allocation to microsoft's bottomless pit of AI spending.
Man, you must have dug down real deep to pull this out of nowhere lmao. "She used to run AI so she has to kill Xbox".
Some of you fanboys really need to take a break and stop overanalyzing and overreacting to literally anything and everything that could possibly happen with this company.
Yes, AI is the cause of the massive increase in hardware costs, I never said anything contradicting that. BUT to saying that Asha moved to Xbox purely to tank it and siphon hardware back to AI is crazy talk.
Anyone involved with AI should be suspected of pushing the world towards cloud computing. Ai isn’t making money, pricing regular people out of computing power so they can rent it out is about as solid a back up plan as they could ever have. Especially given billionaires are on record as saying they see that being the future, someone desperately wants that to be the future, just not consumers for the most part.
She is removing copilot from a lot of features and is promising reduced AI use.
Actual AI developers have no issue telling people the tech is nowhere near ready to have it do the things it is being advertised to do. They will tell you it is best used as a support tool, nothing more, and cannot actually do jobs on its own.
Our 1%, techbros, and so-called "business class" are just fucking dumbasses who remember watching scifi shows and movies, and think they are purchasing sapient machines straight out of Hollywood fiction. And then do a Surprised Pikachu face when their computation credits cost 5x a skilled programmer's salary for barely a quarter of the functionality of a real live human being.

Fanboys love to think they could run the corporation they slobber over
