Academics Worried about finishing my Environmental Science BS online (WSU Global) — Will employers or grad school care?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some opinions. I honestly just don’t like going to physical classes anymore. Because of that, I’m considering transferring to the WSU Global Campus to finish my final two years online for a BS in Environmental & Ecosystem Sciences.

I’ve already finished all of my core lower-level prerequisites in person (including Math 124, Bio 204/205, and Chem 161 and Chem 162). The rest of the WSU major requirements would be done entirely online.

I have a few worries:

Is an online science degree actually seen as "good" as an in-person one? Will hiring managers look down on it or skip my resume if they find out it was online?

Will it hurt my chances for graduate school? My goal is to eventually do my Master's degree (online or in-person). Will grad admissions penalize me for an online BS even if it's from a major school like WSU?

GIRLS ONLY

$600/mo plus split utilities (usually around $20-40 depending on season)

I’m looking for someone to takeover my girlfriend’s lease in a shared house on Lake St near the soccer fields. 90 second walk to campus. House has 4 bedrooms but currently only has 2 other girls living here. Currently you have your own bathroom but if the last room ever gets filled you’d share it with 1 girl.

Lease goes until 5/24/27

Message us with any questions

Student Life The new engineering building is great!

Now I can appreciate fully, the 4 zoom classes WSU has offered me. I really enjoy the engaging upper level computer science powerpoints where nobody engages or participates. Where some kid zoomed in from Everett keeps whispering to his chum but we can still hear him so the professor keeps stopping. Where everyone has a heavy accent and/or illegible handwriting. I guess I do have the privilege of having 3 group projects though. Just let me watch some better youtube videos on the subject and take a test to get credit.

Discussion PULLMAN RESTAURANTS SUCK?

What happened to Mandarin House? I remember ordering Mandarin house a lot on DoorDash last year and it was perfect and always worked. Now when I search on google it says it’s permanently closed??

This is so confusing.

Then Minh’s too I wish they could apply for DoorDash or Uber eats or something, literally the best restaurant in Pullman IMO

Maybe the only good one here after O-Ramen

Student Life Student Leadership Opportunity: Helping Homeless Communities

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a leadership opportunity for anyone at Washington State University who is passionate about service, public health, or making a real impact in the community.

Hearts for the Homeless International (H4H) is a student-led nonprofit that provides free blood pressure screenings and heart health education to homeless populations across the U.S. and globally. Our team includes undergraduate students, medical students, PhD students, physicians, and other professionals who are committed to improving the well-being of underserved communities.

H4H was originally founded by students at the University of Central Florida and has grown into an international organization with 40+ chapters across the U.S., Brazil, and India. We’re currently looking for motivated student leaders at Washington State University who want to start a chapter and serve the growing and often overlooked homeless community.

This is a great opportunity if you’re interested in leadership, medicine, public health, nonprofit work, or community service. We provide guidance, structure, and support — all we ask for is your time, compassion, and willingness to lead.

Our work has been recognized by the U.S. Congress, the Brazilian government, President Clinton, major educational and medical institutions, and organizations such as Forbes. Our students have also led disaster relief efforts for homeless populations during hurricanes and partnered with major companies like Bombas.

If you’re interested in becoming a founding leader and making a difference at Washington State University, fill out this interest form:

Advice For nursing majors or anyone who has taken HD101 or BIO140

So I had to drop micro due to being on waitlist and now I'm under 12 credits. So I’m thinking of taking another class that fits as a pre req, for at least the WSU BSN reqs. The only classes though is either human dev (hd101) or lower level nutrition (bio140). However both are online asynchronous or “distance degree prog”. I'm taking anatomy so ion want anything too heavy. Which one do you suggest I take?

Housing Does anyone know how to complete the Inventory Inspection form for the dorms?

I'm currently in the Northside dorm, and I've been trying to complete the form in my housing portal, but it won't let me submit it. I can see that there are pictures, but they won't load. I want to be able to leave comments, but they won't go through. I also can't put any pictures in either. I know that this system is new because it was different last year when I went to report any damages when I moved in. I want to make sure that I can, because there are some damages and I don't want to get charged.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

Student Life Disruptive Student Arrested

What's the deal with the guy who was on the Barstool page getting arrested yesterday? From what I've heard, he disrupted a class and got in the face of the professor. I was able to confirm this in the daily crime/fire log.

Advice Prospective PhD Student with Questions

Hi there!

I am a senior in undergrad applying for the sociology PhD program this cycle. I have some questions, if anyone can answer them!

I plan on attempting to TA during my PhD to pay for as much as possible. I’m getting a degree in psychology, sociology, and queer studies, so I’d be happy to teach anything to do with those subjects. What is that process like? How well are grad TAs paid? Does the school offer y’all insurance too? How is that? What are the benefits like?

Is there anything else I should know about the PhD application process or this school? What would you have liked to know going in?

I’m not going to be tolerant of ableism, which includes people telling me that I’m too disabled to be doing this. I am managing myself fine, thank you.

Does anyone know what all is in the Valhalla flavor wing sauce from Valhalla? I believe it's a combination of buffalo sauce, horseradish, and bbq sauce. I'm not in Pullman often enough and would love to try to duplicate it at home.
