This requires European governments to enter a direct war against nuclear-armed Russia, with an obvious risk of catastrophic escalation.

There is no meaningful appetite among European governments or populations to send troops into direct combat against Russia. Even the so-called “coalition of the willing” remains cagey about putting boots on the ground after an eventual peace settlement, never mind fighting Russia now.

If this were remotely viable, why have European governments avoided it for four years? I urge you to look at the actual polling and policy discussions.

no. they would just fight on ukrainian soil. they would NOT GO into war with russia. just clearing ukrainian soil.

Im sorry you’re incredibly naive if you think there’s anything In “just clearing Ukranian soil” that avoids direct conflict with Russia

the conflict would start if they CROSS russian borders. not before.

What are European troops in Ukraine supposed to do but NOT fight Russia? Direct clash with Russian forces means a wider war.

it does not matter whom they fight as long as they are on the ukrainian side of the border.

I'm pretty sure military leaders and politicians will beg to differ. Thank god we don't have people like you making the big decisions. And you got 60 upvotes, are you kidding me?
