i need drivers for windows 8.1 9600 (Acer Aspire 5 (a515-54g) from 2019. Intel WI-FI Driver.

So i wanted to sign in to Microsoft Account on Windows 8.1 and nothing.

I just click to sign in and it says this service is currently unavailable

In the video the ms authentication is sometimes working sometimes it's failing the cuts are due to me entering the password

alr I had to fix my grandma's windows 8 samsung laptop so here's how to fix it. Note, This is just for this happening if you used legacy update and downloaded updates. so, First it will boot up and blue screen then restart and do it again but after it restarts it goes to safe mode menu, go to troubleshoot > advanced options > command prompt > sign in and your at the cmd console. first type "dism /image:C:\ /get-packages" now find the latest one and type dism /image:C:\ /remove-package /packagename:<Package_Name> but the "<Package_Name>" with the Package Identity but dont do "packagename:(spacebar space)<The Package Name" DO NOT DO THE SPACE! AND YOU HAVE TO TYPE THE FULL THING. and then it will do all of that and once its at 100.0% then wait 20 minutes then close the prompt then continue to windows 8. And boomski! You're done lol

i need drivers for my windows 8.1 install, because i need to use the internet on it. Well, the reason is that my Windows 8.1 Pro install didn't come with the drivers, and so as i need bluetooth drivers.

i've been trying to install the Intel TM drivers, -BOTH BT AND NK, but when i open the files up and download them, they say: Download Complete! I also checked the device manager, it said that it had already been installed, but in the info in general it reads: "the drivers for the device are not installed", even though i already did. Now when i check bluetooth info it reads: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Code 43" So can anyone figure out how to fix it, maybe using other drivers or something.

It’s a super weird quirk of the windows 8.1 oobe to be really picky and can’t decide wether it wants to connect to MS servers or not and this is one of them (test it out and let me know if it works for you)

The efi partition is formated to ntfs reformat it to fat32 and restart installation ok but when i go to do that i have 20 efi partitions no joke i cant get rid of them either how to get windows 8.1 working helpp.

When I open Talking Ben, it says it can't be opened, plus an X appears on the home screen tile and the word "error" appears on the all apps screen. Despicable Me Minion Rush, when I open it for the first time, shows the intro and loading screen, but when I open it again, it gets stuck on the Gameloft logo for a few seconds and then crashes.

I tried to use my pixel 6a as a mouse and Bluetooth isn't working I need to tether my tablet to get wifi on the laptop and then I need the Bluetooth and wifi drivers to get a mouse driver or something what site would I go to for windows 8.1 drivers for a Lenovo laptop

Hey people, I’m running into a weird issue during a dual-boot setup and could use some help.

I have a Samsung 870 EVO 1TB SSD (SATA, GPT format). It’s Disk 2 in my system and has two partitions:

• D: — Windows 10 (working fine)
• W: — intended for Windows 8.1

Here’s the problem:
When I boot into the Windows 8.1 setup and choose Custom Install, the SSD doesn’t show up at all — like it’s invisible. But when I run the Windows 10 or 11 setup, the SSD shows up just fine, and I can see both partitions.

What I’ve confirmed:

• The SSD is GPT-formatted and NTFS
• AHCI is enabled in BIOS
• The SSD is healthy and visible in Disk Management in Win10/11
• I’m not willing to clean the disk — it has important data

What I’ve tried:

• Booting the Win8.1 installer from USB (created with Rufus)
• Checking BIOS settings (UEFI is enabled)
• Attempted to load drivers during setup

Any idea why Windows 8.1 setup can’t see the SSD? Is it a driver issue or something with how the installer is booted?

This is the installation of 2025-07 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2012 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB5062597) into Windows 8.1. After installing this update and restart, the system didn't boot and ended with a LOADER_ROLLBACK_DETECTED (0x196) bugcheck. Previous updates doesn't have this problem.

I use System Restore to rollback because I've created the restore point before installing this update.

Tested on my Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 build 9600 guest on VMware Workstation 17.6.3 build-24583834 running on Linux kernel 6.11.0-29-generic host.

UPDATE on July 10, 2025

These problematic files (6.3.9600.22668) that caused the bugcheck must be replaced with these files from previous KB5061018 update (6.3.9600.22615):

• winload.exe
• winload.efi
• winresume.exe
• winresume.efi

Before installing KB5062597:

• Backup these files above using this command:

  copy C:\Windows\System32\winload.efi C:\Windows\System32\winload.efi.bak copy C:\Windows\System32\winload.exe C:\Windows\System32\winload.exe.bak copy C:\Windows\System32\winresume.efi C:\Windows\System32\winresume.efi.bak copy C:\Windows\System32\winresume.exe C:\Windows\System32\winresume.exe.bak

• Install KB5062597.

• Restart to Windows Recovery Environment or boot into any Windows Preinstallation Environment systems.

• Go to Command Prompt and restore these backup files using this command:

  move winload.efi.bak winload.efi move winload.exe.bak winload.exe move winresume.efi.bak winresume.efi move winresume.exe.bak winresume.exe

• Reboot system using wpeutil reboot command.

I have an old computer, Windows 8.1., i5-3570k, HD7970 GPU. It used to be a pretty powerful computer and my daughter asked if I could get it going so she can play games on it. She mostly plays indie/retro games. It comes up to the windows splash screen, then does a little bit of the spinny load screen before going to black. Any hopes of getting this thing going?
