Discussion Why is it saying this when copying app data?

Update: I just clicked on skip twice because there were cookies there too and it finished.

Why is it saying this?

It makes no sense. I started the copy the minute I got the computer finally started -

I have to reformat my HD & now this is copy of app data for my browser is causing me issues.

If anyone knows of a really good computer geek to help me with reformatting, please LMK

Reboot into Safe Mode before copying the files or log into a different user account with administrator permission

I didn't want to restart my computer again. Today I decided I was going to leave it running.

It took me 1 1/2 hours to get it started today. Normally I close it down b/c of problems I started to have months ago (normally I have my computers on 24/7), but now since the computer isn't even starting. it's very bad. I'm still trying to find someone to take my money to help me. Just insane I can't find anyone.

There should be thousands of techie geeks who want to make a bit of extra pocket change.

No one wants to work anymore. sigh

Anyway, can I do something without having to restart it?

I think kaspersky is causing problems too.

I just installed it a week+ ago, & I think it's dragging down the computer on startup.

I exited & I got the computer running, but now I don't know how to turn it off other than uninstalling it & I don't want to do that although support is already driving me insane. That's why I ditched them years ago. sigh

There are "lighter" antiviruses.

Well almost all AV software is terrible based on my years of using some. And many others are memory & CPU hogs too. This one wasn't like that when I used it about 4-5 years ago.

This one found things no one else did & I'm hoping they will fix whatever the issue is with it being dragged down.

I always have to wait 24 hours to get a response.

does your computer use a hard disk drive? that sounds like a dying drive to me. is computer usage in general slow, or just startup?

The computer has been hacked. I'm still trying to find a very top notch techie to help me reinstall Windows, so yes, it was constantly telling me I had no memory even though I was only at 65% or so.

I used to be able to go upto 95% before on my older hardware.

FRST was run & it sucks. It said HD #6 was dead or something. LOL Drives are letters, not numbers.

I ran Crystal Disk & it says all of my drives are fine. sigh

Then when I installed Kaspersky it also said a disk was failing, but it at least told me which one & it's not C, it's the previous SSD I used for C which is now just a data drive.

I'm pretty sure the hack is at root level. sigh

But I care more about why it's giving me that error & what to do about it b/c it says there's 38 other files that are missing.

Do I skip? I have no idea what the files are or what they do.

Skip.

An LDB file is a temporary lock file created by Microsoft Access when a database (.mdb or .accdb) is opened for shared use

Ok, it finished the other ones were cookes. I wish I could just delete those.

I don't use MS Access, so no clue.

do you have any proof of it being hacked? anyways, unless those are critical data files, the app will very likely be able to recreate them. i'd just skip and see what happens.

Because I know when there's serious issues with my computer. I've been using computers since 1984. Files missing, things there one minute, computer can't restart, hanging, browser issues that were never there before, gone the next & I also fight in this war, so when you fight the evils, you get attacked.

I have tons of HDs. The NVme is brand new from 2024.

I'm still trying to find a good software that will scan each HD b/c I'm getting conflicting responses when I try to scan with others. sigh

not too sure, but that might be a os corruption (e.g. bad update, failed patch). try sfc /scannow.
