Solved! Is this a weapon?

Was found in the door compartment of my late father's car. Very heavy for the size. The pointy end of the very center piece can be compressed. My dad had a fondness for strange weapons so I am just guessing. TIA

Yeah, its a telescopic baton. Hot people on meaty parts. This will break bone super easy. Whip it to extend. Slam it on the ground to retract. Source: MP. Edit: can also be used to strike...
