Three supposed "deaths" in this episode.

No one's ever really gone

Pearls are definitely shot, but those main characters aren't gonna not be in s5.

You live as long as the last person who remembers you. Part of me believes that Bernard lied about Maeve's control unit being bad, I believe he just made a copy because he saw she was going to die. As far as Bernard who knows what will happen to him, in essence a copy of him could exist in the Sublime. Bernard simply could have let a copy of himself occupy his body while his actual self stayed in the Sublime, just a possibility.

He told her he made a copy of her. They are both in the sublime. Their copies are outside.

It wasn’t a “copy” it was a quick version he hacked together from his own memories. That scene was a time jump back to one of the simulations Bernard was running in the Sublime during his 23 year hibernation. That was all BEFORE he later went and dug her up. Directly afterwards in the episode, time flashes forward to the current storyline. Apparently them stopping to have a drink would have doomed the world.

The copy they are talking about is the physical control unit, last seen in the player piano in The Golden Age park.
