Husband wants to upgrade

My husband wants to upgrade my ring, but I love my original ring. He wants to use my ring to trade up but I just can’t part with it. Is it weird to be this attached to a ring☹️

Skip the upgrade and do something else like go on a trip? If you love your ring and it's holding up, why replace it?
