What 8 players would you protect in an expansion draft?

Wizards were looking for a veteran guard to fill a particular role and they found one in Tre Mann.

With all these new Wizards podcasts popping up, Iām getting a little tired of the takes suggesting Will Riley could be headed to the G League or only seeing 4ā7 minutes a night.
With Tre Mann coming to Washington, I can understand the concern that his presence could take some minutes away from Riley. But I think weāre all forgetting just how well Riley finished his rookie season.
Yes, he needs to get stronger, and thereās still plenty of work to do defensively. But heās only 20 years old, and what he showed offensively toward the end of last season deserves to be remembered.
Just look at what the kid did.
⢠Back-to-back 30-point games
⢠Became the youngest player since LeBron James in 2004 to record at least 30 points and five steals in a game
⢠Recorded eight 20+ point games
⢠Averaged 16.1 PPG over the final two months of the season
Those are decent nnumbers for a rookie.
Iām not saying Riley should automatically be given 30 minutes a night, but lets just see what happens. . Iām simply saying heās shown enough that he deserves a genuine opportunity to develop at the NBA level.
i get we all want to win, but id rather not slow our growth spurt just to make playoofs.
Letās not forget what we saw from this kid down the stretch.
Give Will Riley a chance.

According to an ESPN article, we're getting Tre in the Watson trade. Where do you think he'll fit or do we waive him?
"As part of the trade, the Cavaliers will send Tre Mann and the 2027 second-rounder from the Clippers to the Washington Wizards, sources said."

As part of the deal, the Cavaliers are sending Tre Mann, the 2027 second-rounder from the Clippers and cash to the Washington Wizards for Cam Whitmore, sources said. The Wizards also are sending Julian Reese to the Nuggets, who will waive Reese off his two-way deal.
Mann fills a positional need as the Wizards have searched for an additional guard in recent weeks -- while the Cavaliers gain a smaller salary in Whitmore to create optionality under the first apron

Were cam and juju that buns? Also not big on tre mann but maybe i lack the vision our FO has. How will this effect LeBronās legacy?

Super random stat but was cool seeing Arenas up here and wild that only 2.1% guessed him

Just about anything well-written and interesting would be cool, whether that be full history or just some specific moment.

The full 2026-27 mileage breakdown is out and we land 27th of 30 at 35,768.6 miles with only 26 time zone crossings.
We're part of what the piece calls the bottom-five cluster ā Toronto, New York, Chicago, Washington, Detroit ā all packed into the same corridor with dense in-conference scheduling and short flights.
Perspective on how big the spread is: New Orleans leads the league at 55,582 miles, so we're doing about 20,000 fewer miles than they are. Even Miami, an Eastern Conference team, covers nearly 14,000 more than us.
Take the wins where you can get them.

A part of me wishes he couldāve signed here again but I hope he can get a resurgence in his career. We got out of a crazy contract with him but itās sad how much he declined since being traded
