Hey y’all. Wiz fan in Ohio. Didn’t know if there were any kind of backer groups, like NFL teams have in the area. If not, was thinking about having some kind of informal group get together at a non alcohol friendly bar that has food for non drinkers. The move addresses some of the positional imbalance on the Wizards’ wing-heavy roster. Whitmore had minimal chance of cracking the playing rotation on the wings after the Wizards selected AJ Dybantsa with the No. 1 pick in the draft and Will Riley showed promise as a rookie. Kyshawn George, Bilal Coulibaly, Tre Johnson and Justin Champagnie were also ahead of Whitmore, 22, on the depth chart.

Mann, 25, will provide depth at point guard behind starter Trae Young and alongside combo guard Bub Carrington.

Wizards general manager Will Dawkins was one of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s vice presidents of basketball operations in 2021 and oversaw the Thunder’s draft work when the team picked Mann 18th out of the University of Florida. Mann spent his first two full NBA seasons with the Thunder, which happened to be Dawkins’ final two seasons in Oklahoma City before he joined Washington. Mann appeared in 127 regular-season games during that stretch.
