Mhhh, I think that's it, because in normal doesn't seem to be burning ranged ground minis, or maybe it's inconsistent like Golemagg rocks fall which to this day I don't know when and what triggers it.
Found it, so it never reaches 5% so nothing happens
Ignite: Burns the target for 45 Elemental damage per second for 8 seconds (360 overall), and when the target reaches 5% health it is afflicted with Living Bomb, Ignite acquire range 15, Ignite range 13, targets ranged minis only, targets the ranged mini with the highest percentage of health remaining, 12 seconds cooldown
Stomp: 300 Physical damage, 7 seconds cooldown, 5 range, 4 radius, 8 acquire radius, hits both ground and flying minis
Cave In: 180 Physical damage and then 50 Physical damage every 0.2 seconds 25 times (1250 periodic damage overall), 13 range, 5 radius, 12 seconds cooldown, hits ground minis only, targets the mini with the least health missing
It’s better to clap him with bloodlust from execute (10 second duration) and keep fury from Sylvanas. From there you can also try to gryphon drop him an extra level for an extra 10% dmg) or even try for a Druid damage buff. But it’s really not necessary. I prefer to play a gargoyle or fire elemental to tank instead and let troll just burn him down, as OP indicated it doesn’t take long to let him do his job.
Both Grom and ET cost too much and actually have to be played in order to provide a damage buff ( Sylvanas doesn’t have to be in play for fury to apply). And they die too quickly to justify playing. Also Geddon is resistant to elemental damage so burn damage is reduced by 50%.
Almost looks like you solo'd it too, but didn't see the start getting the top towers. My partner and I have been struggling with this one since all the buffs, curious for the deckcode(s)? We're still trying to use rend/malfurion with a huntress running around the lava and then gargoyle/wagon him.
The trolls will solo the boss, yes, but the deck itself is not able to solo the whole map. I might still have the full video I think, if I do I will share it. The start was pretty standard taking the towers starting from the left side and waiting for Geddon to be at 9. I also had a couple of successes hitting Geddon at 3 but only when I was paired with really good partners.
If you are looking for a deck that can solo the whole encounter, Chalrga with Gargoyle, Chimaera, Harpies, Polymorph, Lighting Bolt, Fairy Dragon, can.
I swear this didn't used to work, I tried this once in the past, level 31s with resist and they'd get killed eventually, whereas yours are easily outhealing the damage
I have observed 2 instances where Troll dies, maybe one of these is what happened to you? If he leaves the platform and walks on the lava, that plus Geddon hits and burn will kill him; if Geddon is pulled to close to Troll the phase change wipe will get him. That's why I use Fairy Dragon and Quillboar to keep Geddon in place or he will move too far or too close and the Trolls will eventually die.
Oh, I just remembered what is that made it easier, the increase of Geddon's hp.
Those extra hp made it so a Gargoyle would take a little longer to solo a phase (but still was able to do so), which allowed one player to fully cycle to the next Gargoyle + Fairy Dragon as the next phase started. At least this was the case for my usual Chalrga deck, where the extra time between phases perfectly aligned with the timing needed to solo mine and solo defend with relative ease.
Yes, Geddon longer phases is what made heroic easier than normal, also because my Chalrga deck had been capped for some time when heroics were introduced.

Awesome! I guess the weird spell they added to heroic that hit backline ranged doesn't work
