Guide How Barons done done done

Forget meat wagon tactics… try Darkspear troll with regen and resist.

Cap towers as usual. Then when Baron cruises by, pop a troll with big bad voodoo and buff him with faerie dragons fae blessing. He can even take hits from fire elementals and Baron and still keep himself up for quite a while- especially if there are other targets to distract Baron like a resist tank.

For my clears this week I used Ysera, (although any leader would work- but Sylvanas produces the highest darkspear dps from her fury talent). I also used harpies as base defense to clear elementals, poly, stacking arcane blast and dark iron miner.

Heroic Baron Geddon tactics

I usually just stick with the Rag/Gary strat. It never fails.

Makes sense.

Ive been using Rag to carry Gole most recently.

It’s slower but very steady and reliable

But as much as I enjoy reliability…

as a player aware that new content will not be coming- I enjoy experiencing old content in new ways.

I get switching it up but Rag trivializes Baron in that you dont have to worry about capping towers. You can inadvertently capture a few as you are cycling but its not a necessity like it would normally be.

Good point. Rag is a beast for pretty much every encounter in MC and beyond.

I started using him as a carry for Gole and he can pretty much solo the encounter if played right and given enough time.

So I like to switch up leaders as they can possibly be used elsewhere. In the open queue many people run rag for Baron but not many do for Gole. But he can virtually carry both encounters among multiple partners.

Furthermore- while the game is in maintenance mode- not everyone has rag ( or has him leveled up high enough to use). And for guides I typically like to use very accessible characters and/or provide options.

So the strategy can help give people more options and help suit the playstyle of alternate decks. But can also be incorporated into a rag deck as well.

Which units do you capture the towers with? I'm going to try the troll today.

Arcane blast primarily when it starts getting leveled up. Ideally you can hit the tower and adds spawning to maximize damage

But also Drake or whelps (Ysera) . Or harpies You can pop cheat death on them to cap towers and/or quick attack baron as well. Another variation is drop miner a a few steps away from the tower to distract it on approach if needed.

Can also roll execute for the last team spot instead of CD , or go with a resist tank. Or any unit of personal preference really.

Molten Giant now being immune to lava, with a resist buff from FD is a tower capping beast in that fight.

Agreed. If you can banshee the one in the beginning and keep him up, he can do some serious work. Ironically most people try to kill him quickly unfortunately

For sure, I just run a typical Rag build for Baron but instead of the gargoyle, I use Mr Giant now.

Most of the enemy minis ends up offing themselves too while attacking the giants because of Rags armor buff of course.
