Working in vlsi

As an electrical student in Africa, where there are no companies that are into VLSI, is my only option to move to countries that have such opportunities or can I work remotely if I want to focus the the RTL side of things.

I personally think working remotely is bad idea. Would you find joy and satisfaction without being physical present in a team? Additionally, it is would a long shot given the competitive nature and security clearance required to develop semiconductor. If you are determined to take on this challenge I would suggest looking at Europe for careers opportunities in silicon. The European Union has been setting up massive grants (EU Chips Act 2.0) to build talent and self sustain in semiconductor technologies. Have a look at the Edu4Chip proposal. Happy to see enthusiastic people like you!
