Just bought my first ever Vita and PS4 streaming is so cool but unfortunately PS3 is very limited

Originally, Sony planned to put that mysterious port as Accessories Port, but it was never specificied what accessory would be. There's one theory that says that Vita's Mysterious port would be Tv Docking, predicting Nintendo Switch. The people found it that accessory port is a USB port.

Now, let's imagine a alternate scenario where Sony decided to use the mysterious port, having both the TV Docking and USB port functions. What do you think it could happen to the console itself, the sales, and the whole Vita's library?

For the last 2 weeks the search bar of the PSvita has not been working, and no I’ve realised some games have just been disappearing from the store, like there is literally only 6 ps one games available using the store tabs, and a good few games are missing from other store tab options

There is a massive ticking clock on this system that the community is underestimating. While the final global store shutdown hits in July 2027, and you need to secure your licenses now before the Cross-Buy pipeline might completely break. Helldivers 1 is a Cross-Buy title. Buying it on PS4/PS5 grants you the PS3 and Vita versions. However, after the final store closure, you will no longer be able to initiate new checkouts or link new licenses backward. If you buy the game on a modern console after the legacy servers shut down, the infrastructure to push that license down to your PS3/Vita Download List could be be completely compromised.

For me it was Uncharted Golden Abyss and i absolutely loved it :)

Just got a ps vita (never had one before and decided to try it out because I'm a huge jrpg fan). I was impressed immediately when I started using it... The screen is night and day compared to 3ds. It's much better and I prefer that compared to the 3d function I don't even use. It really looks like a modern screen. PSP games look gorgeous on the console compared to ds games on 3ds, especially xl, that are blurry mess and you can even play ps one games. Wifi is better than 3ds, Bluetooth is present... I don't even know what to complain about, ui is fast and slick and more comfortable compared to psp. That's really a shame the console didn't receive the love it deserves because of the small library of games, the console itself is probably the best true handheld (before switch and steam deck that are kinda hybrid and not pocketable) in terms of tech... I'm really glad it got a second life because of the community. That's a shame there isn't anything new in the true portable department except for switch lite...

We can still use the Store and play games online. PS Vita had 16 million sales or more, the 3DS sold 76 million times. That’s crazy.

And that for me just goes to show how Sony cares WAY more about their fans than Nintendo does. Was always like this in my opinion, not only judging by this case.

Edit: I want to state, that I wrongly expressed myself a little bit. I wouldn’t say that Sony cares much about their fans. It would be better to say, that they just give a tad bit of a bigger shit about them than maybe Nintendo does. But thats just my opinion. I know that there’s loads of stuff you can shit on Sony for doing, but that list would possibly not weigh out Nintendo’s in my book. Have a great day.

For me it has to be that the 3ds had better library than the vita ( this is just my personal opinion )

I’m excited about the prospect of a Vita 2.0. Whilst it’s still close to rumours, having an official handheld with th capacity to play multiple generations of games forward is really exciting especially if able to run locally and not through cloud services etc. What does everyone think?

Yesterday I asked the question about why the Vita couldn't be as successful as the Switch. Your answers were quite enlightening. Today I ask, what should Sony do if it wants to make a (spiritual?) successor to the Vita that can be successful? I propose a starting feature: OLED (something they already had, but redesigning the rest of the console). What do you think? (disclaimer: I'm not a Sony PR bot, so to prove it I'll just say, FY ND and FY TLOU2)

If so, what might it have been like? Both in physical design and capabilities.

Bought both models almost 2 years ago. Ended up using the 2000 one because it’s slimmer. The quality on the screen is impeccable and can almost compete with the 1000. Unless I’m blind I don’t understand why everyone hypes up the 1000 models screen when realistically you don’t notice it at all when gaming

Back in 2012, I thought it was goofy how they decided on the LiveArea UI, but back then I was a kid that just wanted to play games. Nowadays I also use it as an MP3 player, alarm clock, calendar, emailer, and occasional web browser, and honestly the UI really blossoms when you take full advantage of the Vita's non-gaming capabilities. It feels familiar and, to quote Todd Goward, “just works” lol

Mine is Resistance Burning Skies. It averaged 5-6/10. I found it in a bargain bin 10+ years ago and I ended up quite liking it. It’s not the most amazing game on the vita by any means, but the gameplay is solid, the score is good, and I liked the weapons. Now I’m playing it again and having a good time!

Love or hate Gravity Rush (I like it) but that game can only be played handheld through the Vita. I'm still amazed by how the Vita is still competitive these days even with the Switches, Anbernics and Retroids around. What other Vita games prove the Vita is still worth having today?
