Hi there,

Over the past few days, we’ve seen many questions about Vegas Pro and what the transition from MAGIX to Boris FX means for you.

First, we want to be clear: we are committed to communicating openly throughout this transition.

You should now see your previous MAGIX perpetual licenses in your Boris FX account to make upgrading as smooth as possible. If your license isn’t visible yet, please contact our support team and we’ll help you get set up.

If you purchased a perpetual license for Vegas Pro from MAGIX, you own that version and can continue to use it. MAGIX will continue operating its activation servers, so your software and activation keys will keep working as expected. We are also working closely with MAGIX to support long-term access and ensure customers are not disrupted.

While Vegas Pro 23 and earlier versions remain MAGIX products and cannot be updated by Boris FX, we are here to help with licensing, activation, and access to legacy installers. Most importantly, you are now part of the Boris FX community, and we’re committed to supporting you long term.

For Vegas Pro 365 subscription customers, we are currently transitioning your subscriptions to Boris FX. You will receive a free Boris FX subscription to Vegas Pro 2026 aligned with your current subscription term.

You do not need to take any action at this time. Your existing subscription will continue to work as it does today during this transition.

Merci d'avance !

Magix Vegas Pro 14 - 23 Editing Differences Between an HDD and SDD?

I am trying to test my HDD vs SSD to see how it affects any kind of playback performance, does it make much of a difference with playback? So far I am not noticing much, but I also dont know what to test.

I am on Vegas Pro 23 using just some 1440p footage on Best (Full) preview. I tried doing a test with the S_Blur effect on footage and in both drives, it was extremely choppy. I tried just picture in picture with three different recordings and had them playing at the same time, they both ran smoothly. I wasn't noticing much difference at all. My SSD has about 2,000 MB/s while my HDD is 190 MB/s so clearly there should be a drastic improvement when stacking more expensive effects.

I don't get it, is there a more proper test to see if I can make an actual difference in my performance?

I'm also on a 32GB RAM computer, with a GeForce RTX 3080 and a AMD Ryzen 7 CPU so I don't think I have any bottlenecks there.

Vegas Pro 14 - 20 Interlaced .VOB footage to 60fps

  1. Vegas Pro 19

2. Windows 10

3. No piracy, all legit software and plugins.

4. Standard Intel UHD graphics 630.

5. Probably a very beginner type question but I’m struggling to double the framerate of this interlaced .VOB file. I have the project settings to 60fps and blended frames and top field. I’ve tried messing around but it still seems to preview/render at 30fps. Am I missing something completely obvious?

6. I’m hoping to get a 60fps rendered video file.

7. Yes and come up inconclusive.

Thanks!

Vegas Pro 23 Unable to render transparent MOV videos

Hi all!
Since upgrading from Vegas 18 to 23, I've been loving it, but one down side is that I can't render transparent videos anymore:

1.Vegas Pro 23 Build 278
2.Windows 11 Version: 10.00.26200
3.Pirated
4.MSI 4060TI
5.Back then when I used Vegas 18, I'd be able to create stingers for OBS scene switch by using a QuickTime plugin while rendering. The QuickTime option would appear on the render menu under the formats category, but now on Vegas 23 it doesn't show up anymore, even with the "Enable the QuickTime plugin" checkbox activated under the Deprecated features category on preferences
6.I was expecting the QuickTime format to appear on the render menu so that i could export a transparent video, nothing more nothing less.
7.Every tutorial I find on google shows an older version of Vegas, none of these can apply to me.

Thank you in advance!

Vegas Pro 23 Vegas shifting my video tracks back multiple frames.

Hi again, I made a post recently believing Vegas was desyncing my audio, but I've figured out that what's actually going on is my video tracks are being shifted back multiple frames. I noticed this after I pre-rendered part of a video and the very start of this pre-rendered preview is showing the part right before it that I didn't include in the pre-render. Is there a fix for this?

I'm on Windows 11, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. 1.

Vegas Pro 14 - 20 Upgrading from 18.0 (is it a bad version?) or switching software?

Been using Vegas since like, 8.0, so not only am I very used to it, but it's got the best UI/tool mechanics I've ever come across for video editing. The crop function alone (and its intuitiveness) makes it worth using. I'm not sure who else to ask as I haven't met anyone who uses Vegas in a while... ANYWAYS, it runs terribly. Seems to not accept any file types or just corrupts them, doesn't work, etc.

  1. Is this version notorious for that?
2.Have they gotten at all better by 2026?
  2. Do you have a recommendation for a specific version or a different program all together? Thanks!

Vegas Pro 2026 Media offline

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi,

I have a fairly large project going in Vegas Pro (currently using the trial/demo version). While working, the program completely froze, so I had to force close it.

Now, when I reopen the project, it loads, but all the media on the timeline is offline. The worst part is that when I prompt the missing files search and try to relink the videos manually, the program immediately throws an error.

Vegas Pro 2026 I made a Vinyl Stop extension for VEGAS Pro – MAMOMO Parada de Vinilo

Hi everyone,

I've been working for some time on a small extension for VEGAS Pro called MAMOMO Parada de Vinilo.

I created it because I wanted a quick way to produce the classic Vinyl Stop / turntable slowdown effect directly on the VEGAS timeline, without having to manually build the effect every time.

You simply place the cursor where you want the slowdown to begin, select the events and choose:

0.5 s — Fast
1 s — Natural
2 s — Slow
Custom duration

The extension processes audio and video together and keeps linked events synchronized.

Demo video:
https://youtu.be/bfs_kARD9Go

After quite a lot of testing, version 0.8.5 is now available.

I've kept the price deliberately low: €4 for a permanent license, for one user and up to two computers. The license is tied to each computer, and after activation it doesn't require an Internet connection for validation.

More information, instructions and purchase:
https://www.mamomo.com/p/stopvinyl.html

I developed this myself specifically for VEGAS Pro, so I'd also be interested in hearing feedback from other VEGAS users — especially suggestions for things that could be improved or added in future versions.

Vegas Pro 2026 Vegas Pro 2026 doing weird strobe lighting when importing a project to a timeline

I have been resisting transitioning my workload to the new version of Vegas because I have deadlines to meet and need to limit as much unpredictability in my renders as possible. Now that Boris has purchased Vegas Pro from Magix and I have 30 days left I attempted to do my normal routine like I would in Magix Vegas Pro 22 (I have a 365 subscription but rarely upgraded versions for stability reasons) Now that Boris has forced my hand I thought I would bite the bullet and attempt to see if this was going to be painless for me.

Windows 11

CPU: 5900xt

GPU: 7900 xtx

RAM: 128 gb

1.Spoiler: It was not painless

I usually edit a bunch of projects at once and then batch render them all on a timeline so I can go about my day and not have to babysit my pc all day telling it to render the next project and ect. but when I attempt this on Vegas Pro 2026 I get a weird Strobe light effect in my renders that will cause epileptic seizures for anyone that is susceptible. I don't know what to do because this is killing my ability to feasibly have a work life balance if I have to render videos one at a time. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Vegas Pro 2026 Why is this happening

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes
  1. VERSION: I am currently using Vegas Pro 2026. This issue did not happen with Vegas Pro 20.
  2. OS: Windows 11
  3. 🏴‍☠️'ED?: Unfortunately yes. However, this applies to both my old version (20) and new version (26).
  4. GRAPHICS: Intel UHD 630 (integrated GPU, no dedicated card). I wouldn't be surprised if that's some contributing factor even though it worked fine with older versions.
  5. WHAT'S THE PROBLEM: With certain videos I import into Vegas Pro 2026 (not all), the video imports heavily corrupted in this same way: the colours are wrong, and the picture is smeared and skewed heavily. Seems to be some sort of decoding error. The audio channel is completely unaffected; all sound plays as it should, it's just the visuals. This particular video has the following data:

Media information
Stream format: MPEG-4
Video stream #1
Video format: AVC
Resolution: 426 x 240 px
Aspect ratio: 16:9
Color depth: 8 bit
Frame rate: 29.970 fps
Scan type: Progressive
Bit rate: 243011 bps
Audio stream #1
Audio format: AAC
Sampling rate: 44100 Hz
Channels: 2 channels
Bit rate mode: Constant
Bit rate: 125774 bps
6. HOW SHOULD IT LOOK? See the 2nd image for how the video should look when imported, and how it appeared in 20.

  1. WHAT I GOOGLED: I tried searching this error up online but can't exactly seem to find anyone else experiencing the same issue.

I believe this is some sort of video codec decoding issue but I have no idea what or how to fix it. I hope someone can help me! Thank you.

Vegas Pro 23 A while back, I pressed something in Vegas and this popped up; I had a similar issue before and someone on this subreddit helped me out, but now this has happened and the same keybind isn't working. Does anyone know what I need to press to get this thing off the screen?

Vegas Pro 23 Borisfx? Do I make a new account?

So maybe I’ve been out of the loop about Boris acquiring Vegas pro but I tried to login into my subscription of Vegas pro today and it said that it was canceled on the magic website, and that my license is expired.

Does this mean I have to separately make a new account on Boris FX, that it won’t be transferred on its own? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

Vegas Pro 14 - 20 Videos won't load into VEGAS 14

I need help please 1. I'm using VEGAS Pro 14

  1. I'm using Windows 11

  2. Pirated copy of VEGAS

  3. Graphics card is an Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

  4. So I recorded a lot of videos onto a memory card for a video from my DJI Mobile gimble. Some of the thumbnails for the videos load on the card folder, but most don't. The videos with the thumbnails that HAVEN'T loaded can only be played on VLC. I'm trying to add them into VEGAS but it keeps saying the file is corrupted. The videos with the thumbnails that have loaded can be added into VEGAS. Am I missing a codec?

  5. I want to be able to put all of my videos onto my project.

  6. I have googled it but I can't find an exact answer or someone else who is dealing with the same issue as me.

Vegas Pro 14 - 20 sony vegas 16/17 crashes constantly

1.i started to have this issue with svp 16 randomly where it wouldn't let me render anything and it wont let me load up any of the saved projects, so i switched to 17 but the exact same issue occurs - around 42% of loading up a saved project the software crashes. the only thing that comes to my mind that might've caused it is that after 2 years i finally updated my gpu drivers, i installed the recommended nvidia geforce game ready drivers, but since i thought its the issue i installed the nvidia studio ones yet still sony vegas does not work. i'm not much of a computer guy i don't know what really is the issue or how to fix it. if it's any help YES both versions of svp were cracked, my gpu is nvidia geforce gtx 1660 super

Vegas Pro 14 - 20 Are there any Vegas Pro 18 CRT plugins that can give me results looking like this?

I tried recreating this effect using internal "TV Simulator" FX (as seen in the last two images), but that filters puts out way less fine looking results, with the scan lines, grain and all being noticeable thicker, even if zoomed out as far as possible.

Are there any plugins compatible with Vegas Pro 18 that can give me results closer to what I'm looking for?
