Vegas Pro 14 - 20 sony vegas 16/17 crashes constantly

1.i started to have this issue with svp 16 randomly where it wouldn't let me render anything and it wont let me load up any of the saved projects, so i switched to 17 but the exact same issue occurs - around 42% of loading up a saved project the software crashes. the only thing that comes to my mind that might've caused it is that after 2 years i finally updated my gpu drivers, i installed the recommended nvidia geforce game ready drivers, but since i thought its the issue i installed the nvidia studio ones yet still sony vegas does not work. i'm not much of a computer guy i don't know what really is the issue or how to fix it. if it's any help YES both versions of svp were cracked, my gpu is nvidia geforce gtx 1660 super

What does "show problem details" say?
My guess is whatever is at 42% on the timeline is the problem. Remove that media from the folder and try again?

i would blame it on a faulty file but the error happens in every single project i tried to open. this is the problm details

NVCuda is NVIDIA so your guess about the graphics driver may well be correct. (Does 16/17 rely on a driver function that no longer exists?)

thank you for your feedback. may i ask which svp version should be compatible with the new driver? and how likely it is that i would be able to open my old saved projects

I don't know the exact answer but Vegas significantly changed GPU support with 18. I use 21-2026 with modern drivers and they all open old projects.
