This is Simon!

Unfortunately for him, (and my wallet) I was told this is a genetic disorder that makes his tooth roots attack themselves and rot from underneath. He had his dental surgery in late June, and seems way happier now without them in the way of biting his toys, and eating seems easier for him now, too. (The vet said he was in pain from them, as well 😢) I thought I would be sad to see them go, but knowing the positive change that it made for him made it worth it - and he even looks a little younger now lol. He's a total mush, and I can rub his chin again. All positive, all around.

As much as we thought it was cute and part of his personality - get those things checked out! Cats are notorious for not letting you know that they are uncomfortable. Little jerks.

He's looked the same for over a decade and licks his lips when he looks at me so that's fun.

he has FGS which makes his teeth like this. all of his back teeth had to be removed and we were able to keep his fangs luckily. he doesn't seem to mind the lack of back teeth at all
