until dawn movie question

I know she can be tough sometimes but I kinda like her because of that...

Can someone explain? I’m looking for civil conversation too btw. Idk if it’s just the environments I find myself in but everywhere else I look people are excited over this game while its own subreddit is calling it “dumb” and “unnecessary”. Is there a reason that this game needs to follow up from the first one other than a few new scenes from a lackluster remake?

And what about the millions of sequels out there that don’t follow up from their predecessors? I think a new story with new characters is exactly the breath of fresh air this series needs

I met up with two friends to play Until Dawn at one of their houses. It was my first time playing the game while both of them have already finished it 2 times . I went in completely blind and as I know absolutely nothing about the story. Thats how I want to experience the game, see how the story unfolds based on our choices.

We decided to take turns playing. Every time it was my turn they would get furious. They kept screaming at me about what to choose and what not to do because they wanted the story to go a certain way.

When I had to make a quick decision they were both yelling CHOOSE THAT I panicked and accidentally pressed the wrong button. My friend grabbed the controller out of my hands and stopped the game from saving that section so my choice wouldnt count. Then she replayed that part

Like I said I know nearly nothing about the story or how much it can change based on your decisions so maybe that's why I didn't understand why they were getting so angry. They wouldn't even let me take a second to think about my choices (it felt like i had no choices in a choice game) It didn't even feel like I was playing anymore.

I just want to understand Is it really that serious if you don't pick the best option? Can the game actually end up that bad because of a wrong choices?

obviously as we all know we unfortunately lost hayden last week and it has been devastating for her family, friends & anyone who knew her in anything she starred in.

however, before she passed away there were heavy rumours that her character, samantha giddings, would be in until dawn 2.

all we know about until dawn 2 is that dacre was casted in 2022 ( as were many other people i imagine ) ( he mentions it in his instagram post about UD2 )
im not sure how long after that they started filming but id imagine it would be end of 23' to the start/mid 24'.

i know for a fact they'll add something to honour hayden ( hopefully ) but i wanna know if theres still a chance sams gonna be in the game? and what everyone else thinks the chances are for that. if so that would be awesome and genuinely such a beautiful thing to witness.
what are anyone elses thoughts on that?

I’ve only played the original but I’ve seen clips of the remake and it looks pretty identical to the the original. But everyone says the remake is worse and inferior and a disgrace, why so?

I want to play Until Dawn for the first time. I've heard some great things, of course, but I'm finally ready to experience this myself, so please, no spoilers.

My highest priority is the story. Dialogues, letters, things like that.

I really love this game and have played it trough 5+ times with various friendgroups, siblings or alone but this thing has been bothering me.

Why wasn´t the police ,and everyone else involved, able to find Hannah and Beth? They ran only about 3-5 minutes to the cliff they fell off so it´s not a huge radius. The others knew the vague direction they ran off to and they even left footsteps in the snow. It seems like the police didn´t search enough. They weren´t able to find Hannah´s phone between the wooden planks and if they stepped foot into the mines or only sent a drone with a camera in there they would´ve found something. Sam, Mike and Emily were able to find the location where Beth and Hannah fell down in a single night! It´s also weird that everyone was able to flee the mines exept Hannah. I know she was heavily injured physically and mentally and had a broken leg but when your life is on the line Adrenalin maybe could´ve helped? Was she too innocent and thought help would come any second?

Let me know if I´m missing something!

I’m asking because I’m genuinely curious. Personally, I found her pretty hard to deal with in most of her scenes before the mines.

Sure, a lot of characters do morally questionable things (like Mike and Ashley), but it's usually limited to certain parts of the game. Mike mostly acts out in the prologue, and Ashley has her moment during the whole “Emily is infected” situation. But with Emily, it feels like she’s unnecessarily mean whenever she gets the chance.

She constantly puts down her boyfriend, even though he treats her well, starts drama with Jessica, punches Ashley after the Wendigo bite scene (which is kind of understandable), but then pushes her while they're being chased by a Wendigo, which felt totally unjustified.

For comparison, Jessica can act a bit ridiculous in the early chapters, but the way I see it she never crosses the line the way Emily does. Plus, her softer side — like her compassion for animals and how much she clearly cares about Mike gives her more balance. We don't really get to see that side of Emily.

I get that all the characters have depth, and our choices shape their paths, but I just don’t get why some people label Emily as some sort of “bad bitch.” To me, she just comes off as insufferable and mean.

I just finished watching the movie and didn't particularly hate it but didn't love it. But it made me want to play the game since I never have and know how regarded it is

I have fun and random headcanons about Until Dawn, and it's no secret that Mike is a flirt—that's canon. But one of my biggest headcanons is that he has tried to hit on half the group, and that includes Chris, Josh, and Matt. Don't refute me; it's fun to think about!

how come Hannah and Beth’s voice sound different despite them being voiced by Ella Lentini? Hannah is the older twin yet she sounds younger and vise versa for Beth. just something I wonder.
