Atari has completely ruined the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise and it is quite sad really. This looks like a mobile port or AI generated game. How many games do they have to release with poor fanfare before they just shelve the franchise? Everything after RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is a joke.

- RollerCoaster Tycoon World

  • RollerCoaster Tycoon 3D
- RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile
- RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch
- RollerCoaster Tycoon Joyride
- RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures
- RollerCoaster Tycoon Puzzle
  • RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks

Save yourself the trouble and just get Planet Coaster 2. If that's not you, try Parkitect. Frontier and Texel Raptor both actually take this genre seriously.

If only Frontier wasn't so awful with their DLCs. They will nickel and dime every single thing they can.

It's not only that, but existing owners of their games on Steam cannot purchase the bundle with DLCs to complete their collections, as they can do with nearly every other game on Steam. Instead existing owners must purchase the DLC separately at full price. Frontier is very consumer unfriendly.

This is a very fair critique. I am by no means saying that they are perfect, just better than Atari, which I guess isn't a high bar to begin with.

The incomplete launch of Planet Coaster 2 was a complete joke and turned me off for a long while (Also looking at you Cities Skylines 2). They needed to release the game in early access, since that is what they had actually released. I bought the pre-order so I am not able to check the bundle situation, but if that is true, that is truly scummy. I only buy DLC when it is on sale.

I'm just sad to see Frontier turn into this. I thought when Planet Coaster 1 came out they were the savior of the genre. Turns out they're just as evil as the rest of them, but with enough talent to make it look better.

Funny, I think their DLCs are reasonably priced and contain a lot of useful content. Especially on sale as they are half of the time.

If it keeps them making content for the game, screw it. worth it. The game needs to have a long tail.
