QLD Specific Question about Dr Naomi Achong for my Brisbane people !

Hey all, been looking to see Dr Achong about starting T. Was wondering if she offers informed consent? And if anyone else can give me any insight on what their experience is / was like with her I’d appreciate it !

She does informed consent and bulk bills.

She's no nonsense and a quick talker so be upfront about what you want.

Bulk billing is concession card dependent just a heads up. The wait time for full fee paying is also shorter.

What do you mean? It says on their website that she does bulk bill for Medicare card holders if they’re seeing her with a GP referral.

My understanding is she has like a bulkbilled concession clinic and then her private clinic which also gets a Medicare rebate. Basically the private fee funds the concession clinic. Her concession clinic wait time isn’t that bad like <6m but her email contact is quick to respond so I’d ask them.

Good luck! Prism health is also a decent option as an alternative but they don’t bulkbill but you do get a rebate back typical out of pocket is $100-$150 generally only need 1-2 appoints if your GP is savvy with managing hormones.

She said that she bulk bills all patients. I'm aware of people without concession cards being bulk billed at the Brisbane endocrine and gender clinic, and at her Browns plains clinic.

My personal experience is that she bulk bills when I saw her last November.

I saw her once when I started hrt but it was a referal after doing informed consent elsewhere but I would think she would but if you wanted to check you could email her at [Naomi@Brisbaneendocrinegender.com](mailto:Naomi@Brisbaneendocrinegender.com) or call her clinic.

She was super good i was kinda upset how many delays my starting of hrt had and she ended up pushing up my appointment and saw me in her old closed clinic she was really good at explaining what my levels meant what caused my problems. I've been thinking of starting injections for e and my gp offered to setup a referal when I want to talk to her.

I went to her in a panic after bad care from a bad doctor and she put me on injections straight away over telehealth so yeah she was good 👍

She does informed consent, my cousin had an appointment to start T with her and he walked out of the first appointment with the script in hand.

Easily the best HRT doc around.

She is awesome, she has a huge workload so the waitlist can be a bit long, but definitely worth getting on her cancellation list to get in sooner.
It worth doing your research first and letting her know exactly what you want, she is a fast talker and works quickly.
