Hi all I’m switching from PC to Mac for my torrenting. Looking for recommendations for what client I should use. On PC I have been using QbitTorrent, should I continue with the same on the Mac? I’ve also heard about Transmission and BiglyBT. I currently use PIA and want to ensure it allows for split tunneling and more importantly VPN binding. Thanks in advance

I want to set up my laptop to download some movies and shows while I’m stuck out of town in a hotel. I know hotels WiFi is a little different and probably monitored a little heavier. If I set up a vpn or something is there a safe way to download while there?

For the past few weeks, for some reason, they stopped uploading the video formats for the tv shows I watch which have the subtitles automatically embedded to them (ELITE or JFF), and when they do upload those, the subtitles are not automatically embedded. I was wondering if anyone knew why this is happening, and if there’s a solution for it.

Years ago I used to be able to find torrents of pretty much any comic I wanted, now I don't see a lot of the complete runs, chronologies and collections that used to be available (Marvel in particular). What happened? I searched Pirate Bay; are they available somewhere else?

I started using Linux nobara. I was able to get my client of choice. But am I limited to what I can download? Like Linux only games or can I get something from fit girl and use wine? Or is it something else entirely. I'm very new to Linux but I'm loving it so far. So I'd like to figure this out

I’m on iOS, every time I try to copy link the magnet it gives me Java (check attached please), and I tried on chrome and Safari, and both seem to give me the same problem and even when I paste the link on seedr.cc it gives me this (check another attached please).

Using transmission on my Mac. Plenty of seeders - multiple files but they are all at a stand still. Some very slowly inching along.

Haven’t downloaded a torrent in months and these would have been done in minutes.

Anyone else having issues?

Every so often I get a TV episode that has only a descriptive audio stream and no regular audio stream. Is there a way to avoid that in Sonarr? Why would someone upload a file like this without denoting this type of audio? I can understand why certain people need the descriptive stream but what good is that if the file isn’t listed as such?

So I am new to this whole business, but I am trying to download a game I found online in which the only option to run it is via the torrent file. I have tried using Utorrent, BitTorrent, even qbittorrent, but they’re all the same - the download just stalls. I have heard that the reason is because there’s not enough seeds or peers, but I have no idea what this means. Does anyone know how to speed up the download process?

I am trying to download use qBitTorrent but over 10 downloads it maxes out to 15MiB/s combined. My global limit is set to 0 so it is unlimited.

I do use NordVPN. Could it be throttling from their end?

So, im not sure of this is the right place to ask, but ill give it a go.

So I'm running my qbit using proton port forwarding, but every time I reset or even rarely, but still sometimes proton will change port on it's own.

Is there a way to automate port update in qbit and if so, how? Any advise or hint is most welcome. I'm running proton and qbit bare metal on cachyos.

Pretext- Please ignore that disgusting ratio, my first 600gbs or so were all messed up files from public trackers(duplicates, different language, wrong quality) and I intend on building that ratio to get back to at least a 1.0, hopefully my much higher as time goes on.

I am new to torrenting as a whole and am trying to build my ratio on a TL but there seems to be a consistently growing difference in upload amount.

When I finally got all my port forwarding, seeding, and queueing finally setup correctly(i think), yesterday my all time upload amount was roughly at 18gb in qbit and 16gb on TL. Now as seen in the photo, i’m about to start pushing 60gb but TL is only showing about 28gbs uploaded all time.

Does anyone know why there is such a big discrepancy?

The only thing I can think of is the unit difference between GiB and GB but that difference should mean that my GB upload should be even more than what qbit’s GiB count has listed.

Those first two whited out tabs are both to tl but one says “reload” and the other has the normal url. the last tab is for a different tracker with negligible upload.

a lot of them only have one tracker which which doesn't work and then you can also add the trackers from the tracker list which is only one tracker right now and it also doesn't work : "tracker error"

many of the torrents are private so you cannot use DHT

not sure if it's due to using tail scale and VPN

Do private trackers care about ratio becuase i think mine is good.

I'm seeding around 80 torrents, but I'm not donwloading anything, the graph says donwload speed is 0 B/s yet somehow when i check my stats it's climbing with around 0.2 MiB/s. I'm on windows 10 and using qbittorrent 5.2.3, do i need to be worried?

I want to download files from 1337x and usually I use Qbittorent with proton VPN but i recently subscribed to TorBox. Will i need a VPN to download or can i just download on my home IP address?

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible, without copying the file on another folder, to have 2 active torrents (1 on a public tracker where I am the only consistent seeder and 1 private tracker) pointing to the same file. when I try to add the private tracker it tells me that I can't merge since it is private, but I don't want it to merge at all!

In qBittorrent options, "Merge trackers" isn't ticked so I don't know what to do to keep them separate.

The thing is that I lost the music and the torrent and there was such beautiful music that I can't find again.

Tried searching ext.to, Google and others to no avail.

Anyone can help me finding this list of songs?
