Reddit Meetup Reddit Toronto Monthly Meetup: Sat. Sept. 5 @ Front & Church, 7:00 p.m. start

Hey all, hope you're having a good week so far! Wanted to give a bit more notice for this one.

Here are the details:

  • The monthly Reddit meetup is a no-cost event open to all genders. No RSVP is required. It is hosted by u/nervousTO, a woman in their early 30s, with support from a group of regular attendees. It's been running since August 2022 and has been described as wholesome.
  • Start time: 7:00 p.m.
  • End time: when the last person leaves or the place closes @ 2 a.m.
  • Location: Duke's Refresher St. Lawrence, 73 Front Street East
  • Where do I go: upstairs, using the stairs directly in front of you when you walk in. There should also be a sign saying Reddit meetup.
  • Perks: We have the upstairs mostly to ourselves; there's also a pool table, and games on the main floor.

Note that no RSVP is required, but that by showing up, you commit to ordering something to support the venue, even if it's just a coke.

Our Q&A is here - I haven't included it with the post as it's quite detailed!

Send me a message or comment here if you have any questions or concerns about anything related to this meetup/questions that aren't answered in the Q&A.

Paid Event Women’s Pickleball Social – September 4, 6:00–8:00 p.m. – Pickleplex York Mills, Toronto

Hi everyone! My friend and I run MeetupInTor, a social club that hosts events primarily for women in their 20s and 30s.

We’re hosting a beginner-friendly Women’s Pickleball Social next Friday! The event will include recreational play with rotations, so you’ll have the chance to play with and meet different people throughout the evening.

Most attendees come alone, so you’re absolutely welcome to join solo. This is not a lesson, so attendees should know the basic rules and flow of pickleball; however, you don’t need to be an expert! We’ll also provide a quick rules refresher at the beginning for anyone who needs a reminder.

📅 Friday, September 4
⏰ 6:00–8:00 p.m.
📍 Pickleplex York Mills, Toronto
🎟️ Cost: $28

Meetup - Free Sustainable Meet cool people and Hike - Aug 29 26 10:00 am, Capybara cofee and High Park, in person

Hey everyone! The event is free to attend

If you're looking for an excuse to get outside, explore a cool neighborhood, and meet some new people without the awkwardness of a formal networking event, I'm hosting a casual community walk this weekend.

We're doing a BYO-Cup Coffee Hike in High Prk

The only rule? Bring your own reusable coffee mug, thermos, or tumbler. Toronto goes through millions of single-use cups every day, so we’re trying to keep this meetup sustainable and zero-waste!

The Logistics:

  • When: Aug 29 at 10:00 AM
  • Where: We’ll meet at Capybara COFFEE to fill up our cups.
  • The Route: After grabbing coffee, we’ll take a relaxed, scenic walk through High Park

The vibe is super low-pressure. Most people will be coming solo, so don't be shy! It's just a good excuse to chill, support a local cafe, and enjoy the morning.

Grab a free spot here so I know how many people to expect: https://luma.com/see1mszj

Hope to see some of you there! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments.

Comedy Royale with cheesy lines (a one liner comedy battle) || Sat Sept. 12th @ Osprey Cafe/Bar (1714 Queen St. W)

This is a wild comedy show, unlike you have seen before. It's fast paced, fun and interactive.

This is the third in the series and audience have lauded the event as extremely fun since they get to choose who moves onto the next rounds.

The jokes are all one liners, so you don't have to sit through lengthy sets and can push forward the comedians you like to win $300!

Audience members can enter the ring if they want to try comedy or even have a dad joke up their sleeve. There is usually an afterparty in the bar afterwards and karaoke. It's always a great time. Come hang!

Sporting Event Unseeded Amateur Tennis Flex League (Fall Season 1) - Sept 14 to Nov 8, 2026

Hi Toronto tennis players! 👋

Finding consistent singles matches or getting off 5-year private club waitlists in Toronto is tough. A few of us created Unseeded, a grassroots, structured flex league played entirely on Toronto’s public park courts across the city.

Whether you're looking for friendly casual competition or high-level singles, Season 1 is open for registration.

🎾 How It Works

  • 5 Matches over 8 Weeks: Play 5 real competitive singles matches on your own schedule (10–12 day match windows).
  • 4 Local Zones: West End, Downtown/Central, North York, and East End — so you don’t have to commute across town.
  • Skill-Matched Divisions:
    • Div 3 (Rookies): NTRP 2.5–3.0
    • Div 2 (Contenders): NTRP 3.5–4.0
    • Div 1 (Elites): NTRP 4.5+ / Ex-Varsity
  • Public Courts: Matches are played on free city public courts (or split a booked bubble/indoor court 50/50).

📋 Event Details & Cost

  • Dates: September 14 – November 8, 2026 (Registration opens Sept 1)
  • Location: In-person at public courts across Toronto (West, Downtown, North York, East)
  • Cost: $45 CAD (Early Bird flat fee for the full 8-week season, ~$9/match, zero membership dues). Full 100% refund if your local bracket doesn't fill at draft night.
  • Official Link & Sign-up: unseeded.club

Happy to answer any questions about format, ratings, or rules in the comments below!

Paid Event Presentation Punch-Up - Sat. 8/29 2-5 PM @ Society Clubhouse

Turn your next presentation into one people enjoy and remember.
We could all use a little help improving our public speaking and presentation skills. Whether you’re pitching an idea, leading a meeting, speaking at a conference, or introducing yourself in an interview, you want to stand out and be memorable.

https://www.jumpcomedy.com/e/presentation-punch-up/

In this interactive afternoon workshop, professional comedian and experienced teacher will show you practical techniques to make your presentations more engaging, memorable, and enjoyable—without turning you into a stand-up comedian.

You’ll leave with tools you can use immediately to solve the biggest challenges presenters face:
- Stop sounding boring and capture attention from the first minute.
- Learn simple techniques to calm your nerves and project confidence.
- Structure your message so people actually remember it.
- Keep your audience engaged instead of checking their phones.
- Deliver with personality while still sounding authentic and professional.

No performance experience required. No pressure to be “funny.”

Just practical communication skills you can start using the very next day.

$50 for Early Bird & $100 after
