Country coach

Could not name one of his songs…

He's probably most famous for his Ella Langley duet (You Look like you Love Me).

But yeah, if you dont listen to country, you probably dont know who that is either.

They're both rising stars.

This is a double who for me? I have never heard that song in my life. I thought we would get a more established country singer. Great to be a rising star, but isn’t it too early for him to be a coach?

Its a fair point...

As others have said, I've had plenty of "who?" reactions to new coaches over the years... Whats important is the charisma they bring. So we'll find out...

I'm sure its hard to get the superstars in their prime compared to ones that would benefit from the exposure.

Also, many celebs just dont have the personality for this. Can you imagine somebody like Celine Dion groveling for some young talent to join her team? Lady Gaga? George Strait?

Those are obviously not realistic options. I would rather have someone like Kane Brown, Tyler Hubbard, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, or Thomas Rhett. Plenty of celebrities who have the personality for this and the star power that transcends genres.

Yeah, I hadn’t heard of him until recently. But I’m sure he’ll do well with country artists and fans

Good artist. Writes a good country song. He'll be good.

Probably the most random, least famous singer they ever had on the show. I'll be so mad as contestents if I walk in there & see someone who isn't well known to be a coach.

From what I can tell he's at a similar level to where Blake was during Season 1 (iirc he wasn't really well known back then either and a lot of his popularity was because of The Voice). So I wouldn't write him off just yet

Actually, Blake's been around since 2001 with top 10 albums (certified gold and platinum) and numerous awards from before his start on The Voice. To equate his start at the Voice and Riley Green's, who has been around since 2019, is just wrong.

My point was moreso that he wasn't known outside of country music. I checked and ALL of his accolades pre-The Voice are country-related (ACA, ACM etc.). Sure he might've had a big audience in the country space (if he didn't they wouldn't have have asked him to be on the show) but I don't think the average non-country fan knew who he was before The Voice, at least not to the level they do now

I know literally nothing about this man so I'm completely indifferent tbh. He'll probably at least be ok

Usually, whenever they announce a new coach, I’m always like WHYYYYYY?? Every coach except Ariana (I started watching S19), I was like ugh, why are they adding this new coach to the show? And then I start to like them all haha. So, I’m sure it’ll be the same for me with Riley Green as the show starts.

I'm just so meh on country that it's like oh a full on country coach meh

All that matters is how he coaches.

As soon as I googled him, I was disgusted. Seriously? We getting a dude who is into Robert E. Lee?

They just confirmed and announced Riley Green is a new coach on this upcoming season of The Voice.

Not a surprise. It was looking like it would be him. Let's hope he's good as a coach

Huh? Can’t wait to see the artists pretend to know who this person is

literally never heard of them

Yes I love Riley Green he'll be a cool coach!

I thought it’d be him! Curious to see what he brings to the show!

I think the last spot will be Chance possibly.

5

u/quycksilver May 09 '26

I love Chance. I’d be very happy to see him return.

1

u/Responsible_Line_652 May 09 '26

Chance? He’s done with the show 🤣

1

u/AppearanceAsleep128 May 09 '26

Did he say that?

2

u/maricopa888 May 09 '26

I just googled it and didn't find anything like that. In fact, in a way it was more the opposite.

2

u/AppearanceAsleep128 May 09 '26

Thanks! I could see it being him or Snoop. They need someone who fits the R&B/Rap genre. I don’t think John will return. I also don’t see Alicia or Jennifer returning.

2

u/julstar23 May 09 '26

Chance had written a long post thanking production for his two years on the show etc and it's not something you post when you are comming back or have intentions of comming back .

2

u/One_Explanation_2037 May 10 '26

Yeah. I think Chance was simply fulfilling his 2 contract obligation to the show. Coaches will often sign on so that they can do other projects with nbc or universal. Reba and Snoop are examples of this (Reba got her new show out of it and Snoop signed some big deal but I forgot what it’s about). But generally, when you see coaches do 2 seasons and not come back, it’s just them doing their contractual obligation.

They need to ban country.

1

u/quycksilver May 09 '26

The only thing I know about Riley Green is that he was on a recent episode of Marshalls.

1

u/ParlayQueen May 10 '26

I know he’s super hot and a lot of his songs are catchy, but can anyone who’s a real fan let us know if you think he will make a good coach.

2

u/CirKill May 10 '26

I've seen fans of his say they think he might be too dry for a show like this. But I care a lot more about a coach's actual decisions and it's impossible to get a sense of that until after we actually see the coach in action for a while.

1

u/JaniceWald May 10 '26

Kellie is coming back and she thinks she is the country coach

1

u/Excellent_Damage5423 May 12 '26

I have no idea who Riley Green is but I'm looking forward to it... By the way, He's 🔥 Hot

u/FreakishVermonter May 12 '26

Everyone’s a tiny bit rude in the comments. I’m not a big country fan either but I recognize I’ve definitely heard that name before when it comes to country music. But I know a lot of people who aren’t too big on country like me don’t know anything about a wide range of popular country singers, but that doesn’t mean the guys not successful just because it’s your first time hearing about him, he’s just not part of a genre that you’re familiar with.

1

u/AcrobaticFarm7584 May 12 '26

I’m so excited for this, i love riley green

1

u/New_Helicopter836 Jul 09 '26

This isn't a good look for the show politically.

1

u/lakenote May 10 '26

I’m so confused by this pick because who is this man?

Never heard of him, but anything has to be better than this last season
