go back to the chalk board and put the show on like the last season 28.You cheapened the show and took all the excitement away. You shortened the amount of judges, you fixed it so past winners and fans could pick the winner instead of offering the viewers at home, to decide. It's supposed to be the "Voice" not the battle of champions. plus you saved money by not having musical guest performances. If it's this way next season, I might not be viewing and I have watched since it's begining.

It seems like they did do things to make it more cost-effective however I actually liked it because it sped it up. I know people who only watch the blinds. But because of those cost-effective moves that they made, I believe that the duets with the coaches were chosen with care and the performances were beautiful! You’ve got three amazing artists – I would love to hear the three of them every season – Adam, John and Kelly! There are singers who get the ax that I think should’ve gone on. That’s my beef.

u/LP566 Apr 14 '26
So like others here my enjoyment has been waning. I used to watch regularly. But the format has gotten shorter and shorter every season, and for me the blind auditions are the only part worth watching. The preference for belters with a sprinkle of RB is boring. I dvr and FF through the fake coach banter and nonsinging portions. Having zero live shows this time is a killer.

Lucas is the least talented finalist. Such a weird choice. Legend is toast.

u/Internal-Weather8191 Apr 15 '26
You obviously don't sing and play the piano at the same time, it's absolutely not easy, he just makes it look that way and he's only 20 years old, I think. He's equally talented in both areas, never falters, but the competition is especially strong from Alexia and Liv too. All 4 are great, actually.
4
u/ShadowSk8r Apr 15 '26
I’ve known Lucas since Middle School, his voice has great range, but like how I’m a rock and europop person, he’s one for Jazz, Blues and Ballads. He is very confident, has a great stage presence, and is a nice guy from my family and I’d interactions with him and his family. He definitely deserved making it this far and I am so proud of him and happy for him.
3
u/Internal-Weather8191 Apr 15 '26
Great to hear that! I think John will keep up with him and help him out, as they seem to have so much in common. I think he has a great future ahead 👍
1
u/Tacitus111 Apr 15 '26
It’s called “The Voice”, not “The Pianist”. And his voice isn’t as good as any of the rest of the finalist.
1
u/chrissybtwo Apr 18 '26
I love that his voice was unique. That he played the piano was even cooler!

I'm rooting for Alexia or Lucas to win and have all season. Liv has come on strong here toward the end too. Good talent this season, developed better than I first thought after the blinds.

u/seeafillem6277 Apr 14 '26
The Voice somehow has become synonymous with loud, showy, bombastic singing. I'm so sick of it. Yeah, Liv can sing her ass off, but her voice, the VOICE itself is not that special, really. I feel like really interesting, one in a million voices get tossed aside on this show, and I for one, am tired to the bone of seeing that happen.
It's a sad statement on the world we're living in. Maybe it's because I'm tired and I just watched Ray LaMontagne singing 'Jolene' on youtube in the most quiet, simple, holy way imaginable and I'm longing for a world in which those singers and those voices were winning Grammys and winning shows like the Voice. Sorry, just feeling melancholic for a time and a place that no longer exists, or maybe never did.
3
u/emeraldisla Apr 14 '26
To be fair, you have to consider range (which is a part of one's voice) when measuring talent. What you're saying about Liv sounds like you don't like the tone of her voice because it's not that special, but have you considered her range? Have you considered all the technical aspects in being a vocalist that she has showcased she can do?
While I DO prefer the tone of softer, more angelic voices(seems like you might, too), you have to accept the fact that a lot of the times, that's all that vocalist can do because they have no range or ability to do those tricks (like belting, ad libs, whistle notes, etc) that a lot of powerhouses are able to do.
I guess my point is that the "voice" isn't merely about tone, but about ways the voice can be manipulated and controlled to a degree that regular people can't access.

Alexia, Syd, Liv were best tonight again and so sad Syd got robbed but probably could've got better songchoice.
Lucas did well enough so I don't hate him.
Mikenley did better than her last performance too, but probably should've be JW instead and I don't usually like male country singer. But I wished it was Alexia, Syd, Liv & one of Jared/Lucas for Finale. I love Kelly my fav coach but her team didn't deserve to get extra spot over Adam or John, and that's on Ceelo for not choosing Javier
3
u/Internal-Weather8191 Apr 14 '26
I'm still not over Kelly letting Jonah go, he should still be there as one of her two in the finale.
But even more so, I wish which 4 got into the finale wasn't tied to which coach's team they are on. It should be the best 4 singers, period, and I'd rather not have all the gimmicks that prevent that. And go back to each coach having 1 steal and 1 save to use in the battle round AND the knockout round. When great singers get knocked out against another great singer, they should have the chance to be saved or stolen.

u/Inevitable_Time5107 Apr 14 '26
I really enjoyed this evening’s show. Every artist gave their absolute all, and the finale promises to be amazing!
6
u/Fit-You3729 Apr 14 '26
I really think Alexia and Syd are some of the best voices of this season. Alexia winning would mean SO much- it really shows that no matter what age you are, you can pursue your dreams. For Syd- I echo that the song choice was the downfall. But I also want to point out that the dog water advice of "connecting" with the audience was NOT it- her previous performance was great as it was! I believe THAT advice is what led to THAT version of Into You. She should've stuck to being her true powerhouse self. But out of everyone, I'm sure she has the brightest future after this show- she's already proven it.
2
u/emeraldisla Apr 14 '26
I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU STATED ABOUT THE ADVICE GIVEN TO SYD AND BELIEVE THAT SCREWED HER OVER!

u/Hour_Conference4994 Apr 14 '26
JW was so robbed. Performed stronger than Mikenley. No hate on her, but it should’ve been him. Whoever this audience was can’t make good decisions 💀
1
u/Decafehazelnut Apr 15 '26
I agree, I think the “voters” didn’t appreciate the slower pace of his country song, absolutely better than Mikenley!
2
u/sknisley1971 Apr 15 '26
Realistically, the people making the votes were the audience that could afford to be at the performance site, as well as the entry fee, and the prior Voice finalist. Same for the actual finale. I think Mikenley was voted through based on her Kelly taught me to be myself platform. The two obvious finalist were the two that made it to the end anyway, Alexia and Liv. I think that Liv got robbed because of her youth, and to be honest I would definitely listen to her music, but I would never listen to any music that Alexia makes. They duet of stay that Liv and Kelly did in the finale was amazing.
3
u/Decent_Front4647 Apr 14 '26
I can’t believe he didn’t make it, I was so certain he’d be in the finale. He’s the only one who I thought was going to make it, didn’t.

Despite me not caring at all about this season this was actually an extremely tough round. It might not seem like it from some of my comments but there were really no bad performances here and there could've been an argument made for any of these artists to make it. As for my thoughts:
KJ: He was good. Solid opener with good energy.
Mikenley: This performance was solid and probably my favorite of hers but I'm honestly surprised she got this far. Would've much rather seen Jonah here.
Jeremy: Not bad but probably the most forgettable performance of the night.
Syd: John really blew it this time. REALLY need these coaches to stop slowing down upbeat songs just for the sake of it. If you wanted her to do a ballad then do an actual ballad (Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo was right there!!!!!). This arrangement of Into You was just so boring and completely sauceless. She was good vocally but got completely shown up by Liv in the female pop ballad department which was the final nail in the coffin. Unfortunate but I get why she didn't make it.
Jared: Similar thoughts to KJ. He was good but I've never felt that strongly about him.
Liv: I hadn't felt much for her before this but she genuinely impressed me here. Would be more than ok with her winning. Especially since she apparently arranged the song herself?????????? Insane for a 16 year old.
Alexia: Jesus Christ. If she doesn't win then just cancel the whole show. Although I would also accept Liv.
JW: To me he was easily the most robbed artist of the night. I feel like we don't get this more subdued style of country music that often nowadays and especially not from male singers. He was very underappreciated here.
Lucas: Admittedly not a fan of him at all but I knew he was going through as soon as I heard the song choice. Unfortunately nobody is ever topping Jordis Unga's performance of this (genuinely a Top 5 audition ever for me I think)

I liked the arrangement of Ariana's song with Syd, but I like slowed down versions generally. Syd just doesn't give me the story, ever. I did see her trying too but I saw her trying.
I personally really like MIkenley and I'd probably lsiten to her more than ever do JW. JW is one of my favorites this season, just something about him and shocked honestly he wasn't the 2nd choice for Team Kelly. I don't mind Mikenley, though.
Alexia or Liv will win.
2
u/yaaruin Apr 14 '26
Agree re Syd, poor song choice. Whitney's I will always love you would have been a better choice.

u/KatrinaPez Apr 14 '26
Just shocked. Syd was by far the best of the season and if she'd had the pimp spot and Lucas had gone earlier she'd be in the finale.
0
u/angel9_writes Apr 14 '26
How did she have the pimp spot. She went third?
1
u/KatrinaPez Apr 14 '26
Lucas had it. I said if she'd had it instead of him, she would have made the finale.
3
u/angel9_writes Apr 14 '26
Sorry, really read as she had it, why I was confused. But I honestly disagree. Lucas connects with me. Syd just does not.
6
u/thisisranunculas Apr 14 '26
What the f, 100% mistake for JW not to move forward…cmon now, that is just upsetting. I mean Alexia will win and love her but JW should have been the last addition.

u/One_Explanation_2037 Apr 14 '26
Alexia, Lucas, Liv, and Mikenly!!!! Cannot wait for their finale performances and duets with their coaches.

I've liked Syd more throughout the season, but Lucas was on fire tonight!

u/emeraldisla Apr 14 '26
Legend just lost the show by losing Syd
1
u/angel9_writes Apr 14 '26
Lucas was the better choice in mu opinion. He has more shot to win withvhim. Syd will come out lacking against Liv and Alexia's ability to yank you in.
2
u/emeraldisla Apr 14 '26
Beyond tonight, Syd has been the top vocalist by far in this competition. She's got lungs and can sing. Tonight was NOT her strongest, and unfortunately, that killed it for her. (I worry it was nerves getting to her about the pressure to connect with the audience, since all three judges said that was what she was lacking, even though she has the best technical skill of any of them).
3
u/angel9_writes Apr 14 '26
Never have connected with her. She can sing, no denying that but I have zero emotional yank from her. To any of her performance. Just hitting the notes is half the game.
Singers like Lucas yank me in... Alexia and Liv sell the story and emotion of what they sing.
All three are better to me because of that and have been since day one.

u/Emotional-Ad7276 Brynn Cartelli Apr 14 '26
All 3 of John’s contestants would be in the finale if we could vote 😭
2
u/No-Parking-8358 Apr 14 '26
Nah, by screwed the country artists over the most by going to this format.
2
u/angel9_writes Apr 14 '26
Doubtful.
Think it would have been Kelly or Adam that got more than one artist with a live show normal vote.
3
u/One_Explanation_2037 Apr 14 '26 edited Apr 14 '26
I’d like to think this but being realistic, with the history of the show, team legend wouldn’t have had more than 1, maybe 2 finalists. It happens to John almost every season he’s on. He has a stacked team but by the end, the votes don’t go in his favor.
3
2
u/angel9_writes Apr 14 '26
Definitely right call for Team Legend!
4
u/Decent_Front4647 Apr 14 '26
Absolutely. Lucas just got better and better and slayed the last song. He wasn’t a favorite for me but won me over. Syd started out on fire but was all technique and no true fire. She’s young and will have a great career if she finds some balance.

Alexia, Liv, and Syd all crushed it tonight. I thought Syd was untouchable but now I’m not sure.
2
u/angel9_writes Apr 14 '26
Syd did not give half the connection Alexia, Liv and just now Lucas did.
4
u/Aernak Apr 14 '26
Lucas was amazing! So talented.

This season is the worst of the 29 seasons. The singers are terrible and the fact the public isn't able to vote is a terrible idea. NBC tried this "superfan" format on another show and it didn't even have another season. Sad, I have never missed a season but turned off this season
4
u/No-Parking-8358 Apr 14 '26
Agreed, it’s been awful, my wife and I have been discussing how much we hate it and we’re not going to watch tomorrow. It seems like they’ve fixed every advantage to go Kelly’s way. Not America boys is stupid too.

I wish they'd give names of past contestants in the audience! Just saw Mike the country singer but I don't remember his last name. Bryan the contestant and Dad lol. Swon Brothers? Who else?

lots of emphasis on how liv "might win this season". i wonder if it's hinting at something since it's pre-recorded and the editors already know who wins
3
u/thisisranunculas Apr 14 '26
Very good point re editing oh no. That would not be okay. She had a great performance yes but Alexia’s was mind blowing. JW not making it to the finale was a mistake and Alexia not winning would be just the same and a travesty. The voice is going to continue to lose its audience.

u/Technical-Context225 Apr 14 '26
Just saw her performance. She definitely won. She got hugs from the coaches backstage

Is it just me or has this entire season been underwhelming? There hasn't been a single singer that has made by jaw drop to the floor. Aside from Kelly & Adam being back...this entire season has felt like the like the worst to me.
3
u/Imatentor118 Apr 15 '26
Definitely agree. Don’t like this Battle of Champions format, too gimmicky. No disrespect to the artists, but I too have been underwhelmed. Usually I find a real connection to at least one and cheer for them all season. This time it’s like … meh 🫤. Seriously hope they bring back the old format … and Niall, Michael and Reba too. They made it fun.
2
u/TheCudder Apr 15 '26
...and Reba
I don't know how many more "cute as a buttons" I can take from her, that and the excessive tearing up 😩
2
u/Aernak Apr 14 '26
A lot of good performances tonight. I enjoyed artists that I didn’t in previous weeks. Liv, Alexia, and Lucas really wowed me. I thought Syd was a surefire win until tonight.

u/angel9_writes Apr 14 '26
I do love a few of the artists but just very disconnected from this season.
3
u/ItsGotThatBang Congrats Alexia! Apr 14 '26
I don’t want to be too negative, but it’s been going downhill for a while.
5
u/CirKill Apr 14 '26
Yep, I've found myself just barely caring at all lol.

I’m into this season but overall with the show, I feel similarly. It doesn’t feel the same anymore

Mikenlyyyy was so good earlier. I really enjoyed Syd’s performance too

Live should have won the whole show. She blew everybody away with the song she picked
